WWE Smackdown Results 4/21/06- JBL's Celebration, Booker T and Matt Hardy (KOTR 1st round)

Hey this is XtremeGirly taking over for Chad this week.

The show opened up with Booker T and Sharmell. With Booker T talking about how great it was to sit on that throne and that he was going to defeat Matt Hardy and go on to become the King of The Ring. And Booker T says that everyone will learn how to bow down to him. The promo shoots over to Matt Hardy and he talks about how this past year he has been to hell and back and that he has been beaten down, but he will not stay down. And that he bows down to no one. And that he will not die...

FIRST MATCH**** Booker T vs. Matt Hardy in a King Of the Ring round one match. Booker T made his way down to the ring after being announced by Sharmell. Matt Hardy was soon to follow. After cleaning the throne with his t-shirt. The match started off with a tie up. And Matt backed up Booker into the turnbuckle. Booker then grabbed Hardy from behind and Belly to back suplexed him into the ring. Both men stood up and Booker T delivered a series of chops to Hardy. Then Hardy slammed Booker into the turnbuckle and hammered away at him with so right hands. Then ran him over and slammed him into the other turnbuckle. Then tried for a pin. Hardy then put Booker into a side headlock which Booker reversed into a power slam. Then Booker slammed Hardy into a turnbuckle and started to hammer away at him. While whipping him into another turnbuckle Hardy reversed with a kick in the face, a clothesline, and a swinging neck breaker for a near fall. Then Matt attempted to go up to the top rope but Booker stopped him. Hardy knocked Booker away and attempted a pretty sweet moonsault. But missed. Which led to a Booker T near fall and the match to swing Bookers way. Booker laid a beating on Matt Hardy and yelled "I’m the King" throughout the match. Then he sidewalk slammed Hardy and got a near fall. A snap mare takedown by Booker T into a sleeper hold. Hardy stood up and countered with a neck breaker type thing. Then got up onto the second rope and hit and elbow on the back of the head. He attempted the twist of fate, but Sharmell had snuck onto the apron while Booker T shoved Matt towards the ropes. And Sharmell pulled the top rope down and caused Matt to spill onto the floor. Then the match went to a commercial break. We see Booker T pretty much having dominated until Hardy started to fight back. Until Booker ended that with a really nice suplex, which led to another suplex going in the opposite direction. Then a near fall... with a nice 2 count. Booker then used the ropes to choke Matt Hardy. Then after the ref yelled at Booker, Sharmell continued to choke Hardy. Then Booker delivered a super kick to the face. And received another near fall. Booker then went up to the top rope and Hard stood up and superplexed Booker off the top rope. Hardy went for the cover but Booker kicked out. Then Booker hung Hardy up on the top rope with a throw. And ran Hardy against the ropes to deliver and elbow and another pinfall. Booker then put Hardy in a rear choke. Which Hardy got out of, by reversing with some elbows. Hardy tried to run but Booker brought Hardy down hard by his hair. Booker then placed the rear choke on Hardy again. Hardy reversed with some fists, Booker delivered some knees to the sternum. Booker tried another suplex but Hardy reversed it with a reverse DDT. Booker and Hardy went back and forth with the punches, until Hardy gained the offense. He threw Booker into the corner and gave him a bull dog.. which led to yet another near fall. Hardy tried to drill him in another corner but Booker reverses with a high elbow and an airborne super kick. Which led to a near fall. Then Booker hit the bookend. But Hardy rolled away, so Booker decided to do a spinoroonie. Them attempted to do a scissors kick, but it was reversed into the SIDE EFFECT! But Booker kicked out. Hardy was starting to get fired up as Sharmell climbed into the ring. Hardy then went for the twist of fate while the ref was distracted and Booker hit a low blow. Then Booker hit the scissors kick and pinned Hardy with a 1....2.....3.... BOOOKER T DEFEATED HARDY WITH THE SCISSORS KICK

Booker celebrated by putting on the crown.

They showed a promo for the tag match later in the night with Lashley and Benoit vs. Finlay and Orlando Jordan.

We come back from commercial with a JBL public service announcement that showed when JBL beat Eddie Guerrero in a Texas Bull Rope match, which as the announcer so nicely put it was the longest reigning champion in over a decade.

A backstage promo aired with Burchill walking into a room, and Regal already in there... wearing a skirt a white blouse and a pink bow in his hair. Regal asked Burchill why he had to look like a street walking Tart and that is wasn’t funny.. and Burchill stated that it wasn’t funny when Regal made fun of him when he first started dressing like a pirate. Burchill said that yes he looked ridiculous and that he had something better to dress him in.. and produced a Teddy Bear Costume.

Second Match***** Mercury vs. London in a one on one match
MNM the cam to the ring in high style like they usually do. Paul London and Brain Kenderick ran down to the ring. It's going to be Paul London and Mercury in one on one action. London was ready to start, but Mercury dominated early with elbows and knees to the stomach. Mercury then threw London into the ropes, but London reversed it into a flip thing and started punching Mercury in the face. Then he rolled up Mercury from behind to try and get the pin. But Mercury kicked out... London then delivered a nice drop kick and pinned Mercury again. Mercury then whipped London into the corner and London reversed it and climbed onto the top rope. Mercury pushed London off the top rope, and he went crashing to the ground. Melina let off a few ear piercing shrieks. London got back into the ring at a 9 count where Mercury kicked him then used the roped to drive a knee into his throat. Mercury attempted a pin, but London kicked out. Mercury choked London on the ropes then delivered a dropkick of his own. And attempted another pin. Then Mercury locked London into a sitting backwards bear hug. London stood up and reversed it with and elbow. And Mercury tried to pick London up but London reversed it and went for a suplex.... there were a whole both of reverses and it led to Mercury delivering a fisherman’s suplex/northern lights suplex to London, which London kicked out on two. London crawled over to the side of the ring and Melina choked him while the refs back was turned. Melina and Kendrick both got on the apron. Mercury knocked Kenrick down and Kendrick's was pissed and tried to get into the ring. Which led to an MNM double team. Mercury then tried to pin London 4 times and was unsuccessful. Mercury put London in a front face lock. London reversed by driving Mercury into the turnbuckle. And gave Mercury a Jaw breaker and a few elbows. London laid a few elbows on Mercury and did a running punch in the face. London jumped on Mercury’s back and drove his face into the canvas. The attempted another pin. After a back and forth in the turnbuckle London went to the top rope. Mercury tried to superplex, but London head butted Mercury like nobodies business and delivered a Crossbody to Mercury from the top rope. London delivered two shoulder blocks and after each one attempted to pin Mercury. Then London tried to go for a third but Mercury threw London over the top rope. However London held on and flipped back over the rope and hit a follow through on Mercury... which is a neat flippy pin thingy. Mercury swung and London and London hit a cross up (i'm not sure if that’s what its called Michael Cole has horrible diction) but it was a standing dropkick a back flip afterward. London then went after Nitro and Nitro grabbed his leg. So London jumped on him over the top rope and laid a beat down. That is until Kendrick got into the ring in an attempt to beat down Mercury and Mercury took him down and catapulted him over the top rope onto London. Nitro threw London back into the ring and London rolled Mercury up after he showboated. LONDON DEFEATED MERCURY WITH A ROLL UP.

London and Kendrick celebrated while MNM said we are still the champs.

We head backstage again and see Regal now dressed as a female Teddy Bear. Regal spouted out a whole bunch of English terms and Burchill said that he was going to try something else.

We come back from commercial break and they show how Angle defeated Orton last week to advance in the King of the Ring. And how Angle "broke Orton’s ankle".

3rd Match******* Benoit and Lashley vs. Finlay and Jordan
Beniots entrance music came on and the rabid wolverine made his way to the ring. Lashley then followed. Finlay and Jordan both came down the ring. Lashley and Jordan started the match off with a tie up. Lashley pretty much dominated Jordan and threw him into the ropes, brought him down with a shoulder block and lifted him high over his head and slammed him onto the ground. Benoit was then tagged into the ring and went after Jordan with punches and kicks. Then after throwing Jordan against the ropes.. he hit the cross face. Which was quickly broken up by Finlay and Benoit started going after Finlay, which Jordan capitalized with a side arm take down. Finlay was tagged into the ring and went to work on Benoits left arm. With a submission that really seemed to hurt Benoit. Benoit stood up and got Finlay to break the hold and tag in Jordan. Jordan delivered a kick to the mid section and went to work on Beniots arm and drove his shoulder into the turnbuckle. Finlay went to work on Benoit behind the refs back and Jordan rolled Benoit up for a near fall. Then Jordan delivered a shoulder block for another near fall. Finlay then was tagged in and started to work on Beniots arm. Benoit started to come back with chops but Finlay delivered a drop toe hold and tagged Jordan in. Jordan tried to put Benoit in a standing submission. But Benoit reversed it into a German. Jordan tried to put Benoit in a standing submission. But Benoit reversed it into a German. Benoit then made it to the corner and tagged in Lashley. Who cleaned house. Hit Jordan with a backdrop, and a delayed vertical suplex. He attempted to pin but Finlay broke it up. Benoit took care of that problem and took Finlay out with a cool suicide dive through the rope. In the ring Lashley hit a powerful spear on Jordan, and the crowd went nuts! Lashley hit the dominator and pinned Jordan. LASHLEY AND BENIOT DEFEATED FINLAY AND JORDAN WITH THE DOMINATOR.

Another JBL public service announcement came on. It showed April 8th 2004 when JBL went after all the Mexicans who tried to cross the boarder illegally. John Bradshaw Layfield a great champion for a greater America.

A Backlash promo came on for the triple threat match for the title.

They showed This week in wrestling History when Austin crushed the Rocks 40,000 dollar Lincoln with his monster truck. Same video clip as on Raw.
Theodore Long came on and said that Kurt Angle was going to get a Wrestlemania rematch next week in England.

Regal comes out of the locker room dressed as a chicken. Regal gives a lot of attitude and Burchill tells Regal not to get too cocky. And sends Regal away because he has another costume for him to try on.

Crystal is then interviewing Funaki.. Smackdown's number one announcer! Crystal asks him how he is feeling about having to face The Great Khalij. Funaki says he’s huge and this Khalij comes behind him. And says something into the mike... that isn’t understandable.

We come back from the break and we say how The Great Khalij dominated taker last week.

4th match******* Funaki vs. Khalij.
Cole and Tazz talked about how Undertaker hadn’t been seen since the attack last week. And that his spirit was said to be broken. Kahlij chopped Funaki, Kicked him in the head, and only needs one hand to lift him. And basically threw him down and stepped on his face to pin him. KHALIJ DEFEATED FUNAKI WITH A THROW DOWN.

William Regal is now dressed as King Kong. Burchill says that he has one more costume for Regal to try, and to hurry up because their match is next.

A promo for Divas Do New York comes on. A See No Evil trailer comes on. And they show some pretty graphic footage from the movie.

The Gymni now come down to the ring...

5th match******** The Gymni vs. Burchill and Regal.

Burchill comes down to the ring really neatly by a rope swing. And Regal comes out dressed as an English Gentleman who looks like Captain Hook without a hook. He has a hat with peacock feathers sticking straight out of it. Burchill and Jake? (apparently now Jake has a white sock) They tie up and Burchill drives Jake into the corner and delivers some intense punches to the face and delivers a devastating clothesline. Then Burchill tries to tag Regal in and Regal doesn’t want to go. So Jake makes him come and Regal's wig comes off. The other twin comes is tagged in and they knock Regal down. Tazz is now wearing Regal's Rick James wig. I think its Jessi in the ring now and he has Regal in a headlock. He gives Regal a suplex. And another headlock. Regal reverses the headlock and goes for a tag. But Burchill walks away. And heads up the ramp. The Gymni double team Regal with the cross trainer. GYMNI DEFEAT REGAL AND BURCHILL WITH THE CROSSTRAINER>

An announcement for JBLS Great American Celebration is next. But not after another Public Service Announcement showing JBL win the U.S. Championship.


When we come back from the break its the MIZ! He says that the Miz is cool.. so the Miz is going to crash JBL's party. Hurrah! Then the network guys comes out and says that the Miz in canceled on Smackdown because he is ruse and uncool. And security leads him away.

Its the Raw Rebound! To show how Raw ended last week.

We come back from another commercial break... and we are showed how the cage match ended last week on smackdown.

There are inflatable Eagles and other decorations about. Jillian Hall leads a marching band parade style around the ring. Jillian Hall announces JBL. JBL then comes out in a Stretch Hummer. And Red, White, and Blue balloons come out from the ceiling. JBL gets on the mike and asks Jillian Hall if this is it? Where are the horns? He isn’t happy with the marching band and sends them away... because they are not worthy.

He rambles on about how great he is.. calling himself a great American Hero. He rambles on about how he’s going to win the King of the Ring and Kurt Angle comes out to the ring. He gets on the mike and says that he has won and Olympic gold medal, he’s a 6 time world heavyweight champion here in the wwe... and you call yourself an American hero? JBL says he is a true American hero. And Angle comes back and says that compared to him JBL must really suck. Angle says that Rey is a better champion than JBL will ever be. Not that he will have it long because Angle will take it back from him next week. Then Rey Mysterio comes out. And says that he is more than willing to face Angle next week and he has a lot of respect for him. But the belt isn’t leaving his waist. JBL then says that Rey and Kurt should go shower together because they love each other. JBL started making fun of Reys height.. so Rey kicked him and Angle hit the Angle Slam. Rey hit the 619 and the two were left at a stare down in the middle of the ring.
