RESULTS FROM CWF MID-ATLANTIC TV TAPING HELD SEPT. 17th IN
    BURLINGTON, NC

The following results are from the CWF Mid-Atlantic TV Taping held
Saturday, September 17th, at the Carolina Sports Arena in Burlington,
NC. This included the first ever AWA World Heavyweight Title defense
in Burlington. All bouts are sanctioned by the AWA, the American
    Wrestling Association.

    1. American Steel Ninja & Brass Munkey defeated the Street Sweepers
(Jay Sinn & Gregory Vercetti) by pinfall (7:32)

    2. Rob "Boogie Woogie Man" McBride defeated Donnie Dollar$ by
    pinfall (3:19)

    3. "Box Office Draw" Mikael Yamaha w/Brad Stutts defeated "Rock N
Roll" Matty Dee by pinfall (12:00)

    4. Amber O'Neal defeated Christie Ricci by submission (9:00) in the
Mid-Atlantic qualifying round for entry into the upcoming AWA Womens
    World Title Tournament

    5. Ultra Dragon defeated Brandon Day by submission (8:28)

    6. "A Very Handsome Man" Mitch Conner upset Jesse "El Fuego" Ortega
by pinfall to capture the AWA Mid-Atlantic Television Title (8:52)

    7. AWA Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Champions The $outh$ide Playas (J-Money
& Will B. Smooth w/Kiyia Moka) defeated Marcellus King & Alex Adonis
by pinfall to retail the titles (15:00)

    8. AWA World Heavyweight Champion "King of Old School" Steve Corino
w/Ricky Landel defeated "Slick Diddy" Ric Converse by pinfall (38:45)

    NOTES:

Ricky Landell got involved at ringside after referee Charles
Richardson was knocked out in the main event by stopping referee
Katie Kincaid from entering the ring to make the count when Converse
had Corino clearly pinned. Corino listened to the protests of the
fans at ringside following the decision and confronted Landel about
his role in the match, stating he might "grab a rope" on occassion
but that his finishes were always clean and decisive. Corino went on
to state publicly that due to those circumstance there would be no
barrier to Converse getting a rematch for the title. He then told
Commissioner William L. Cross that the he will wrestle for free next
time and even pay for his own flight to CWF Mid-Atlantic to be able
to wrestle Ric Converse one more time for the title. Corino then
presented Converse with the championship belt and declared him
the "Uncrowned World Heavyweight Champion." (see related story at
    the end of this report)

Sean Powers attacked Ultra Dragon after his match, beating him with
the "Russian Chain." The ring quickly filled up with other
competitors trying to stop the chaos, that was eventually brought
back under control after many of the wrestlers were thrown over the
top rope to the floor. Commissioner Cross told the wrestlers to try
to wait until October 1st, when they will all have the opportunity
to fight it out in the ring at the 5th Annual CWF Rumble.

Cross went on to inform Sean Powers that he had been warned about
attacking anyone with the chain again and that this time there would
be no fines or suspensions, this time he was fired! The crowd
seemed especially happy about this decision as Powers was ordered
    from the building.

Mikael Yamaha declared that he was winning the Rumble this year even
after getting tossed over the top rope numerous times in his bout
    with Matty Dee.

Mitch Connor brought the modern day Mid-Atlantic record of
successful title defenses to an end as he pinned Jesse Ortega to
capture the AWA Mid-Atlantic Televison Title. Connor scored the
upset with he feet on the ropes providing the leverage to secure the
fall over Ortega. After reaching the dressing room, Connor
announced that, "I just won the Mid-Atlantic TV Title and now I'm
    going to Milwaukee to celebrate."

AWA Championship Coordinator Michael McAllister announced that
Garry "Madd Trucker" Stevens would not take a back seat to Ric
Converse on this night. Since he was originally scheduled to defend
the AWA Mid-Atlantic Hwt. Title, Stevens should be in the main
event. Therefore McAllister rescheduled his title defense to next
Saturday in Henderson, NC so that Stevens will be in the main event
where he deserves to be and will face Rob "The Boogie Woogie Man"
    McBride.

TEARS MARK CONTROVERSIAL WORLD TITLE DEFENSE IN BURLINGTON

The fans at the Carolina Sports Arena in Burlington, NC were
heartbroken yet still supportive of their local hero, "Slick Diddy"
Ric Convese, as he posed for photos holding the AWA World
Heavyweight Title belt. Some fans still had tears in their eyes as
they looked upon Converse with the championship that he would soon
have to surrender back to his opponent for the night.

One fan that grabbed the microphone looked to be on his way to a
heart attack he was so upset by the interference of Corino's second
at ringside, Ricky Landell. "He worked hard for this match and he
deserves the World Title!" he yelled over the house microphone as
everyone in the building agreed with their cheers.

He wasn't alone as fans and wrestlers all commented that Converse
has never looked better. "That was one of the best matches ever
seen in the past five years of this promotion," commented
Commissioner William L. Cross. "I am just as disappointed as the
fans in the outcome of this championship bout, but you can rest
assured that a rematch is being worked out and that next time, there
    will be no outside interference."

Gemini Kid, head trainer of the CWF Mid-Atlantic gym noted, "Ric
Converse stepped it up for this match and now that it's over,
everyone can see that he's not just a star in the Mid-Atlantic, he's
a superstar that is destined to be the World Heavyweight Champion."

AWA World Heavyweight Champion, Steve Corino added, "Everyone saw
what just happened out there. Converse took me to the limit for
nearly forty minutes. I've guaranteed him a rematch and I'm a man
of my word. He's the uncrowned world champion as far as I'm
concerned and he'll get another chance to add the crown. But don't
think I won't be better prepared for him. He's going to have to
fight that much harder if he thinks he's ever going to take this
    title from me."

As Converse exited the arena to hand the title belt to Commissioner
William L. Cross, the magnitude of what had just occurred began to
sink in. The uncrowned world champion commented, "Up until right
now I didn't really know if my dream could come true... it was only
a dream. But after this, after having Corino pinned and the fans
counting the pinfall on two separate occassions, I know that I can
make this dream come true. There are no more doubts. And most of
all, Steve Corino knows my impossible dream can come true too."

The top ranked challenger went on to say, "I'm looking forward to
the rematch with Corino. But I've got some unfinished business to
take care of right here and no one is going to stop me now."

Converse, who has been prevented by AWA Championship Coordinator
Michael McAllister from receiving any more Mid-Atlantic Hwt. Title
matches, now looks to one last hope of obtaining one, the 5th Annual
    CWF Rumble on October 1st.
