    TNA Impact Results - January 28, 2005

The show opens with a recap of the main event press conference last week that announced Kevin Nash as the Number One Contender. I have heard some defense of Kevin Nash being in the main event, as he is a big name. Well I don’t care. There are other big names that are much better wrestlers and much better people than Kevin Nash. DDP, or even Scott Hall would be a better choice. Not to mention, who are we supposed to be cheering? No one will cheer for Jarrett, and Nash tells us he is just about the money. Heel vs. Heel. This match will really suck.

    Credits

Mike Tenay and Don West welcome us to the show as the pyro and lasers go off. And here come music to my ears. Kid Kash’s music that is. He and Lance Hoyt (what happened to the name Dallas?) are out, and their opponents are Chris Sabin and Jeff Hardy. Hoyt and Kash attack Sabin while Hardy is posing on the turnbuckle. Sabin and Hardy fight back and take down the heels. Kash ducks out of the ring, and Sabin dives over the ropes to take him out. Sabin tries a springboard splash on Hoyt, but Hoyt catches him and hit’s a fall away slam. Hoyt tags in Kash and they double team Sabin. They isolate Sabin and use more double team moves on him. Kash throws Sabin into the corner a few times, then hit’s a NICE fishermans shoulder breaker on Sabin. Sabin kicks out, and makes a comeback, hitting a windup backbreaker on Kash for a near fall. Sabin sits Kash on the tb and runs at him for a move, but Kash jumps off and hits Sabin, and both men are down. They crawl to their corners, Sabin almost gets to Hardy, but Abyss runs out and pulls Hardy off the corner. They begin to brawl around the tables as Kash and Hoyt double team Sabin. Hoyt is distracting the ref as Sabin hits a nice move I don’t know the name of and pins Kash, but no ref. He gets up, but gets a boot to the face from Hoyt. Kash hits the moneymaker for the pin!

Commercials. Against all Odds, Feb 13!

Back from commercial and Mike Tenay and Don West tell us that Abyss vs. Hardy at AaO in a Full Metal Mayhem match is official.

Backstage we see DDP confront Nash and Hall. DDP reminds Nash that they had a deal in the match at Final Resolution, and Nash broke it. DDP gets in Halls face, telling Hall he is Nashs lackey. Hall and Nash tell DDP to get lost. Looks like we will see DDP vs. Hall at AaO.

Back at the ring here comes Chris Candido to face Sonny Siaki. Chris Daniels is at commentary, and Mike and Don ask him about the Ironman match at AaO. Sonny and Chris have a decent match, but the main focus is on Daniels. Siaki needs a better push. They should bring back Desire, turn them both heel, and let Siaki act cocky. People often say he looks like the Rock, well let him act kind of like it. He is a great wrestler, he just needs a push. Maybe bring back Jorge Estrada and let them be a heel tag team. Just don’t bring them back as the Flying Elvis. Siaki goes for a cross body block, but Candido rolls through and pins Siaki with his feet on the ropes. Well Candido finally gets a victory over a non-jobber. Too bad it had to be Siaki.

We go to Dustys office, where he has Traci and Trinity. He asks them who they are bringing to TNA. Trinity tells him she has two big bad wrestlers. Eight feel tall she says. Traci and Trinity leave, but Trinity gives Dusty a little kiss on the cheek before she leaves. For those who don’t know, Traci and Trinity are supposed to be making teams, and whosever team wins will be Dustys secretary.

We are back, and here comes The Alpha Male, Monty Brown! Johnny Devine is in the ring, and this should not take long. He attacks Monty before the bell, pulling Montys ring jacket over his head. He throws Monty in the corner, then whips him into the opposite corner. He hangs Monty on the rope, then climbs to the top and hit’s a kick off the top rope for a near fall. He punches at Monty, who no sells and begins to pound on Devine. He hit’s the Alpha Bomb, but Team Canada runs in. Monty press slams Petey Williams over the top rope to the outside, the POOOUUNNCCESSS Eric Young and knocks him right out of the ring. He then whips Devine and hit’s the POOOUUUNNNCCEEE for the win,. Team Canada runs in and beats down Monty, and Nash and Hall come down to join in. DDP runs in to help Monty, and Nash and Hall take off as we go to commercial.

We see a video package of Jeff Jarretts trip to South Korea to defend the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. This is the fourth continent he has defended the title in.

Back to the ring, and Mike Tenay brings out JJ for and interview. Jarrett comes out, and gives the same promo he always gives. Ya’ll want to know why I hate Jarrett, this is why. He is nothing but a mid carder who has a main event position because he has power backstage. He wrestles, looks, and talks like a mid carder. Every promo he gives is the same, and none are good. Same reason Triple H bores me. Same promo every time. At least Trips looks like a champ. But anyway. JJ reminds us that he is King of the Mountain, Planet Jarrett, etc. JJ tells us the belt is his life. Yeah, because no one else will hire you.

Back from commercial and Shane Douglas is interviewing AJ Styles about his upcoming Ironman match with Chris Daniels. AJ says it is about time. He knew this match was going to happen, it had to. He says Daniels is good, and has been in some great matches. But he says to be the champ, you have to survive. AJ has survived World Title matches, X Division title matches. Can Daniels survive the Ironman match?

Back to the ring, and here come the Naturals. Next out are Cassidey Riley and Erik Watts, whose arm is in a sling. We are told this was supposed to be a tag match, but Watts cannot compete. Out comes Dustin Rhodes to be the new partner. I am glad Riley has a regular job with TNA, I think he could be really good. Riley and Dustin take control early on, but the Naturals take over attacking Rileys fingers Raven broke last week. We are told Dustin will be facing Raven at AaO. Man, who did Raven piss off. If life were fair he would be the heel champ right now instead of Jarrett. But anyway, Raven runs out and attacks Dustin, letting the Naturals hit the Natural Disaster on Riley for the win.

Were back and it’s main event time! Jeff Hammond is at commentary. Shane and Kazarian are out, and we are reminded that BG James and Jeff Hammond will face them at AaO. Please don’t remind me. And here comes Shane and Kazarians partner, Primetime Elix Skipper! They will be facing the 3 Live Kru, who come out and give us the standard speil. Can someone tell me why Ron Killings is stuck doing this crap? He is a great wrestler, a great talker, rapper, he is the total package. He should be in the main event. Hell, he doesn’t even get to talk most of the time with the Kru. The Kru take control early, hitting a Wassup leg drop on Skipper.

    Commercial.

Back from commercial and Killing sin is control, until Kazarian crotches him on the top rope. Shane goes to work on Killings but he fight back, till Shane hit’s a twisting overhead belly to belly suplex. Elix comes in and hits Killings with some stiff kicks. Kazarian comes in and he and Elix try to hit a double team on Killings, but Killings ducks and Kazarian takes out Elix. BG is tagged in and he cleans house. Konnan locks in a submission on Elix while BG hit’s the pump handle slam on Kazarian. The ref is distracted by Konnan, so he does not see the pin or Shane run in and drop an elbow on BG. Kazarian lays an arm over BG, and the ref sees it and counts the pin. Jeff Hammond complains about the cheating, and runs over to get the refs attention. Shane, Kazarian, and Elix run over and grab Hammond, who tells them to bring it on! Hammond joins the Kru in the ring, and the heels and faces taunt each other as the show ends.

    Have a good one everybody!
