TNA iMPACT! 1/28 - Sting Speaks Live, Abyss vs. Rhino

    OPENING VIDEO PACKAGE
    - Sting speaks live for the first time in 5 years!
    NON-TITLE MATCH: NWA World Champion JEFF JARRETT (w/ Gail Kim) vs. JAY LETHAL
    - Match spilled out of the ring early.
    - Jackie Gayda came out and confronted Gail Kim.
    - Jackie gave Gail a tape recorder.
    - Jarrett told Gail it was "nothing".
    - Both ladies left.
    - Lethal mounted a brief offense with a springboard dropkick and diving headbutt.
    - The crowd got behind him, chanting "Let's go Lethal!"
    - Jarrett hit the Stroke and scored the pin at 2:00.
    - Christian Cage's music hit and out came "Captain Charisma".
    - He said he wasn't there for comedy or jokes, prompting a disappointed "aw" from the crowd.
    - Cage said he was there to make a promise.
    - He promised to "save the TNA fans" by winning the NWA World Title at Against All Odds.

    MATCH: TEAM 3D (Brother Ray & Brother Devon) vs. KENNY KING & BUCK QUARTERMAINE
    - Team 3D attacked before the bell.
    - The crowd wanted "tables".
    - A 3D on Buck sealed it at 1:37.
    - Brother Ray got a mike and thanked the fans for the TNA Tag Team Of The Year Award.
    - He said they couldn't choose who to face, Team Canada or America's Most Wanted.
    - The crowd chanted "both" but Ray said Larry Zbyszko would only let them have one.
    - Since the fans voted for them, they announced they were giving the decision to the fans.

    VIDEO PACKAGE: The X-Division
    - A.J. Styles said it was hard to throw in the towel for Christopher Daniels at Final Resolution.
    - Daniels said he understood why A.J. did it, but was annoyed that he did.
    - He threw in the towel during A.J.'s street fight with Shannon Moore to "show him how it feels".
    - Larry Zbyszko said that Daniels and Styles would face Samoa Joe for the title at AAO.
    BACKSTAGE SEGMENT: Jerry Lynn, Alex Shelley, Austin Aries & Roderick Strong
    - Lynn told the trio he was unimpressed by their two cheap victories.
    - He said they were driving him nuts with their requests for opportunities.
    - Matt Bentley (w/ Traci) interrupted, telling them to "stop begging".
    - Bentley said they hadn't been in TNA long enough to sweep the ring.
    - Bentley then asked Lynn when HIS opportunity was coming.
    - He said the fans were all doing the "Bentley Bounce".
    - Lynn told Bentley his opportunity was coming "right now" and added him to the card.
    - Bentley told Shelley, Aries & Strong to watch and learn "how to be successful".
    - Shelley told Shane Douglas he had a perfect face for radio.

    THE BROADCAST BOOTH: Mike Tenay & Don West
    - The voices of TNA discussed two matches set for the upcoming Against All Odds card.
    - TNA X-Division Title Match: Samoa Joe (champion) vs. A.J. Styles vs. Christopher Daniels
    - NWA World Title Match: Jeff Jarrett (champion) vs. Christian Cage
    - They also hyped Sting's appearance later in the show.
    - Matt Bentley came out for his added attraction match.
    NON-TITLE MATCH: MATT BENTLEY (w/ traci) vs. TNA X-Division Champion SAMOA JOE
    - Joe dominated the early goings.
    - Dave Hebner was shown, taking notes.
    - Bentley came back but missed a missile dropkick.
    - Jerry Lynn, Alex Shelley, Austin Aries & Roderick Strong came out to watch.
    - Bentley surprised Joe with a bodyscissor bulldog.
    - A huracanrana got Bentley a near-fall.
    - Joe rocked Matt with a knee strike in the corner.
    - Bentley escaped the Muscle buster, but missed the Head-On Collision superkick.
    - Bentley went for the bodyscissor again, but Joe snatched him into the Kokina Clutch.
    - Bentley tapped out at 3:06.

    VIDEO PACKAGE: Abyss vs. Rhino
    - The entire rivalry was recapped.
    MATCH: ABYSS (w/ Father James Mitchell) vs. RHINO
    - This was a rematch from Final Resolution.
    - Rhino had major crowd support.
    - The two lit each other up with chops.
    - Rhino gored Abyss into the corner.
    - Rhino hit a belly-to-belly suplex and set up for the gore.
    - Abyss ducked out of the ring, prompting a mid-match break.
    - Have you tried Morphoplex yet? Me neither.

    - Abyss picked up two after a big boot.
    - Dave Hebner again appeared, this time at the entrance.
    - Mitchell climbed on the apron and called for "Doomsday".
    - Rhino went for a DVD but Abyss escaped.
    - Rhino hit a spinebuster.
    - The crowd called for the Gore but Abyss threw Rhino out of the ring.
    - Abyss blasted Rhino with a chair on the floor.
    - Abyss chased referee Andrew Thomas away.
    - The two brawled up the aisle.
    - Rhino returned the favor with a few chair and trash can shots.
    - Rhino then gored Abyss through a nearby wall!
    - Both men were out, causing the ref to declare no-contest at 9:31. (5:44 TV time)
    - Paramedics hit the scene, tending to both of them.

    PROMO: STING
    - Tenay introduced the incomparable Sting.
    - The crowd chanted "welcome back" and "Sting".
    - Sting opened with "Stizzinger in da house!"
    - Stizzinger?!?!?!
    - Sting said he thought his March 2001 match with Ric Flair would be his last match.
    - He recounted the great memories from his career.
    - He mentioned the first NWA World Title win in 1990, Clash Of The Champions I and several different instances of rappeling from the rafters.
    - He said the thing he remembered most was the fans.
    - He said he regretted being unable to say goodbye at the final WCW Nitro.
    - He said TNA called him after securing the Spike TV deal.
    - He cited A.J. Styles, Abyss & Samoa Joe as "future world champions".
    - He proclaimed "TNA is MY brand" prompting a rah-rah "TNA" chant.
    - He said Final Resolution was his first match in 5 years (omitting his run in Australia's WWA to sell the angle).
    - Fans responded with "You still got it!"
    - Sting said Final Resolution was his final resolution, to say goodbye.
    - He thanked TNA, Dixie Carter & the fans.
    - The fans chanted "thank you Sting".
    - Sting said he didn't want to "taint the memory" so it really was goodbye.
    - "Please don't go" chants.
    - Sting said "I love you" to the crowd and laid the bat down in center-ring.
    - He headed up the ramp.
    - A.J. Styles, Chris Sabin & Sonjay Dutt came out to say goodbye.
    - Christian Cage came out, asking why and repeating "you still got it".
    - Sting said "love you like a brother" to Cage, then walked out.
    - With that, the show closed.
