QUICK RESULTS FROM CWF MID-ATLANTIC'S TV TAPING HELD ON JANUARY 22ND
IN BURLINGTON, NC
The following results are from the CWF Mid-Atlantic TV Taping held
Saturday, January 22nd, at the Carolina Sports Arena in
Burlington, NC. All bouts are sanctioned by the AWA, the American
Wrestling Association:
1. "Dangerous E" Corey Edsel pinned "Rock 'n' Roll" Matty Dee
2. Garry "Madd Trucker" Stevens pinned Chris Amos
3. Ultra Dragon (w/Kid Kazi) pinned Drake Tungsten
4. "Wild" Shane West pinned Matt Houston
5. Jay Sinn & Donnie Dollars defeated The $outh$ide Playas (J-Money
& Will B. Smooth) & AWA Mid-Atlantic Tag Champions American Steel
Ninja & Brass Munkey in a non-title three-way tag
6. Tank Lawson pinned Chris Amos
7. Twisted Aggression's Sean Powers defeated Michael McAllister by
count-out
8. Krissy Vaine and Amber O'Neal battled to a double pinfall, with
both ladies shoulders down for the three count in the AWA Womens
World Title Contender Match
9. Mikael Yamaha (w/Brad Stutts) pinned Chris Collins
10. AWA Mid-Atlantic Television Champion Jesse Ortega pinned Gregory
Vercetti to retain the title
11. AWA Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champion "Slick" Ric Converse
pinned Xsiris to retain the title

Notes: Rob "The Bull" McBride came out between the first two matches
and asked Commissioner Cross to join him in the ring. McBride then
proceded to tell about how close to him "Dangerous E" Corey Edsel
has been the last few years, and in a surprise move, announced his
retirement from pro wrestling, vowing "The Bull" would never return
to the CWF ring.
**Kid Kazi addressed the crowd, making the announcement that the
Kamakazi Kid's injuries were much more severe than first reported
and that he has effectively been forced to quit pro wrestling. Kid
Kazi went on to say that Kazi has also vowed to return.
**During the "Hot Seat" interview segment hosted by Gemini Kid,
Mikael Yamaha attacked and painted a yellow stripe down Gemini's
back as Alex Adonis, Jay Sinn, and Donnie Dollar$ held him down.
**Commissioner Cross annouced that there will be a rematch between
Krissy Vaine and Amber O'Neal to rank both ladies as contenders to
the AWA Womens World Title.
**Commissioner Cross also announced that even though he has refused
to sanction a double chain match between the AWA Mid-Atlantic Tag
Champions Brass Munkey & American Steel Ninja and Twisted Aggression
(Sean Powers & Mitch Norris), that the main office of the American
Wrestling Association has announced that THEY will sanction the
match for the Night of Mid Atlantic Legends in Seagrove NC on
Saturday Feb. 5th!

AWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION CROWNED IN JAPAN
The finals to fill the vacant AWA World Heavyweight Championship saw
the following tournament results from a sold out Korekuen Hall, in
Tokyo, Japan:
AWA Title Tournament (3-way match): Steve Corino defeated Masato
Tanaka & Simon Diamond in 10 minutes, 13 seconds when Corino used a
lariat on Diamond for the win and advance to the finals.
AWA Title Tournament (3-way match): Takao Omori defeated Kensuke
Sasaki & Kohei Sato in 8 minutes, 8 seconds when Omori used an Axe
Bomber on Sato for the win and advance to the finals.
AWA Title Tournament Finals: Takao Omori defeated Steve Corino in 24
minutes, 53 seconds with the Axe Bomber to become the 32nd AWA World
Heavyweight Champion.
Commissioner William L. Cross has already entered into negotiations
to secure a World Heavyweight Titel bout in the Mid-Atlantic
territory in the coming months.
