WWE House Show Results from Hampton Beach, New Hampshire 7-29-05

    I Went to the Raw house show on Friday night in Hampton Beach, New Hampshire. The Casino Ballroom holds only about 2,000 people and the small crowd only intensified the event, as the show had a very ECW-like feel. The fans were into every match, from the opener to the main event and most waited in the parking lot hoping for some autographs. The majority wanted Cena's obviously, as he was the hometown hero (lives in West Newbury, about a 10 minute ride) and received by far the largest pop of the night. However, Cena escaped out of the front of the arena shortly after the show ended and most fans were waiting in the back.

    Rosey, Eugene, and Edge signed a bunch of autographs walking to their seperate cars on the way out of the arena. Edge had a few smarks screaming at him of course (including myself), but seemed like a pretty cool guy. Snitsky was being a jerk and refused too but was posing with a few hott ladies for a picture. Alot of Snitsky Sucks chants outside. Kurt Angle and Arn Anderson (who watched the event from a closed off area) did not sign autographs, but Arn (who walked to his car with somebody resembling Ricky Steamboat, not sure if it was him though) was appreciative of the support the older fans were giving to him, he just seems like a private guy. Angle was the last superstar to leave and shook a few hands but hurried off. The refs, especially Jack Doan, were very talkative outside after the event and signed many autographs while chatting about the wrestling buisness for several minutes with fans while sitting on their car hoods. A few people thanked the refs for bringing the WWE to Hampton and they thanked them for coming out to see the WWE live.

    Here are the matches, I may not get everything exactly correct but it was something like this:

    1st match: The Hurricane and Rosey vs. The Heart Throbs for the Tag Team Titles
    A decent first match, with Rosey pretty much dominating throughout and the fans going crazy for his power moves and chantinf "Rosey, Rosey!" Catcalls to Stacy echoed throughout the Ballroom. The Hurricane and Rosey won and paraded around ringside with Stacy Keibler.

    2nd match: Snitsky vs. Viscera
    Before the first match celebrations ended, Snitsky came out and captured Stacy. Viscera came out in defense and the match then began. Viscera's gimmick seems to be catching on better then anything else has in his career. Pretty dull match, but Big Vis gets the win to the crowds delight.

    3rd match: Kerwin White vs. Chris Cage
    Cage, although a newcomer, managed to get most of the fans on his side at the beginning by playing to them. Kerwin came out to his Frank Sinatra theme music and hilarious attire. He hated on Italians and since a large majority of the area is Italian, many took offense to that. I started a Chavo chant which spread throughout the arena and he seemed agitated by it, dismissing his old self and his ways. Kerwin wins by cheating. Just a hilarious gimmick...

    The Coach then came out to heel heat and made a few announcments. Firstly, since Cena disrespected GM Eric Bischoff on Raw, he would be defending his title tonight against Edge. Also, because Shawn Michaels likes to disrespect icons, tonight he will face Ric Flair 1-on-1.

    4rd Match: Victoria vs. Christy Hemme
    Victoria gets basically no reaction while Hemme is really over. Not a bad match at all, considering the participants, and it appears as if Christy is working on her wrestling. Hemme wins with a split legdrop that busts open Victoria. Victoria beat on Christy after the match with the Widow's Peak

    5th Match: Big Show vs. Chris Masters
    Masters comes out first and gets heavily booed, while Big Show recieves a huge ovation. Show works on Masters for awhile with slams and the like, but Masters lowblows him in the corner for the DQ. After the match, Big Show chockeslams Masters. This fued has just begun and I don't think the WWE wanted a clear winner because if Show won it would ruin Masters hype and if Masters won it would make Show look weak/vulnerable.

    Intermission. Big Show is caught outside smoking a cig. Fans rush to buy a 15 dollar program.

    6th Match: Shelton Benjamin vs. Carlito for the IC Title
    Crowd is split, with about 60% rooting for Shelton. Carlito is really over here with his shirts selling well. Good match that spills around ringside. At the end, Carlito uses the ropes to get the win. Shelton got a standing ovation when he recovered and walked to the back and even Carlito fans realized his talent in the ring. Nice touch.

    7th Match: Shawn Michaels vs. Ric Flair
    Match of the night, really entertaining and the Casino Ballroom was just electric. Michaels was cheered much louder then Flair but the crowd loved both guys. Lots of chops and punches thrown. Chants of Hogan and Hogan Sucks filled the arena immediatly. During the back and forth match, HBK pulled down Flair's tights and exposed his ass, don't know if it was intentional or not. Micheals finally wins with the Sweet Chin Music after getting out of the Figure Four. After the match, Michaels grabs the mic and says he has been approached by many asking if he is heel or face. He claims he is whoever you want him to be and he will expose the truth about Hogan whether the people backstage like it or not. At this point, the majority are booing him and chanting Hogan, really a split crowd however.

    8th Match: Kurt Angle vs. Eugene
    Crowd hated Angle and was solidly behind Eugene. Angle claimed he could not challenge Eugene for the medals unless it was a Raw or PPV but would still kick his retarded ass. Kind of uncomfortable considering there were a few mentally challanged in attendence. Eugene really portrayed his gimmick well, going into the crowd with the medals and trying them on children and really getting on Angle's nerves. These two have great chemistry together and it was an entertaining match. Eugene gets the surprise win and the crowd goes crazy like on Raw. Got to give Angle credit for jobbing to continously jobbing to Eugene.

    9th Match: John Cena vs. Edge for the WWE Title
    Edge comes out without Lita...they are probably selling her injuries she sustained on Raw. During Edge's entrence, Kane's music hits and he looks terrified while the fans pop. When he realizes Kane is not there, he gets pissed off at the cruel joke. He grabs a mic and rips Kane and then the person nobody wanted him to mention, Matt Hardy. A worker around the ring looks like Matt Hardy and Edge destroys her, although finally realizing his mistake and stopping it.

    Cena comes out to one of the largest pops I've ever heard in my life. Signs were waved across the arena and it seemed like every other fan was wearing a Cena shirt. This guy is THE man in the WWE right now, no doubt about it. The match itself is good too. Cena finally gets the win with the FU. I have a feeling a Edge-Cena fued is coming relativly soon, maybe at Survivor Series or something. Edge is a very convincing heel and it's working far better then his face run did.

    After the match, Cena played to the crowd telling them he's been going to Hampton Beach since he was 12. He talked for awhile and closed it up by saying he loved each and every one of the fans there.

    Overall, I beleive this was better then a Raw. No commercial breaks and some actual wrestling with a small, rabid crowd of professional wrestling fans. Can't get much better then that. Almost every big Raw superstar showed up which was impressive to me.

    1. Hurricane and Rosey w/ Stacy beat The Heart Throbes for the Tag Team Championship after Rosey and Hurricane hit their double team move. Note: Rosey lost his mask during the match

    After the match, Snitsky came out and was about to attack Stacy but the 500 lb. love machine came out for the next match.

    2. Viscera beat Snitsky after Snitsky tried to pick up Viscera but Vis landed right on top of Snitsky.

    Coach came out and said that it will be Ric Flair v. HBK and John Cena v. Edge earlier tonight. He was also was the next Divas match

    3. Christy beat Victoria after a face-plant DDT. After, Victoria then hit the Widows Peak on Christy.

    4. Kerwin White beat Mike Cage (i think) after Kerwin used the ropes. Before the match Kerwin talked about how the white people were great and that shit. Tons of "Chavo!" chants.

    5. Big Show beat "The Masterpiece" Chris Masters after Masters hit a low blow. After the match, Show Chokedslamed Masters. No attempt for the MasterLock whatsoever

    Intermission....

    6. Carlito beat Shelton Benjamin after a Flat Liner then holding on to the rope. Very mixed reaction from the crowd.

    7. HBK beat Ric Flair after HBK hit the Sweet Chin Music. Tons of "Wooooos" and HBK chants. More people were behind HBK. After the match, HBK got on the mic and talked about Hogan and how he, HBK, never took any short cuts and blah blah blah.

    Kurt Angle came out and talk about losing his invitational on Mon. So he asked the GM for a match v. Eugene. sssooooo..... it happened!

    8. Eugene beat Kurt Angle after Eugene's own Angle Slam. Very funny. Eugene mostly hung out with the crowed during the match. Eugene also did his own Ankle Lock on Angle but Angle reversed it. Everyone was screaming for Eugene the whole time.

    Then it was time for the Main Event, Cena v. Edge! During Edges entrance, Kane's music hit. Edge looked scared but then got on the mic. He mainly talked about Monday and Matt Hardy. Then some guy "happened" to be in the ring and Edge attacked him thinking he was Matt Hardy. Then Cena came out and the place exploded.

    9. Cena beat Edge after hitting the F-U. Edge actually had the match won after he hit Cena with his briefcase but the ref was down. Then, while the ref was still down, Cena hit Edge with the briefcase!

    After the Match, Cena stayed in the ring. He talked about being from West Newbury, MA (which I live a town away from) and about how he came to the beach all the time. The his told the crowd to scream as loud as they could. And that was all.
