WWE Raw Brand Houseshow results from Madison Square Garden - 2/25/05

  I was at the Raw live event last night at msg and it was really amazing. I was sitting in section 344 (WE WANT FRONT ROW, that will make sense to anybody who was sitting near my section.) When the opened the doors to the lobby there were some big wooo chants for this msg worker with a flair style haircut. At 630 we were let into the arena. From that time until start time they played songs from the Fozzy CD.
  
  730 hits and the show is on. Howard Finkel comes out to welcome to the jungle theme and really starts up the crowd. The national anthem plays and big USA chants (even bigger than any other crowd b/c we are NEW YORKERS) and the first match is announced.
  
  Shelton Benjamin vs Christian with Tomko for the IC title
  Benjamin comes out first with a big pop, Christian comes out to big heat. At the beginning Christian slapped Benjamin in the face and benjamin started to take control. At one point benjamin was thrown to the outside and tomko went looking for him but shelton climbed under the ring to the other side, went to the top rope and took down christian. Funny spot in the match was christian running towards benjamin and shelton puts his hand up stopping christian. Tomko gets involved throughout the match and gets into the ring just to get thrown out. Shelton hits the tbone on christian match over.
  
  Chris Masters vs Val Venis
  Masters got no reaction to his entrance. He is a pretty well built guy. From my seat i could see his muscles and i was far away. Venis comes out and gets a great pop, mostly from the ladies. Masters dominates the match with alot of boring chants, crowd got into it when venis started to get control but masters locked in the full nelson for the win. He posed on top of venis for awhile then left.
  
  French dudes vs regal and tajiri for the tag team titles
  Grenier takes the mic and sings two lyrics and is interrupted by the champs. Big heat obviously for the french duo and good pops for tajiri and regal. No USA chants during the match though since the favorites are japanese and british. Regal was doing all types of flips during the match. Tajiri hits a big kick to the head and regal follows with a knee to the head for the win.
  
  From here i am not sure of the order of the matches until intermission but that doesn't matter
  
  Trish vs Victoria vs Molly for womens championship
  Trish comes out first and gets a great reaction. She tries to play it off but you can see she was smiling the entire time. Next molly (no one cared) and then victoria who got half the reaction of trish. Victoria was double teamed at first but fought back hitting that ass shaking flip move that she does on both molly and trish at the same time. Trish stopped getting involved near the end and victoria hit the widows peak only to get chick kicked in the head. Trish pins molly for the win. Gets cheered and leaves.
  
  Finkel asks everyone to stand up at this point and asks the crowd to welcome out the coach. Everyone groans and sits back down. Coach's voice was very high pitched and annoying probably someone in audio made it that way. He says finkel did a great job announcing him but it's time to leave. Coach introduces billy graham and doesn't let him get into the ring. Instead he interviews him infront of the ring. Graham gets a big pop for saying that boston sucks which it does. RED SOX SUCK. Coach then says that graham's record at wrestlemania was terrible and that he needs to get his ass out of MSG. So graham says i'll leave but since your talking about asses i am about to have a bowel movement and he needs someone to wipe his ass. He punches coach and leaves to a bigger pop.
  
  Hussan with his little buddy vs Rhyno
  Hussan comes out first and the boos drown out whatever the hell he said. Something about bringing peace to nyc. his buddy takes the mic and spits jibberish into the mic and rhyno's music hits. He runs to the ring and hussan gets out of there. Big ECW chants for rhyno throughout the match. Match was dominated by hussan with some spots by rhyno. Hussan worked over rhynos leg by hitting it against the ring post a few times. Rhyno got control and set up for the gore and started to charge but stopped because of his leg. Hussan hits the sto and match was over. Hussan then puts rhyno in the camal clutch for 3 seconds then he left. Rhyno got up and posed for the crowd for more ecw chants.
  
  Finkel introduces april's cover girl for play boy christy hemme. She is the special guest ring announcer.
  
  Snitsky vs Kane
  Snitsky comes out first and walks toward christy but kane's music hits to a huge huge huge pop. This match was advertised as hardcore but they didn't act that way. Ref gets knocked out so snitsky gets a chair and puts it on kanes neck only to have kane sit up and chokeslam snitsky. Obivously kane wins. Odd spot during the match was kane performed a drop kick. Everyone in the arena was so shocked and gave him a standing o.
  
  Intermission - they shows WM 21 commercials and everyone enjoyed the 3 raw ones. The one with booker and eddie wasn't shown, They showed a WM history desire vid and the biggest pop during the vid was for bret hart.
  
  We come back and finkel offers a case of snickers cruncher to a "lucky" fan in some seat number. Section 239 i believe.
  
  Chris Beniot vs y2j in a submission match.
  
  Big pops for both guys. In my opinion the best match of the night. During the match jericho tried to hit the lionsault but beniot countered by putting his legs up and jericho countered that by setting up the walls. Beniot had jericho in the cross face a few times and ended up holding it in for 2 minutes at one point to which jericho tapped. Both guys shook hands and got a big pop for that.
  
  Edge vs HBK
  
  Edge comes out first with a pop. He seemed really shocked and tried to draw heat to him but it didn't work. Next out was hbk to the biggest pop of the night so far. Great match with one slow spot. It was during a bow and arrow submission and these guys in the ring level seats like 2 dozen rows behind ringside got into a huge fight. Security swarmed the area. I only saw one of the guys. He was bald and and pretty big. It was funny how hbk, edge and the ref started watching what the guys were fighting about. So anyway, edge begins to draw heat as he mocks hbk. hbk started calling the band and missed the sweet chin music, edge hit some move and starting calling the band. He went for the spear and hbk hit the sweet chin music instead. 123 match over. When edge was leaving he got booed pretty badly.
  
  Finkel announces another intermission.
  
  The crew brings out steel cage equipment and the crowd goes crazy. This was like the b team cage though.
  
  The cage is set up and we are ready for the main event
  
  Flair and hhh vs batista and orton in a cage (only way to win is pin or submission
  Flair comes out to a chorus of woooo's and pops. Then hunter who comes out to an even bigger pop. The orton who comes out to a bigger pop then hunter. He enters the cage and gets double teammed for at least 2 minutes. Then batista chants start and his music hits and the crowd went completely nuts. Not a single person was sitting down. He comes into the cage and goes after flair while orton takes care of hhh. Flair gets busted open on the first shot at the cage. Orton and batista switch and flair tries to leave the cage only to have his trunks pulled down.Not the best site to see but alot of people took pictures which really grossed me out. hhh and batista leave the cage and fight on the outside and flair and orton do the same. At this point flair's entire face is covered in blood. Orton hits the rko on flair onto the floor. The hhh hits orton in the head with a chai! r. This was not the normal chairshot, this was like extreme even for ecw chairshot. Medics and officials run to the outside and get orton and flair out of there which makes it a one on one match. Triple h tries to hit batista with the chair and misses and runs away into the ring. Batista enters the cage and tells the ref to lock it tight. triple h tries to leave by climbing only to have his pants pulled down. More pictures. Batista slips and lands crotch first on the ropes. hhh takes over and out of nowhere batista hits forearms after forearm. He send triple h into the cage a few times and hits the spine buster. Then the batista bomb and pins him for the win. Crowd went even crazier. He posed on the cage for a few minutes and finkel said come back next time.
  
  Overall it was a great show 8 out of 10 in my opinion. I was disappointed they didn't have the pyros like they used to at msg shows and the masters match was terrible. They need to give the guy a mic or something so that way people will boo him instead of chanting boring. With the exception of the french dudes, christian, tomko, snitsky and hussan everyone got a great crowd reaction. They announced the next msg show would be tues april 19 for a sd taping and the next ny show was in 2 weeks in long island which was a sd live event. They advertised angle vs taker and jbl and orlando vs big show and cena. I wouldn't take that for much b/c the msg card for last night changed a few times. When they first advertised it they said the main event was orton vs batista vs hhh and that edge would face beniot in a submission match and that hbk would face flair but i am not disappointed.!

  The Raw Brand returned to MSG, and was greeted by poor attendance. Roughly half capacity, with a crowd full of youngins.
  
  Opening Match was Shelton vs Christian (w/Tomko).
  
  End of the bout came when Shelton hit the Exploder for the Pin.
  
  Benjamin Via Pinfall.
  
  
  Next bout was the "Masterpiece" Chris Masters vs. Val Venis in a TERRIBLE Match.
  
  Loud "Boring" chants.
  
  Ending came when Masters locked in that Full nelson submission.
  
  Masters via Submission.
  
  
  Next match was Tajiri/Regal vs. La Resistance.
  
  Ending came when Regal hit a powerslam on Conway.
  
  Tajiri/Regal via pinfall.
  
  
  Next was the women's title between Trish, Victoria and Molly.
  
  Trish got the win with a chick kick.
  
  Trish via pinfall.
  
  
  Muhammed Hassan (W/ Divari) vs Rhyno was next.
  
  Rhino missed the Gore, and got planted with Hassan's pieface move to end it.
  
  Hassan via pinfall.
  
  
  Kane vs Snitsky was up next, and Kane took it with a choke slam. Kane was fairly over.
  
  Kane Via Pinfall.
  
  
  Up next was the Submission match, Y2J vs Chris Beniot. Both men were over huge.
  
  End came after several reversals, resulting in Beniot finally winning via the Crossface.
  
  Beniot via Submission.
  
  next up was HBK vs Edge, and HBK was over HUGE.
  
  Shawn gbot the duke with Sweet Chin Music.
  
  HBK via Pinfall.
  
  
  And finally in the main event... Orton/Bautista vs. HHH/Ric Flair
  
  Flair bladed heavily, and was carried out after a RKO on the floor.
  
  Orton was carried out moments later after HHH dented a chair over his skull.
  
  Finish came after a Demon Bomb.
  
  Bautista/Orton via pinfall.
