TNA Impact! Results - March 18, 2005

The show opens with shots from Destination X, then credits. Mike Tenay and Don West remind us that we will see two Six Sides of Steel Cage matches at Lockdown, then show us footage of Jeff Jarretts locker room after the title match Sunday. JJ is celebrating with New Age Outlaw, Chris Candido, the Naturals, Daggett the lawyer, and Monty Brown. JJ thanks Monty, and Monty tells him that JJ owes him one.

Match 1: Mr. 630 Jerrelle Clark vs. The new X-Division champion, The Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels. Daniels slaps Clark before the match, then pounds on him once the bell rings. Clark gets a near fall with a hurricarana pin, but Daniels then resumes pounding on Clark. Daniels hits a suplex, then a slam, then a springboard moonsault for a near fall. Daniels pounds on Clark some more, then goes for a backdrop. Clark rolls over, then unleashes some punches, then a dropkick on Daniels, then a tornado DDT. Clark goes up top, but Daniels gets up and crotches Clark on the top. Daniels slams Clark down, then hits the Angels Wings for the win.

WINNER: THE FALLEN ANGEL CHRISTOPHER DANIELS

Daniels gets a mike after the match, and brags about his victory at DX, saying he beat at 2 time X-champ, 3 former tag champs, and 2 former heavyweight champs. Daniels says he has proved he is the heart and soul of the X-Division, and he is now MR. TNA. Elix Skipper comes out at this point, and congratulates Daniels. Elix says that AJ and the fans dont know Daniels, but he does. And Daniels knows him, and knows what he will do to Daniels.

Match 2: Mikey Batts vs. Kid Kash with Lance Hoyt. Batts gets the crowd chanting for him, but Kash takes him down and pounds on him. Batts reverses a hammerlock into one of his own, but Kash reverses into a headlock and then takes Batts down again. They lock up into a test of strength, but Kash pushes Batts down and gets a near fall. Batts gets a near fall from a hurricarana style move with his knees, but Kash dropkicks him in the face and takes control with a nasty chop. Kash whips Batts, who reverses, then clothesline Kash over the ropes. Batts slingshots over the ropes, but Hoyt catches him and slams him into the post. Hoyt throws Batts over the top rope into the ring, and Kash hits him with a flying clothesline for a near fall. Kash then hits another flying clothesline for another near fall. Batts fights back with punches and clothesline, and rolls Kash up for a near fall. Batts then gets an implant DDT, but Hoyt distracts the ref. Batts goes over to Hoyt and yells at him, and Hoyt punches him in the face. This allows Kash to hit a slingshot head over heels dropkick almost all the way across the ring. Kash then hits the MoneyMaker for the win.

WINNER: KID KASH

Match 3: Chris Candido and the Naturals vs. Dustin Rhodes and Americas Most Wanted. They are not doing enough with AMW right now, and being associated with Dustin is not helping them. All six men brawl in the ring to start, then AMW takes the Naturals outside leaving Dustin and Candido in the ring. Candido ducks a clothesline from Dustin, who slides out of the ring. Candido goes after him. Candido and Andy Douglas double team Dustin, then throw him back in the ring where Candido goes to work on him. Candido hits a suplex for a near fall. Dustin and Candido trades punches, Candido whips Dustin to the ropes and goes for a dropkick. Dustin hangs on the ropes, Candido hits the mat, and Dustin gets a jackknife pin for a near fall. Dustin hits an atomic drop, then a clothesline. Candido gets to his corner and tags in Andy Douglas as Dustin tags in Chris Harris. Harris takes control with clotheslines, then a back body drop. Harris punches Candido, and pulls Chase Stevens into the ring and hits him with a jumping clothesline. Harris tags in Storm and they double team Andy, throwing him into Chase. Candido runs in and tries to clothesline both men, he gets caught and put on Dustins shoulders and he powerbombs him. Harris hits a bulldog on Andy, and Storm a superkick on Chase. AMW then picks up Andy and give him the Death Sentence for the win.

WINNERS: AMERICAS MOST WANTED and DUSTIN RHODES

Mike Tenay is in the ring and introduces Jeff Jarrett with the New Age Outlaw. Tenay asks JJ how JJ got Monty Brown to help JJ. JJ says he offered Monty more opportunities then Dusty Rhodes. JJ says that great minds think alike, and he and Monty where the only ones that knew what was going to happen. JJ tells DDP, Syxx-Pac, and all the others that they dont stand a chance. JJ brings out Monty, who shakes JJs hand. Monty cuts a great heel promo, but it really is about is kissing JJs ass. Monty kisses JJs ass and berates the crowd, and says nothing can stop him, JJ, and NAO.

OPINIONS: Montys heel turn is just another step in Jeff Jarretts ego destroying his company. Monty could have been the big star in TNA, TNAs answer to Hulk Hogan, Goldberg, or even Steve Austin. Instead, when he is getting more popular than ever, he becomes JJs lackey. Almost makes me want to give up on TNA, but I have spent too much time and money now to give it up just yet.

Dusty is in his office with Traci and Trinity, and he talks about Lockdown. Dusty names Traci his secretary, thanks to her teams victory at DX. Trinity is pissed, but Dusty says he signed both teams, then swerves us and says that Trinity is also his secretary still. So the match at DX was worthless. It sucked, and it had no consequences. Great.

Match 4: David Young vs. Shocker. Some great chain wrestling to start. Young gets a headlock, Shocker whips him off and Young runs the ropes while Shocker leapfrogs and ducks under him, before Young hits Shocker with a shoulder block that Shocker sells great. Young comes off the ropes, but Shocker takes him down and hits him with a dropkick. Shocker hits a springboard dropkick, and Young slides out of the ring. Shocker then dives over the ropes to take down Young. Shocker goes back in the ring and poses for the crowd, but Young comes back in and knocks him down while his back is turned. Young goes for a powerbomb, but Shocker counters into a hurricarana and then hit a bog boot. Shocker kicks at Young, who catches his leg, and Shocker uses that to roll Young up for a near fall. Young comes off the ropes and hits a kick to the face, then comes off the ropes again. Shocker catches him, rolls him up with a hammerlock, and gets the win.

WINNER: SHOCKER

Match 5: Buck Quartermain and Lex Lovett vs. DDP and Sean Waltman with Kevin Nash. Nash joins Tenay and West at commentary. Sean and Lex start, Sean wrestles circles around Lexk. Lex tags in Buck and Sean tags in DDP. DDP with a headlock, then a shoulderblock. DDP tags in Sean, who works on Bucks arm. Nash refers to Seans appearance on the Surreal Life, and says they edited out Sean beating up Peter Brady and leaving with Da Brat and the two 40s. Sean tags in DDP, who continues to work on Lexs arm, then tosses him out of the ring as we go to commercial. When we come back Sean is in control over Lex. Sean gets Lex in the corner and goes for the Bronco Buster but he moves and tags in Buck. They double team Sean, and then Buck hits a backdrop for a near fall. Buck tries to isolate Sean, but he forces him into the corner and Sean tags in DDP. Lex comes in too, and it seems the ref did not see Seans tag. Lex and Buck beat on Sean, then get a near fall. Lex chokes Sean on the ropes, the hits a slingshot guillotine for a near fall. Lex tags in Buck, and they double team Sean, who manages to fight out and tag DDP. DDP cleans house, and Sean hits the Bronco Buster on both men, and DDP hits the Diamond Cutter on Buck for the win.

WINNERS: DDP and SEAN WALTMAN

Nash goes in the ring and calls for Dusty. Dusty comes out with Traci and Trinity and asks whats up. Nash tells Dusty that he, Sean, and DDP want JJ, Monty, and NAO in the cage. Dusty says that he will let them know next week.
