ESPN writer thinks Edge/Hardy match was real, Hogan Knows Best, more Submitted by Richard Gray on Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at 6:21 PM EST
ESPN.com Page 2 columnist Bill Simmons recently did a column that was very critical on WWE’s SummerSlam PPV. As you have probably heard by now, he bashes Hogan and mocks the entire show, but he also writes that he thought Matt Hardy vs. Edge was real. Simmons said the following:
“Take this for what you will, but Hardy and Edge look like they're actually punching each other - this is like a UFC match. Did wrestling become real and nobody told me? This is unbelievable. Is every match like this? Something you rarely see: The referee just stopped the match because Hardy was bleeding like a stuck pig. Holy crap. That match gave me that same sick feeling I get when I watch those "UFC Greatest Knockdowns" shows. But was it a real "shoot" match? Sure seemed like it. Should I go on one of those wrestling info sites to find out? See, this is why I didn't want to get into wrestling again...” - Bill Simmons
V-H1 is doing a Hogan Knows Best marathon from 8 to 11 pm local time tomorrow night.
