RAW House Show Results from Manila, Philippines
    (02/25/06)

Just got back from the second day of the RAW Live Tour
from the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City. To reiterate
what I said yesterday, the situation in the streets
was somewhat isolated but there was really a serious
coup threat that endangered the government. Anyway,
the situation today has mellowed, seems that
everything is back to normal, I hope.

The arena was packed once again, my estimates are well
over 15,000-18,000 for this event. Jason Roberts
welcomes everyone as the pyros exploded to start off
the show with Eugene taking on Gene (jobber) Snitsky.

    Eugene vs Gene Snitsky

Eugene came in first amidst a strong crowd reaction,
he brought a teddy bear to the ring, seems like a
Eugene version. Snitsky came with some strong pops
from the crowd too, but that was it however, he was
    booed when the match began.

Eugene did some of his ritual mimicking of some former
wrestlers such as the Junkyard Dog among others. As
Eugene was about to dominate the match, Snitsky
grabbed the bear and tear it to pieces. Eugene got
back almost scored a pinfall on a backslide but gets
the win on a school boy roll-up. Eugene leaves the
ring with cheers from the audience, Snitsky was given
a round of applaise as well. Eugene defeated
Snitsky via a pinfall at 10:26

Lita and Torrie Wilson vs Trish Stratus and Maria
Kanelis with Val Venis as the Special Guest
    Referee

Val Venis came first and did the dancing stuff he is
used, maybe to elude some hot chicks later. Torrie
Wilson came out first for the Diva's tag team match.
Lita came in second, crowd cheered for the former
Women's champ, we have seen her wrestle since her
injury last year. Maria was introduced, she was
probably the replacement for Ashley. Trish came last
with the crowd cheering wildly on the current Women's
    champ.

Decent match I have to say, there were some "we Want
puppies" chants, I wonder what the majority of the
kids in the audience think of this? Anyway, Lita was
not attempting any of those wild moves she usually
does, just simple wrestling. One time, Maria and
Torrie engaged in a catfight of sorts and which went
over Val Venis. He smiled afterwards. Lita scored on
the win by using the ropes as leverage on Maria for
the 1-2-3 count. The heels exit to the back and Trish
and Maria stayed, acknowledged the crowd and kissed
Val Venis after the crowd chanted, "KISSSSSSSS"Lita
and Torrie Wilson defeated Trish Stratus and Maria via
    a pinfall at 9:53

Rob Van Dam vs Tyson Tomko

RVD came first for the third match of the card, Tyson
Tomko came second amidst the usual pop from the intro
and the boos from the start of the match. I was a bit
impressed with Tomko from the first two or three
minutes of the match but he slowed down from the rest
of the match. Huge R-V-D chants and it was good to
hear some ECW chants which Van Dam acknowledged during
the match. RVD did some of those flying thrust kicks
on Tomko while Tomko showed some strong moves that RVD
sell. RVD won using the Five Star Frog Splash. Short
match but it was OK, the match could stink if the
match was longer. Afterwards, RVD leaves with strong
cheers from the audience. Tomko acknowledged the
applause from the crowd but flashed everyone with a
dirty gesture as he leaves. Rob Van def. Tyson
Tomko via a pinfall at 7:55

    Mick Foley vs Carlito

Carlito came first, with a strong pop from the
audience and did a promo on the Philippines. He said
that he thought it was like the Carribean, but he
realized that the beaches here stink (totally true),
the food smells bad and chicks here are hot. Well he
was joking and he said that they look like Manny
    Pacquiao with long hair.

Foley arrived last but there were a few stuff that was
going on before the bell rang. The first 10 minutes of
the match were just comedy stuff, at one time, the
wrestlers were running from rope to rope before Foley
got tired and sat with Jason Roberts on the apron. I
got so bored at the first few minutes of the match
that I bought a can of beer and was thinking of doing
the rituals of Stone Cold Steve Austin. Foley was even
mimicking a chicken and Jason Roberts announced that
Carlito is a chicken, which drew some "chicken" chants
on Carlito. Back to the action, the final few minutes
of the match were wrestling. The finish saw Carlito
attempting to spit apple on the Hardcore Legend before
Foley applied the Mandible Claw, using Mr. Socko on
Carlito to score the win. Foley got into the mic, said
that while he works matches occassionally on big
events, he was glad to have the opportunity to work a
match here. He thanks the fans for the response that
they received during the tour. Mick Foley def.
Carlito via a submission at 16:14

Shelton Benjamin vs Viscera for the WWE
    Intercontinental Championship

Jason Roberts once again announced that Shelton won
the IC title on RAW last Monday night. Shelton came
out and reiterated that he is not a "mama's boy".
Viscera enters second. A bit of a letdown for me since
the two has contrasting styles. However, I can't blame
Shelton on this. Mama's boy chants were heard but
wasn't as over as yesterday since it was Flair who was
carrying Benjamin. Viscera later humped on Shelton
which drew some cheers. Shelton hit the Dragon whip on
Viscera to retain the Intercontinental Championship.
Shelton Benjamin def. Viscera via a pinfall at
10:59 to retain the Intercontinental Championship

Chris Masters and Triple H vs Big Show and Ric
    Flair

Chris Masters entered the ring first and was cheered
heavily by the crowd. HHH came second for the heel
team and received a thunderous roar from the capacity
crowd. Heel or not, Triple H is so OVER here in the
Philippines, though I'm not much of a Hunter fan. Big
Show enters second which also drew a huge applause,
although not as same as HHH. Ric Flair enters last and
received a lot of WOOOOOO chants from the crowd.

Match starts with Masters and Show went at it first
but Masters was able to tag in to HHH. Flair later was
tagged-in by Show and for the next 10 or so minutes
HHH and Masters dominated the match. Some tags were
not seen by referee Mickie Henson. I'm standing on the
general admission section of the coliseum and man
Flair's chop are so loud. During some groggy moments,
HHH was making some funny antics like he was on
spaghetti legs, he even applied a the figure-four leg
lock on Flair which the Nature Boy reversed. After was
few minutes, Flair finally gets the hot tag to Show
and Show dominates hitting some double clotheslines
and a chokeslam to Masters and HHH. I believe he later
tagged-in to Flair and Flair used the Figure Four as
Masters taps out. Ric Flair and Big Show def. Chris
Masters and Triple H via a submission at 18:13

After the match, Jason Roberts, Maria, Trish, Eugene,
Viscera and Val Venis came out. Maria had a birthday
cake for Flair. HHH laters enter, and was staring at
Flair, crowd was chanting "KISSSSSSSS". HHH shook
hands with Flair which Flair accepts, HHH leaves. Show
was on the mic and let everyone sang a Happy Birthday
song to the Nature Boy. Flair thanked the fans in
    Manila as everyone leaves.

Jason Roberts announced a five-minute break before the
main event. I got an opportunity to sneak into the
Upper B section and avoided those security guards.

The main event was announced as a Steel Cage match as
the cage was lowered for the WWE title match.

John Cena vs Edge for the WWE Championship in a
    Steel Cage Match

Edge came out with Lita as the crowd cheered for the
Rated-R superstar. Edge was looking at the 15-foot
high steel cage before entering the ring. Cena came
out with a strong roar from the crowd. There were a
few anti-Cena chants but the Cena chants dominate the
    match.

After a few minutes, Cena was thrown into the cage and
was busted open. As Edge was about the escape from the
top rope, Cena hit the vertical suplex on Edge. Later
on, Edge was about to escape from the top of the cage
but Cena was able to put Edge back inside before Edge
threw Cena back into the canvas. However, Cena got
back and also threw Edge back inside the mat. Edge was
about to hit the spear on Cena but Cena ducked out and
hit referee Mike Chioda instead. Cena later hit Mickie
Henson opened the ring looking to replace Chioda but
Lita hit the low blow on Henson. Edge hits the spear
on Cena. Lita enters the ring to revive Chioda. Chioda
goes for the count but Cena kicks out. Cena later hits
Lita with an F-U and hits Edge also with an F-U for
the 1-2-3 count. Crowd was totally over for this
match, the excitement was there. Cena leaves Manila
still WWE Champion. John Cena def. Edge via a
pinfall at 15:42 to retain the WWE Championship

Afterwards, the ring was raised up. Jack Doan got into
    the mic and thanked everyone.

    Biggest Pops:
    1. Cena
    2. HHH
    3. Flair
    4. RVD
    5. Foley

    Biggest Heat:
    1. Carlito (for bashing the Philippines)
    2. Tomko (for his parting gestures)
    3. Snitsky (for tearing Eugene's bear, poor Eugene)
    4. Benjamin
    5. Cant decide on this

Thanks to Jack Doan for acknowledging us after we
continuosly called his name. We came down after the
show looking for some autographs. Mick Foley was nice
enough to give some of his 7-8 minutes with the crowd.
Foley left but Doan was helping on removing the ring.
We called his name, came up and took some picture with
me and my brother and thanked him for the time, Doan
was very respective I have to say.
