Here is a recap of Hogan on Larry King Live tonight.
The whole family was on the show and they were on for almost the entire hour. The first five minutes were devoted to the Natalie Holloway investigation in Aruba. King stated the show is a runaway success (obviously he didn't do his homework).
Nick has a new haircut, a longer version of Heidenreich's new hairdo (both kids appear far older than their age).
King asked about how the idea for the show came about. Hogan said people approached him about five years ago around the time the Osbournes were a big hit. Hogan said they declined as he wanted to keep his family's privacy in tact.
Hogan said at first the main idea for the show was to help get Brooke a break with her music career. Hogan believed it would even the playing field with the LIndsey Lohan's, Ashley and Jessica Simpson, etc. Hogan said in the end the show is about the whole family and families can watch the show and relate.
Hogan said he is quite surprised with the success the show has had. King asked Linda about having cameras in their house all the time. Linda said at first she was not thrilled with it, but over time she became use to it and the crew became part of the family. She said it was not to big of an adjustment as there are always a lot of people in there home (friends of their kids, wrestlers, etc.).
King asked Brooke about the show. Brooke stated she believes the show will give her a level playing field now in the pop music world. Brooke stated she graduated from high school at 16, but is waiting on attending college.
Hogan said he didn't want Brooke to get into the entertainment business at first, but said it is in her spirit so he his supportive now. Hogan said Nick is getting into acting has already been in one movie and tomorrow will be reading for a part in "The Fast and the Furious 3".
King asked Nick about being Hogan's son. Nick said it has its good and tough parts. Nick said he is considering getting into the wrestling business but is waiting for now, wants to focus on acting.
Brooke said Linda is actually the tougher parent, and Hulk is a "softee". Brooke mentioned that Hogan cried during "The Lion King". Hulk piped up disputing this. Brooke then said his eyes just watered a bit. King mentioned that Nick dates and he is younger than Brooke. Nick said he really isn't dating, just having fun. Brooke believes there is a bit of a double standard.
They aired the clip where Hogan is interrogating the 22 year old regarding his sex life. King said the boy was 17, they all jumped in and said he was 22. Hogan called it a supervised field trip. Stated he had two people (didn't mention the names) hiding in the park the whole time following them. Linda said it was a bit much. Brooke said looking back now she was not as good of a judge when it comes to judging guys and stating she would not have gone out with that guy now.
Hogan said Brooke is 17 and Nick is 15. King asked about Brooke's music career. Hogan said Larry Rudolph is handling it now and they are negotiating for a deal. Hogan said she has a boy who is a friend but they are not serious. Hogan said he lives in Detroit. King mentioned Summerslam. Hogan said he will be 52 (he said he turns 52 August 11th) when he gets in the ring with Shawn Michaels.
King brought up when Hogan was a heel. Hogan said he tried to be but the fans cheered him anyway. King said Hogan will be wrestling on the August 8th Raw. Showed the clip of the condom in Nick's dresser. Nick said they went to an AIDS convention and it was in the gift bag. Hulk seemed skeptical of Nick's story but said he was glad it wasn't found in Brooke's or he would have been really worried.
Linda said they went through his dresser because they received a voice message from a girl talking about being pregnant and they were concerned. Linda said they are not the nosey parent type. They went to callers. One asked how to become a wrestler. Hogan said you have to quit everything in your life and dedicate everything to become a wrestler.
King asked how he got started. Hogan said he was a fan growing up. Hogan said wrestling was much more barbaric back then. Hogan said he broke his leg the first day in training to become a wrestler. King asked Linda if she knew he was a wrestler when they met. Linda said she did not.
She said she went to the movie actually going to see E.T. but the line was too long, and went to see Rocky III. She said she enjoyed his part and thought he was an actor. She said a couple of weeks later he came into the bar she worked at and it went from there. Linda said she did not watch wrestling and actually stating wrestling was not on tv on the west coast at that time.
King asked the children about watching Hogan wrestle when they were growing up. Brooke said she was terrified, Nick said he thought it was cool. King asked Hogan to describe wrestling. Hogan said it is a preconceived ending, but physically real. Hogan said his career was different due to his success.
Discussed how people would come after him to make a name for themselves, mentioned hearing stories about people going into the ring to break his arm, etc.
King asked Brooke about her music. Brooke said it is a mixture of pop, rock and soul. She said she writes all of her music. Currently working in L.A. and Las Vegas. Caller asked Hogan to take his bandana off. Hogan said it would blind all of the cameras. King told him to leave it on.
Brooke's clothes were then discussed. She said she gets a bit of a bad rap about her attire as she is five foot eleven inches. She said on a smaller girl the clothes would look fine but due to her size some times they look more skimpy. She said she feels older than 17 but tries to still be a kid.
Hogan mentioned he knew she would be a star when at the Wrestlemania in Seattle he was hanging out with Vince McMahon and Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst and heard this huge roar from the crowd and said the commotion was due to Brooke walking out to take her seat.
Hogan confirmed there would be a second season of "Hogan Knows Best". Caller asked about Brock Lesnar. Hogan said he definitely wants him back, stated he made a mistake trying to play for the Vikings as wrestling is in his blood.
Hogan stated he hasn't received any negative media criticism from the media for wrestling at his age. Caller asked if Hogan was surprised he was cheered during his match against Rock at Wrestlemania. Hogan stated he was definitely surprised as he was suppose to be the bad guy and Rock just had a movie released.
Caller asked about Owen Hart's death and stated they do not watch wrestling anymore after Hart passed away. Hogan said it was a tragedy and that it changed the entertainment aspect of the business. Hogan said no one would ever come from the ceiling again after that.
Brooke said it was difficult with Hulk gone all of the time, but he was around more after the NWO ended. King asked if Antonino Rocca was in the Hall of Fame. Hogan said "oh yeah he is in".
Caller asked if Hulk would be making more movies. Hogan said he would. He mentioned a role he has playing Zeus. He mentioned that he believes it is a film Lil' Bow Wow is in. Hogan said he would be appearing at the Molson Centre in Montreal in a couple of weeks. Final caller praised Hogan for coming to see his son right before he passed away due to cancer. Hogan mentioned some of the charity work that he does.
