It has now come to light that the Rock wanted his opponent at WrestleMania to be none other than Sting. However, as I reported last week, the Rock and McMahon are still in discussion over contract issues and until this is resolved, the Rock appearing at WrestleMania looks increasingly unlikely.
There is a suggestion that the contract negotiations are stalling because McMahon wants to the show the Rock he doesn't "need" him as badly as the Rock may think. Steve Austin's arrival back into the picture may also have a lot to do with McMahon's sudden change of attitude.
As I said, it looks unlikely the Rock will be at WrestleMania and it isn't known at this point if WWE have an alternate plan for Sting should he agree to do the PPV.
