- Nunzio vs. Akio is scheduled to be the WWE Sunday Night Heat match.
- The feeling is that, sans Heidenreich vs. Jordan and Carlito vs. Big Show, WWE actually assembled one of the better SmackDown-only undercards for tonight's PPV. However, unless one of those matches becomes a match of the year candidate, the show will largely be shaped by the booking of John Cena vs. JBL: almost all backstage believe WWE needs to go overboard with props and blood to make it work.
- Based on a successful house show match, there's more backstage anticipation than one might expect for tonight's MNM vs. Holly/Haas match.
