WWE SmackDown! Results - April 7, 2005

No credits this week, JBL heads out, without the limo to open the show. Tony Chimel makes sure to emphasize Former WWE Champion when he introduces JBL. JBL calls Cena and the crowd trash, and reminds us that he is a wrestling god. He reminds us that Cena left in handcuffs last week, and does not deserve to be champ. JBL says he wants the title back, and the people need him as champ. Eddie Guerreros music hits and Eddie heads out in a lowrider, getting a great reaction from the crowd. JBL insults Eddie and tells him to get out. Eddie wants to know if he heard right, did JBL say that these people need him as champ? Eddie says the people want him, and if anyone is gonna challenge Cena first, it's going to be him. Booker Ts music then hits, and he comes down. Book tells both of them to hold the phone. Crowd shuts Book up with Eddie chants. Books says he will be first for a shot at the WWE title. WEEELLLLLLL, ITS THE BIG SHOW! Big Show comes down, and when he tries to speak the crowd shuts him up with Eddie chants too. Are you listening Vince? Eddie has a huge smile on his face. JBL yells at Show, but Show shuts him up and says he is gonna challenge Cena. Rey Mysterios music then hits, and the hometown crowd loves it. Rey looks half Shows size. Rey says that is Eddie wants to challenge Cena, then so does he, cause they are in the 6, 1, Kurt Angles music hits. Kurt comes down and says he cannot believe what he is hearing. Kurt says that JBL, Show, and Eddie all lost at Mania, and Booker was not even on Mania. Kurt then tells Rey that in order to challenge the WWE champ, you have to be an adult. Kurt says that Sunday after Mania, he was arrested. For armed robbery. Because he stole the show at Mania! He made Shawn Michaels tap, so if anyone gets the shot, it will be Kurt Angle! I agree Kurt. JBL says he is the only one that deserves a shot, and for them to get out. Teddy Longs music hits, and he comes down to clear up this mess. Teddy tells JBL that this is Teddys ring. Teddy tells JBL that he had no rematch clause, so he has to earn a rematch. Teddy then tells them all they are gonna have to earn a shot. Teddy says he will give each man an opportunity to earn a shot. Teddy says that tonight JBL will wrestle Rey Mysterio. Rey and JBL stare each other down.

MATCH 1: The Cruiserweight Champion Paul London vs. Billy Kidman for the title. Chavo Guerrero is at commentary. Chavo complains about being teamed up on in the battle royal last week. Paul and Billy wrestle a great fast paced match, and Paul wins with a roll up. Chavo taunts Paul after the match, allowing Billy to attack Paul from behind. Billy holds Paul while Chavo punches and kicks him.

WINNER: PAUL LONDON and still CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPION

Backstage Luther Reigns, Chavo, Nunzio, Spike, Akio, and some chicks are talking about Mania. Luther says he said Show was gonna embarrass them, and he did by losing to Akebono at Mania. Luther talks trash about Show, and does an impersonation of Show at Mania, pulling his tights into his crack like the Sumo thong Show wore. Luther turns around, and Show laughs at him. Show says he lost to Akebono, and it was an honor. Show tells Luther to meet Show in the ring. Luther says its on. Show tells Luther that he might want to pull his tights out of his mouth, and everyone but Luther laughs at this.

Torrie Wilson is getting ready for the bikini contest later.

MATCH 2: Big Show vs. Luther Reigns. Show throws Luther around, and pins him after a chokeslam.

WINNER: BIG SHOW

The new WWE Champion, John Cena comes out, thankfully without a spinner WWE belt. Cena poses with the belt, and the crowd loves it. Cena starts to speak, but the crowd chants Cena. Cena then says The Champ is here! Cena tells JBL that he survived the triple threat, the fatal four way, survived the Big Show in a barb wire steel cage, beat the Undertaker, beat Eddie in a cage and bullrope match. but The Champ is here! Cena says he may not talk like a champ, he may not fit the dress code, that he is not a superstar because he puts himself on the same level as his fans. Cena says they say he has no respect for the WWEs championships, that when he modified the US title JBL and purists got offended. Cena says he has news for them, take a last look at the WWE title, because if they think what he did with the US title was disrespectful, then lock the country club doors because the champ is here! Cena goes out of the ring and asks us if we hear the crowd chanting for him. Cena goes into the crowd and says this is what we do! Cena says it does not matter if it is Big Show, Booker T, JBL, or even Brooklyn Brawler, Iron Mike Shaw, or SD Jones, OUR TIME IS NOW! THIS IS THE CHAIN GANG! AND WE AINT HARD TO FIND, IF YOU WANT SOME, COME GET SOME! THE CHAMP IS HERE!

MATCH 3: Kurt Angle Invitational. Kurt Angle comes out with guards and medal, and grabs the mike. Kurt tells Cena to celebrate now, because the real highlight of Mania was Kurt making Shawn tap out. Kurt tells Cena to enjoy his time as champ, because he will make Cena tap out faster than you can say fluke champ. Kurt says that next week he will face Eddie, and once he makes Eddie tap Cenas days as champ are over. Kurts opponent comes out, and Kurt asks him his name. He says his name in spanish, and he is from San Diego. Kurt beats him around and makes him tap to the ankle lock.

WINNER: KURT ANGLE

Kurt gets the mike after the match and tells Eddie that he will tap out next week.

Backstage Miss Jackie is getting ready for the bikini contest.

Steve Romero is with Carlito backstage, and he asks him about being on Pipers Pit. Carlito says that everyone was falling asleep, and he had to spice it up. He said there was a guy in a skirt, and another in daisy dukes. Thats no cool. Carlito is cool. Carlito says that if Piper had his own show, then he should have one. Next week Carlito is gonna host a new show, Carlitos Cabana. And anyone who thinks he is cool can come down and try to prove it. Carlito asks Steve if he thinks he is cool, Steve says sure. Carlito bites the apple, and Steve changes his answer. Carlito says that is what he thought.

Rey is getting ready, and Eddie comes over excited about Reys match tonight. Eddie says he is gonna have Reys back tonight, but Rey says that did not work for them last week. Eddie says that was the past, but Rey wants to do this on his own. Eddie says he knows how angry JBL is, and he does not believe Rey can beat JBL tonight. Rey says he can beat anyone, he beat Eddie at Mania, and he will beat JBL tonight. Eddie does not look pleased at this.

Michael Cole is in the ring to host the Bikini contest. Jackie is out first, and she takes off her robe on the way to the ring and poses for the crowd. Dawn comes out next looking real fine with stocking, hat, tie and coat over her bikini. She strips down slow. Torrie is out next and is just in a robe and bikini. Dawn should so win this, just for showmanship. Cole is about to call for the vote from the crowd when Joy, Michelle, and Lauren come down. Joy says that they are the new blood, and they should be in the contest. She also sucks up to the crowd in spanish. Cole lines the ladies up, and goes to the crowd to vote. Torrie and Joy get the most cheers, but Torrie wins.

MATCH 4: JBL vs. Rey Mysterio. Cole and Tazz tell us that the winners of the 3 matches, JBL vs. Rey, Booker vs. Show, and Eddie vs. Kurt, will meet in a triple threat match to determine the Number One Contender. JBL comes out in limo this time, with OJ by his side. JBL tries to use his power and size to his advantage, but Rey keeps him off balance with his speed. JBL finally gets his hands on Rey, and beats him down,t hen wears Rey out with a bear hug. Rey finally gains an advantage, and takes down JBL with a series of dropkicks. Rey gets JBL into position for the 619, but OJ trips Rey up. Eddie runs down and takes out OJ, and Rey hits the 619 and a seated senton, but Eddie runs in and pushes Rey off so he Eddie can attack JBL. Rey is disqualified.

WINNER: JBL

Rey is pissed, and Eddie tries to apologize, but the Bashams run down and attack. JBL, OJ, and the Bashams start to beat down Eddie and Rey, but Cena runs down and cleans house. Cena and JBL stare down as the show ends.
