- Daniel Edler sent in the following:
- Sefton/Storm Confront At New Frontiers
» As was stated recently, Jack Storm’s ego has been spiralling out of control and travel buddy Spud put in a request to ride to shows without Storm. At the FWA’s New Frontiers event this past Saturday Sefton and Storm were both involved in the Open Invitational, during which two of ten superstar were chosen by the crowd to wrestle later in the night. Sefton wasn’t chosen – Storm was. Storm then went on to pick up the victory over Max Voltage in that match, while Sefton was left sitting in the wings. After his match had ended, Storm began taunting Sefton about how there was another loss to the streak he’s collecting in IPW:UK. A brawl then ensued, was broken up, and Sefton officially sent in his request today to face Storm at New Frontiers. Since IPW:UK promoters promised Sefton the pick of the roster (excluding people already booked into a match before the beginning of February), this match has been granted and added to the card.
- Samoa Joe Confirmed For IPW:UK Round Robin
» After weeks of speculation it can now be publicly revealed that the FINAL entrant in the IPW:UK Round Robin on March 20th, Orpington Halls, Orpington, Kent is none other than the former RoH World Heavyweight Champion and international superstar, Samoa Joe! Joe, in the country for the massive Wrestling Channel supershow in Coventry, will be wrestling exclusively for IPW:UK in the south. If you are from anywhere in England from the midlands down to the south coast, this is the CLOSEST and ONLY way to see Samoa Joe in action that weekend – not once, but twice… MINIMUM! Joe’s two opponents are ‘The Enforcer’ Martin Stone (the power behind the Team Charming stable) and the lovable fan favorite, Spud! Stone made his IPW:UK debut last month, destroying both of the Luchadores, the Lucha MC, a Lucha fan in the crowd as well as poor IPW:UK referee Chris Hatch! A true beast of a man, it will be a real ding-dong battle to see whether ‘Charming’ Don Charles’ Enforcer can make a real name for himself and defeat one of the biggest names in American indy wrestling right now, Samoa Joe. Spud made his IPW:UK debut at the first show, and returned last month to become the runner up in the Best of British: High Flyers match. Defeating Dragon Phoenix, Flaming Red and then Jonny Storm, Spud only fell at the final hurdle to Aviv Maayan but it was clear that night to everybody in the crowd that he’d done his duty. Fighting against two mammoth men, Spud will have his work cut out and will have to use the spirit he’s known for to become the first Round Robin winner in IPW:UK history! In Other News: -- Flaming Red and Paul Travell this week both signed on to continue their battle at Return of the Dragon. One of the deepest seeded IPW:UK rivalries at the moment is held between Red and Travell, and IPW:UK matchmakers have confirmed that they will collide in some form at ROTD on Sunday March 20th. -- The Extreme Measures (debut show) DVD is now back in stock. All orders made during the out of stock period will now be shipped this week. Extreme Measures will also soon be available through our friends at SmartMarkVideo.co.uk. -- Production of the third show, “Best of British 1” is now almost complete and the final touches should be added in-between now and Return of the Dragon in time for it to be on sale then.
- Therefore the current card stands as:
MAKE or BREAK - No Rules Tornado Tag Team Match ‘New Superstar’ Stevie Douglas & PWG Champion Super Dragon vs. Best of British: High Flyers Winner Aviv Maayan & El Generico If Maayan Wins: Stevie Douglas is removed from the active IPW:UK roster. If Douglas Wins: Stevie Douglas replaces Aviv Maayan as Best British high-flyer AND #1 contender to the IPW:UK title. If Dragon Wins: TBC. If Generico Wins: He receives a shot at the PWG title Super Dragon holds on an IPW:UK card. The Round Robin Tournament Spud vs. Martin Stone / Martin Stone vs. Samoa Joe / Samoa Joe vs. Spud Tony ‘Superstar’ Sefton vs. ‘Sadistic’ Jack Storm Paul Robinson vs. ??? Plus, Andy Boy Simmonz, Paul Travell, Flaming Red and more.
