WWE SmackDown! Results - May 26, 2005

The show opens with shots from the I Quit match at Judgement Day. Credits.

Carlito comes out with his bodyguard Matt Morgan for the Cabana. Carlito says his guest tonight is cool. The man who made the biggest impact at JD. Its Carlito! Carlito brags about beating the Big Show at JD, until Teddy Longs music hits and he heads down to the ring. Teddy talks about the draft, then tells Carlito that tonight there will be a Battle Royal, and the winner picks his own opponent. Carlito says that is cool, he will win and face John Cena. Teddy says that Carlito has another match first, a rematch with the Big Show! Carlito is not happy at this news.

Backstage Josh Matthews asks Rey Mysterio how he feels after Eddie beat him Sunday with a chair. Rey says that Eddie should have taken his life, because nothing can stop Rey. He will make Eddie pay.

MATCH 1: MNM vs. Hardcore Holly and Charlie Haas for the WWE Tag Team Titles. Mercury and Nitro come out with the belts hanging from their crotches. Very funny. MNM gets themselves DQed after attacking Holly with a chair.

WINNERS: HARDCORE HOLLY and CHARLIE HAAS by DQ.

After the match Charlie Haas chases MNM around the ring with the chair, and MNM pose on the ramp.

Clips from the Booker T/Kurt Angle match from JD, then we go to Steve Romero backstage who is with Book and Sharmell. Book says that Sharmell is tough, but she says he did all the work. Sharmell says she will be prouder of Book after he wins the Battle Royal tonight, and goes after the WWE title.

John Cena comes out to thunderous applause, and he poses with the WWE title. Cena says there was talk about him being a bad champ, a one hit wonder. Two words changed that, two words that never came out of Cenas mouth. And that is why THE CHAMP IS HERE! Cena tells JBL that he must feel like he lost everything, he quit. JBL comes out to the ring and says he makes no excuses. Cena was the better man. But Cena will burn himself out, and when he does JBL will be there to pick up the pieces. Cena tells JBL that he had a tribute for him, but now he doesnt want to show it. JBL talks him into it, and a video plays. It starts with some shots of JBL from his video, then cuts to JBL saying I QUIT at JD over and over. JBL is pissed, and leaves while Cena poses for the crowd.

MATCH 2: Carlito with Matt Morgan vs. The Big Show. Matt Morgan gets thrown out after cheating, then Show makes short work of Carlito. Show wins after a chokeslam.

WINNER: BIG SHOW

After the match Matt Morgan runs out and attacks Show. He picks up Show and F-5s Show onto the announce table.

We see a recap from RAW of the ECW events, then Kurt Angle watching in his dressing room.

MATCH 3: Kurt Angle vs. Jobber in the Kurt Angle Invitational. Kurt grabs the mike before the match and says that this is a dark time for him. He says that at JD he was beat by an inferior man, and humiliated by his gutterslut wife. But this isnt the worst thing. This ECW PPV is worse. Kurt talks about how terrible ECW was, and mentions the show he attended in 96. Kurt says that he will buy some tickets and lead a group of wrestlers to ruin the ECW show. Kurt then looks right at Tazz and says he will bounce around Tazz's ECW buddies like Paul Heyman bounces checks. Tazz just takes off his glasses and stares at Angle. Kurt then tells the jobber that tonight is going to hurt. Kurt asks his name, but then attacks him before he can answer. Kurt beats his around before making him tap with the Ankle Lock.

WINNER: KURT ANGLE

Kurt then grabs the mike and says that the Battle Royal should gets started now.

MATCH 4: Winners Choice Battle Royal. Rey is attacked by Eddie on his way to the ring. Lots of good spots in the match. Matt Morgan keeps pushing Carlito back in the ring. Kurt Angle wins after eliminating Rey Mysterio.

WINNER: KURT ANGLE

Kurt grabs the mike and says that next week, his opponent will be Sharmell!
