WWE SmackDown! Results - March 17, 2005

Sorry for the short recap tonight, things were busy at work tonight.

Match 1: Kurt Angle vs. Marty Jannetty. Kurt gets on the mike before the match, and says that Shawn Michaels little "Rocker Reunion" on RAW will not prepare Marty for his match with Kurt. Kurt calls out Marty, saying he knows he can rock, lets see him tap. Marty gets a good chant from the crowd. Kurt works on Martys midsection for most of the match with a bear hug and leg scissors. Kurt locks on the ankle lock and Marty taps.

WINNER: KURT ANGLE

Teddy Long make an announcement that John Cena is not allowed to lay his hands on Teddy. Cena is also not allowed to touch JBL, or Cena will lose his title shot at Mania. Cena can only touch JBL if they are in a match together. And tonight JBL and the Bashams will face Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio, and John Cena.

Eddie Guerrero is in the locker room, and Chavo comes us looking for Rey. Chavo says that Eddie has become a disappointment. Chavo says that while Eddie is a tag champ, he was WWE champ. Eddie says he knows that Chavo is trying to come stir things up between he and Rey. Chavo says Eddie has changed, and only teams with Rey cause Rey beat him so many times. Chavo tells Eddie he does not deserve to be a Guerrero. Eddie is pissed at this, and throws some things around in anger.

Torrie and Joy are walking through the audience taking pictures with fans.

Match 2: Booker T vs. Luther Reigns. Bookers new wife is in the audience, and he kisses her on his way to the ring. Heidenreich makes his way out before the match starts, and yells at Booker. HR comes over to the commentary table, and Michael Cole tries to get as far away as possible. Standard match, and Book wins with the Scissors Kick. HR is angered by this, and gets up on the announce table. HR pulls out a new poem. The poem thanks Booker for showing him the light, and he can show the world the true Heidenreich.

WINNER: BOOKER T

Teddy Long is in the ring, and Eric Bischoff comes out to join him for the contract signing. Eric says that RAW will be dominant in this years interpromotional matches, and he calls out Randy Orton. Randy comes out, poses for the crowd, then shakes Teddy Longs hand, then Bischoffs. Eric then starts to call for Taker, but Teddy takes the mike and calls for Taker. Taker comes down and signs the contract. Randy gets the mike and tells Taker that he has nothing but respect for Taker and his legacy, but soon Taker will be 12-1. Randy says he is not like Takers other opponents, he is not afraid. Randy says that facing him will be like facing no one else on earth, because he is the legend killer. He signs the contract, then slaps taker in the face. Taker slowly takes off his hat, and the lights go out, thunder hits, and the titantron goes crazy. Randy is afraid now, and he takes off.

Lauren and Jackie are in the crowd with the fans.

Match 3: Paul London vs. Billy Kidman. Michael Cole reminds us that Paul is the Number One Contender for the Cruiserweight Title, but only says that Paul will get a shot eventually. Will it be at Mania? Good cruiserweight match, but not as good as Pauls matches on Velocity with Akio. Paul gets the win with the 450 Splash.

WINNER: PAUL LONDON

We see the concession stand, where Carlito has been forced by Teddy Long to help out selling hot dogs. Carlito sells a hot dog to a kid and keeps his change. When the kid asks for it Carlito squirts him with ketchup. When a guy asks Carlito what his problem is, Carlito spits apple at him, then closes the stand.

Michael Cole is in the ring and reminds us about the Big Show/Akebono Sumo match. Big Show comes out. Michael Cole runs down the match for us, and show us some clips of Akebono. Cole asks Show how he is preparing for the match. Show talks about how good Akebono is, but at Mania Akebono will find out that Show is the one person he cannot push around. I just hope Show does not wear a Sumo thong.

OJ is talking to JBL about the match tonight. OJ reminds JBL that he is the WWE Champ, and JBL gets an idea. He tells OJ to come with him, as he needs at witness.

Dawn Marie is in the crowd with the fans now, and when she sees Michelle posing with some fans too, she gets in her face and they brawl around the ring area. The refs come out and break it up. Michael Cole and Tazz run down the Main lineup, and man that video package is good.

JBL and OJ are walking backstage, and JBL walks up to Cena trying to get Cena to hit him. JBL insults Cena and rap, and says that Cena will never be champ. JBL even insults Cenas mother, saying she had to sleep with the landlord for rent. That is too far WWE, there is no cause for insulting a mans mother, fictional or not. Cena says JBL is a stupid as he looks, and that in five minutes when the bell rings, Cena will beat hi ass. And thanks for the motivation.

Match 4: JBL and the Bashams vs. John Cena, Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio. JBL and the Bashams are first, and OJ is with them. They all pose in the ring. Eddie and Rey head out in the lowrider next, then Cena who has new music and video. Cena wastes no time getting to the ring and attacking the cabinet. JBL stays out of the ring for most of the match, and the Bashams isolate Rey an work him over. Cena finally goes in illegally and takes down the Bashams, then JBL when he tries to attack Cena. Eddie hits the three amigos on Doug Basham, and Rey drops the dime on the back of his head and get the win.

WINNERS: JOHN CENA, EDDIE GUERRERO, and REY MYSTERIO

After the bell JBL tries to hit Cena with a chair, but Cena grabs it and advances on JBL with it. Cena almost bashes JBL and loses hit title shot, but thinks better of it, and bashes Danny Basham with it instead. Cena then sets the chair up, and sits next to JBL and says “You cant see me!” and poses for the crowd as the show ends.
