Smackdown Overnight rating & replay news from pre-emptions, and Backlash/Hogan note

Last night's WWE Smackdown did a 3.2 overnight rating. This number seems low, but note that Smackdown was either delayed or pre-empted due to NBA Playoff games or the President's press conference that aired last night. We'll keep you posted on the final number.

For instance, the UPN Channel 9 in New York City was pre-empted due to the President's press conference. It will replay this Sunday at 5 pm, for those who are wondering.

There are reports going around by wrestling fans that the WWE is using a pre-recorded message through the telephone of Hulk Hogan speaking to entice people to buy this weekend's Backlash Pay Per View. The WWE is obviously banking on older or casual fans possibly deciding to purchase the show and they are using the phone call method, mostly used to swing voters in a Presidential election, to increase buys.
