WWE SmackDown! Results - June 30, 2005

The show starts with a recap of Teddy Long making the announcement for tonights six way match for the new SmackDown Title. Credits.

Muhammed Hassan and Daivari come out to the ring. We are told that tonights match will be a five man match since Big Show was drafted to RAW. Hassan talks about Independence Day coming this weekend. Hassan says that America dedicates a day to equality to all men, but he does not feel like a free man. Neither does Daivari. They feel like a prisoner in their own country and they are not going to take it anymore. But it ends tonight, when Hassan wins the match to become SmackDown Champion. Hassan will then be on top of the world, looking down on everyone who has looked down on him. Hassan brags about his victory over the Big Show last week, and says he will beat four other men tonight. Hassan says that the Undertaker should not even be in the match tonight, as he lost to JBL two weeks ago. Hassan says that the Dead Mans day is over, and it is his time. The lights go out and the gong rings. Taker makes his way down to the ring. Hassan and Daivari look intimidated, and Daivari ducks out of the ring. Hassan stands his ground, and tells the Undertaker he is glad he came out. Hassan says maybe Taker is not like the other gutless Americans. Hassan says that when he said the Day of the Dead Man is over, he meant that Taker has had a great career and beaten all the greats. Except him, Muhammed Hassan! Taker grabs Hassan by the throat, but Daivari hits Taker with a chair from behind. Taker chokeslams Daivari, and Hassan leaves the ring and makes his way up the ramp staring at the Dead Man.

MATCH 1: PAUL LONDON vs. CHAVO GUERRERO for the WWE CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP. Just like last week, Chavo and Paul get a few minutes into the match when Juventud, Paychosis, and Super Crazy come out on lawn mowers and interrupt the match.

WINNER: NO CONTEST

They beat up both men and even hit the timekeeper. Juvi gets the mike and asks if there is any Mexico in the house. Juvi tells the Mexico in the audience that the gringos think they are fat and lazy. And they are right. But they should rise against the gringos. Juvi then says he wants to introduce us to his familia. Psychosis says everyone knows who he is. Super Crazy then introduces himself. Juvi says now you can join the revolution. Juvi then says he is The Juice, and they are not Mexicans, they are the Mexicools!

A video of the Eddie Guerrero/Rey Mysterio feud is shown, leading up to their match last week. Josh Matthews is backstage with Eddie, and he asks Eddie why he was smiling after he lost his match with Rey last week. Eddie says it is because he knows the truth, and Rey had better come to the ring tonight and beg Eddie not to tell the truth.

Melina asks Joey and Johnny is Paris called her back. She tells them that Paris, Nick and Jessica, etc are coming to see her first match tonight. Johnny reminds her about Tom and Katie. Melina says she is gonna destroy Michelle, and for the boys to wait here. Tonight is all about Melina.

MATCH 2: MELINA vs. MICHELLE McCOOL. Melina comes out with the paparazzi, but no Nitro or Mercury. Standard chick fight, with Michelle dominating early on, until Melina hits a cheap shot on Michelle. Melina powerbombs Michelle off the top rope and puts her feet on the ropes to pin Michelle.

WINNER: MELINA

After the match Nitro and Mercury come out and give the Snapshot to Michelle, then Heidenreich comes out, chases them off and checks on Michelle.

Backstage Benoit is shown preparing for the match tonight.

Eddie Guerrero comes out to the ring. He says that everyone saw the match last week with Rey. And everyone saw Rey beat him again. Everyone must think he is a loser. But the only loser in this is Rey Mysterio. Because Eddie is a winner in life. He has overcome obstacles and problems that other people can only dream about. Eddie has done a little soul searching, and took a camera along. And Rey might be interested because it involves one of his family members. The footage show Eddie at a playground, and he reminds Rey that when this all started he told Rey the he would end up hurt. Eddie shows Reys son Dominique playing in the background. Eddie asks Rey is Dom likes bedtime stories and secrets. Eddie gives Dom some candy and watches him play. Eddie says he loves Dom, Dom loves Eddie. Eddie asks Dom is he likes secrets, and bedtime stories. Dom says yes, and Eddie says he will tell him a bedtime story he will never forget. The footage ends, and Eddie asks Rey if he should share the secret with the world. Rey comes out with no music. Eddie asks Rey if he thinks its time for Dom to know their secret. Eddie asks if Rey wants to hit him, and practically begs for Rey to hit him. Eddie shoves Rey down, but Rey does not hit him. Eddie says no one beats Eddie Guerrero, and he always wins no matter how. Eddie tells Rey to beg him not to tell the truth. Rey gets on his knees and seems to beg Eddie. Eddie says thats what he thought, then asks Rey if he wants some candy. Eddie chews some, then spits it in his hand and shoves it in Reys face. Eddie tells Rey to chew on that and leaves.

The footage of Teddy Long announcing the elimination match for the new SmackDown Title tonight is shown again. A pinfall, submission, or dq/countout can cause an elimination. Two men will be in the ring at once, and tags will be used. JBL comes out, then Hassan, Booker T, then Benoit. Instead of Taker Teddy Long comes out next, and he says since Big Show was drafted the new draft pick will be the sixth man. And he is CHRISTIAN! Taker comes out next, he always has to be last. You couldnt let Christian be last and steal your thunder could you Taker. Takers gong hits and he appears in the ring. Everyone bails except Christian who has his back turned. He turns around to see Taker and it's on.

MATCH 3: JBL vs. MUHAMMED HASSAN vs. UNDERTAKER vs. CHRIS BENOIT vs. BOOKER T vs. CHRISTIAN. Taker beats on Christian for a bit, then Christian tags in Hassan as we go to commercial.

When we come back Taker is beating on Hassan. Taker hits the Old School, then JBL blind tags Taker and comes in, but Hassan tags in Benoit before JBL can get on him. Benoit takes it to JBL with some blistering chops then a snap suplex. Benoit beats on JBL until JBL pokes Benoits eye and takes control. JBL hits a neckbreaker and running elbow drop for a near fall. JBL whips Benoit, but Benoit counters with a jumping double forearm, then hits the Triple German Suplex for a near fall. Benoit and JBL trade chops, then JBL tags in Hassan who is not happy. Hassan gets control over Benoit and gets several near falls. Benoit counters a move into a Northern Lights Suplex for a near fall. Benoit then hits Hassan with some nasty chops then a German Suplex. Hassan ends up face to face with Taker, and he punches him. Taker is now the legal man, and he comes in and beats on Hassan. Hassan crawls away to the announce table and grabs a chair. Taker grabs it and hits Hassan with it. TAKER IS ELIMINATED BY DISQUALIFICATION. Hassan leaves and goes to the locker room, it is not clear whether he is eliminated or just leaving.

Back from commercial Booker T and Benoit are in the ring. They trade some nasty chops, till Benoit takes control with some high knees for a near fall. Benoit locks in and abdominal stretch on Booker. Booker fights out. Booker goes for the Scissors Kick but Benoit counters and locks in the Sharpshooter. Booker fights out, so Benoit locks in the Crossface. Booker crawls to the ropes, and JBL tags himself in and goes after Booker. JBL beats on Booker, till Benoit blind tags himself in. Benoit hits a superplex on Booker, then JBL blind tags in and DDTs Benoit and gets the pin. BENOIT IS ELIMINATED BY PINFALL.

Back from commercial JBL is beating on Booker. Christian comes in and locks in a rear naked choke on Booker. Booker fights out and flapjacks Christian. Booker goes for the Scissors Kick, but Christian counters into the Unprettier, which Booker counters and hits a heel kick. JBL tags himself in and goes for Booker. JBL goes for a powerbomb, but Booker counters. Christian tags himself in, and comes off the top onto JBL and gets a near fall. Christian beats on JBL, but runs into a back body drop. JBL whips Christian into the corner, but he reverses into a Tornado DDT and gets a near fall. The crowd really seems to be behind Captain Charisma. JBL hits a neckbreaker then locks in a choke. CC fights out and goes for a running cross body block, but JBL catches him and hits the fall away slam. CC tags in Booker, who comes in and takes it to JBL. Booker hits a missile drop kick for a near fall. Booker then hits the Bookend for a near fall.

Back from commercial Booker is getting the upper hand on JBL when CC tags himself in and surprise pins Booker. BOOKER T IS ELIMINATED BY PINFALL. While CC celebrates JBL surprises him with a Clothesline from Hell and gets a pin. CHRISTIAN IS ELIMINATED BY PINFALL.

WINNER: JBL

Teddy Long comes out and says he has some good news and bad news. Bad news is that even though JBL won, he is not the SmackDown champ, as there is no need for one now. The good news is that JBL is Number One Contender to the last draft pick, WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION BATISTA! Batista comes out and poses with the belt for the crowd, as JBL looks on in disbelief.
