CWF MID-ATLANTIC TV TAPING THIS SATURDAY IN BURLINGTON, NC
CWF Mid-Atlantic returns to the Carolina Sports Arena in Burlington, NC this Saturday, March 26th, with a 7:30pm belltime. This is a huge TV Taping with a full card of great action! All bouts are sanctioned by the AWA, the American Wrestling Association.
** HISTORIC TITLE VS. TITLE BOUT THIS SATURDAY ** NEW TAG CHAMPS IN ACTION ** WHAT'S NEXT FOR OUT OF CONTROL MADD TRUCKER? ** COMMISSIONER TO ANNOUNCE FIRST EVER MATCH
As AWA Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champion Ric Converse compiled a modern day record of 4 title defenses in 15 days and all the fanfare that came with it, another champion was quietly setting his own record. Jesse Ortega defended his AWA Mid-Atlantic Television Title the same record 4 times in 15 days. Ortega has been content with the fact that Converse has been the one getting all the publicity over this record. However as Converse came ever so close to losing the championship last week, Ortega decided it was time to issue his own challenge.
Jesse Ortega called out the heavyweight champion on television to do something that hasn't been done. Ortega stated, "It's time to step up and see just who is the true top champion in the Mid-Atlantic territory!" Converse didn't waste much time in accepting the challenge issued... Both champions will be putting their belts on the line!
This Saturday night it will be champion versus champion, title versus title, as the AWA Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champion "Slick Diddy" Ric Converse faces AWA Mid-Atlantic TV Champion Jesse Ortega!
Also in action this Saturday will be the newly crowned AWA Mid- Atlantic Tag Team Champions, The $outh$ide Playas. The Playas team consists of J-Money & Will B. Smooth. Money is no stranger to championship gold in the Mid-Atlantic as this makes his record 3rd tag team title reign! The Playas have fought hard over the recent months to make their way to the top of the tag team competition and finally attained their goal last Saturday in Pfafftown, dethroning then champions Twisted Aggression. This week the Playas arrive back in Burlington with the tag belts and will be in action as defending champs!
Two weeks ago Garry "Madd Trucker" Stevens lived up to his name and then some. Stevens has been complaining for months since losing his company and it's heavyweight title (SWA) in a unification bout this past November, that he deserves a heavyweight title match. Stevens feels that Commissioner William L. Cross has passed him over when it comes to getting a shot at the AWA Mid-Atlantic Hwt. Title and has gone out of his way to attempt to injure anyone he has wrestled during this time. Commissioner Cross provided Stevens with time to air out his concerns about this to the TV audience, however Stevens went past his alloted time and was cut off by the production team to begin the next scheduled TV match.
This only upset the Madd Trucker even more, sending his literally over the edge. Stevens attacked one of the wrestlers and when ordered to leave the ring by referee Katie Kincaid, attacked the female official, beating her unmercifully! These actions brought out Commissioner Cross who then informed Stevens that if he didn't leave the building, he would never receive a title bout, nor any match ever again. Stevens reluctantly left as the injured Kincaid was carried out of the facilities to receive medical attention.
Stevens has already paid his record $1,000 fine and is expected to be at the Carolina Sports Arena this Saturday night. As he is once again not in the title bout, who knows what the Madd Trucker could be thinking this week?
Stevens is just one of many wrestlers that passionately want a shot at the AWA Mid-Atlantic Hwt. Title. Some wrestlers wait a lifetime... last week Gemini Kid received his first shot at the title in his career. It appeared that he had won the championship only to have his dreams crushed by Mikael Yamaha and manager Brad Stutts interference. Commissioner Cross reviewed the tape of that bout and the earlier match with Yamaha versus American Steel Ninja. In both instances, Yamaha made use of brass knuckles to change the outcomes. This Saturday night Commissioner Cross is going to announce a special bout for Mikael Yamaha. This will be a first time ever in Burlington and you can bet that Yamaha and Stutts are not going to be happy about it!
Plus see Rob "The Boogie Woogie Man" McBride, "Wild" Shane West, Xsiris, Brass Munkey, American Steel Ninja, Ultra Dragon, "Dangerous E" Corey Edsel, Alex Adonis, Jay Sinn, Tank Lawson, Mitch Connor, and more!
Don't you dare miss it!
