CWF MID-ATLANTIC'S LIVE EVENT HELD ON MAY 21st IN PFAFFTOWN, NC

The following results are from the CWF Mid-Atlantic live event held
Saturday, May 21st, at the West Central Community Center in
Pfafftown, NC. All bouts are sanctioned by the AWA, the American
    Wrestling Association:

    1. Rising Generation League Champion Kid Justice defeated Keenan
Quinn by pinfall to retain the title (3:10)

    2. Big Daddy Cole defeated Alex Adonis by pinfall (8:20)

    3. "A Very Handsome Man" Mitch Connor defeated AWA Mid-Atlantic
Heavyweight Champion "Slick Diddy" Ric Converse by pinfall in non-
    title action (6:40)

    4. "Dangerous E" Corey Edsel defeated Brass Munkey by pinfall (12:29)

    5. Tank Lawson defeated Rob "Boogie Woogie Man" McBride in NO DQ
    Rules action by pinfall (12:23)

    6. AWA Mid-Atlantic Television Champion Jesse "El Fuego" Ortega
defeated Scar Stevens (w/Destiny) by pinfall to retain the title
    (9:52)

    7. AWA Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Champions The $outh$ide Playas (J-Money
& Will B. Smooth w/Kiyia Moka) defeated Garry "Madd Trucker" Stevens
& The Shadow to retain the titles (20:09)

Officials: Morgan Dollar & "Wild" Shane West

    Notes:
Garry "Madd Trucker" Stevens made his way to the ring after watching
several minutes of the Converse/Connor match. Stevens blasted
Converse in the back with "Little Billy" giving Connor the opening
he needed to drop Converse with a deadly DDT and score the pinfall.
The non-title win rocketed Connor to the top of the contender
    rankings.

Challenger Scar Stevens apparently had won the AWA Mid-Atlantic
Television Title after what appeared to be a pinfall victory over
Jesse "El Fuego" Ortega. The official re-started the match after
GeeStar informed the referee about the outside interferance by
Scar's valent. Referee Morgan Dollar then asked ringside fan Jimmy
Harris, who also said that illegal interferance was involved. The
match was past the 9 minute mark when referee Morgan Dollar stopped
it originally and Ortega got the pinfall in 4 seconds after it was
    re-started to retain the title.

$outh$ide Playa J-Money was injured during the main event after
suffering a piledriver on the tile floor from Garry "Madd Trucker"
Stevens and had to be carried off by CWF officials and wrestlers
from the back. After Will B. Smooth carried his team's load for
almost 5-minutes alone against Trucker and Shadow, AWA Mid-Atlantic
Heavyweight Champion "Slick Diddy" Ric Converse came to the aid of
the Playas. Referee "Wild" Shane West allowed the substitution and
Converse was finally able to get his hands on the Madd Trucker!
Converse and Stevens eventually brawled to the back leaving Smooth
and Shadow alone in the ring and special referee Shane West shocked
the fans by trying to help Shadow win!!! A failed double team by
West and Shadow resulted in West being knocked out of the ring in
the closing moments of the bout. Assistant Commissioner Michael
McAllister ran to the ring to check on the fallen official. Gemini
Kid ran into the ring area, slid in, and made the final three-count
as the crowd erupted as Smooth pinned Shadow to retain the tag
    titles.

AWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION TAKAO OMORI SET FOR TITLE DEFENSES IN
    US TOUR

AWA World Heavyweight Champion, Takao Omori, is set to arrive in
June for a World Title defense during his US tour. Omori will be in
action Friday, June 10, in Waldron, Michigan, and again on Saturday,
June 11, in Bay City, Michigan. Also Omori is scheduled to be in
Saginaw, Michigan on Sunday, June 12. The AWA sanctioned Michigan
territory, UCW, will host these events.

Omori is slated to defend the title against the AWA ranked #1
contender, Steve Corino. Corino hopes to etch his name in the
history books as only the third man to ever hold both the AWA and
NWA World Hwt. Titles. Currently only Pat O'Connor and Gene Kiniski
have ever accomplished this rare feat.

Corino tried unsuccessfully to capture the AWA crown jewel in Japan
from Omori, but feels that facing him in the United States will give
him an advantage. "Omori definitely had the home turf advantage
defending the AWA World Heavyweight Title in Japan. The fans there
gave him tremendous support during his bouts. Omori won't find that
support in Michigan in June. The tables will be turned and I hope
to become the new AWA World Heavyweight Champion."

Omori has turned back Corino in every AWA World Title bout they have
faced each other in so far, including the tournament to crown the
championship. However each encounter has been in Japan. Could
the "home field advatange" be the key to Omori's domination over
Corino? Perhaps the confrontation in the United States will give
Corino the edge he's been searching for. Winning the World Title is
every wrestler's goal, but this win would propel Corino into a very
elite list of World Champions. However that dream could end with
the deadly impact of one Omori "Axe Bomber" lariat. Omori's plan is
to once again make short work of the challenger and return to Japan
the conquering hero for Zero-One MAX!
