WWE SmackDown! Results - March 24, 2005

We start the show with Tazz in the ring, and he introduces the Big Show, who comes out and joins Tazz in the ring. Tazz asks Show if he is worried about competing against Akebono in a Sumo Match at Mania, a match Show has no experience in. They show some clips of Akebono Sumo wrestling, and then Tazz tells us that next week Akebono will be on SmackDown and he and Show will have a weigh in. Show says that Akebono may weight more than him, but Show is bigger. Luther Reigns music then hits, and he drives a jeep out. Luther tells Show to stop talking about how big he is, that everbody knows. Luther is tired of hearing it, and tired of hearing about the match at Mania. Luther tells us the same thing that Tazz did, that Show has 0 experience at Sumo, while Akebono is a former champ. Luther says that Show will not only embarrass himself, but all of SmackDown. Luther says that he should face Akebono at Mania. And he is gonna prove it. Luther says he is gonna turn over the jeep he drove out in, with his bare hands. Luther tries, but cannot do it. Show laughs, so Luther runs down and attacks Show. Show fights him off, and hits the chokeslam. Show heads up the ramp, sees the jeep, and stops. Show stares at it for a minute, then starts rocking it trying to turn it over. Show fails the first time, but he tries again. Show still fails, so he slaps the windshield breaking it. Show then tries a third time, and tips it over. Show goes into a Sumo stance, then heads to the back.

Backstage Chavo and Eddie are arguing. Eddie tells Chavo to leave, but Chavo has something to say. Chavo tells Eddie that Rey is holding him down, and Chavo wants Eddie to challenge Rey to a match at Mania, to prove who is better.

Match 1: Orlando Jordan vs. Scotty Too Hotty. Scotty comes down and gets in JBLs face, and they fight. Scotty goes for the Worm, and hits it. JBL rolls out of the ring, then tells OJ that he wants Scotty. JBL goes back in, and the match is now Scotty vs. JBL. JBL hits a fall away slam, then the Clothesline from Hell for the win.

WINNER: JBL

Backstage Josh Matthews is knocking on Kurt Angles locker room door. Kurt opens up and sticks his head out. Kurt says he has a special guest for tonight from Shawn Michaels past.

Teddy Long comes out, and brings out Carlito dressed as Elvis. Carlito is not happy, and says this is not cool. Carlito says he can sing better than Elvis, and tries to sing. He sucks.

Backstage Eddie Guerrero heads over to Rey Mysterio in the locker room, and tells Rey that he wants to face him at Mania. Rey is surprised by the idea, and wants to talk about it later.

Match 2: Hardcore Holly and Charlie Haas vs. Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio for the Tag Team Titles. Before the match Taker appears on the tron and says that tonight he will make a sacrifice. The lights go off again during one point in the match. Eddie hits the Frog Splash on Charlie Haas for the win. Rey then gets a mike and accepts the challenge for a match at Mania.

WINNERS: EDDIE GUERRERO and REY MYSTERIO to retain the WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS.

Shawn Michaels music hits, and Kurt Angle heads out, wearing Shawns chaps and dancing around. Kurt stops and signals for someone to come out, and its Sherri Martel. Kurt Angle does all the HBK poses, and has Sherri kiss him on the cheek like HBK used to do. Kurt grabs a mike, and says that he has proved that he is a better athlete than Shawn, and tonight he will prove he is a better entertainer. He introduces Sherri, and reminds us that Sherri is the female voice in the song. Kurt says he hates the song, but he can do better than Shawn. Kurt tells them to hit the music, then sings his own song to the tune of Sexy Boy, with Sherri helping. Shawn Michaels appears on the tron, and says hello to Sherri. Shawn tells Sherri that she does not look so good, and I have to disagree. She looks real good for a woman her age. Shawn tells us that since we had to sit through a Kurt Angle retrospective on Raw, that he has one of his own. A nice video package of Shawns career plays, and Sherri seems proud of what her former charge has accomplished. This angers Kurt, who throws Sherri down and locks on the Ankle Lock. The refs runs out and pull him off as she screams.

Match 3: Dawn Marie vs. Michelle McCool in a catfight. Michelle gets almost no reaction. I think she could be really good, but she needs to be trained and have a character other than that of hot blonde. Terrible match, the only good part is when Dawn tries to rip off Michelles shirt. The lights start to go crazy, teasing Takers arrival. Dawn then pins Michelle with her feet on the ropes for the win.

WINNER: DAWN MARIE

Backstage Carlito is still dressed as Elvis, and Funaki runs up to him. Funaki asks Carlito where he is going. Carlito says he is leaving. Funaki then starts to do an Elvis impersonation, but Carlito smashes him with the guitar.

Match 4: Booker T vs. Rene Dupree. Match goes for a few minutes, then the lights go off and Taker appears in the ring. Booker T sees him and leaves, but Taker grabs Rene, and gives him Tombstone on the steel steps outside the ring.

WINNER: NO CONTEST

Teddy Long is in the ring, with podiums set up for a John Cena/JBL debate. WWE debates suck. The only good one was the Nowinski/Steiner one, because Steiner was so out of it he could not stay on track. JBL comes out first in limo, then Cena with his new music. Why couldn’t they wait until after Mania to change the music. Changing it 3 weeks before just confuses people. JBL reminds Cena that is Cena touches him, that Cena loses hit title shot. Teddy says that is true, unless JBL physically provokes Cena, Cena can retaliate. JBL gets on the mike and gives the same speech he always gives. Cena responds with an insult to JBLs limo. Cena then goes to the limo, and stabs the tire. Cena then spray paints JBL SUCKS on the side of the limo. Cena tries to get JBL to hit him, but JBL is too scared. JBL insults Cena some more, talking about how he is better than Cena because he has more money and class. Cena says he might look better in a tie, so he cuts off JBLs and hangs it from his shirt. JBL is still too scared to punch Cena. Cena grabs JBLs hat, pours water in it. Cena then puts it back on JBLs head. JBL still wont punch Cena, so Cena spray paints a yellow streak down his back, then FU on the front of his shirt. Cena then poses triumphant as she show ends.
