- Another legend from the world of pro-wrestling has passed on. Reggie Lisowski, better known to wrestling fans around the world as "The Crusher", passed away at the age of 79.
Lisowski began his pro-wrestling career in Chicago, and got his first big break when he joined the AWA (American Wrestling Association). It was there that he formed a tag team with Dick the Bruiser, and they went on to become one of the most formidable tag teams in the history of the sport.
During his career, "The Crusher" held a number of different titles throughout the AWA. He was a former three time AWA Heavyweight Champion, and was a former eight time AWA Tag Team Champion with various partners such as Dick the Bruiser, Verne Gagne, Billy Robinson, and more.
The Crusher finally decided to retire from full-time wrestling in the early part of the 1980s, though he still wrestled on occasion here and there until the late 80s. He made several appearances for the WWE during the 80s, and even teamed up with former multiple-time WWE Champion Hulk Hogan. The last time The Crusher was on WWE TV was back in 1998 at one of the In Your House PPV's when he was honored for his in-ring achievements alongside his former rival Mad Dog Vachon. However, Jerry "The King" Lawler decided to try and belittle the legends, which caused The Crusher to send "The King" running to the back.
We here at LOP wish to send out condolences to the family and friends of Reggie "The Crusher" Lisowski.
