Royal Rumble News: Orton's "concussion," Angle's quick elimination; match with HBK @ 'mania, more

  • As we reported yesterday, Paul London was unhurt by the high impact closeline he sustained from Gene Snitsky at the Rumble yesterday. This was only an angle, the same as Randy Orton's "concussion" during his match with Triple H. On the subject of Orton's "concussion," the angle is likely to be played off on Raw tonight. The one serious injury of the night ironically took place when the CEO of the compaay, Vince McMahon, injured his leg when trying to get into the ring.

  • Kurt Angle's appearance in the Rumble match was fairly short yesterday, something that surprised many people. Angle has been working under the pain barrier recently and was only in the match for a short period of time to prevent the possibility of further injury.

  • WWE's plan was for Kurt Angle and Shawn Michaels to build an initial foundation for their feud which will eventually culminate in a match at WrestleMania XI, something they definitely did. That being said, it still surprised a lot of people that Angle got eliminated so early given his high standing in the company.
