Backstage WWE News: Joey Styles' status, Chris Benoit's contract, Nick Dinsmore

-- The reported reason for Nick Dinsmore's use of Somas was his dealing with a sore knee. Afraid that missing time with the injury would have resulted in losing his spot on TV, he instead tried to work through the injury with medication.

-- Although Joey Styles has now worked beyond his originally scheduled trial period, sources within WWE report that he has not signed a long-term deal with the company. Since Styles will not be able to consistently miss his day-to-day duties for the sake of calling RAW, a deal will need to be reached shortly.

-- In an update to Chris Benoit's contract status, some sources are of the impression that it actually extends through the end of the year. Original reports stated that the deal ended this month.
