WWE House Show Results from Tyler, Texas 1-22-05

Raw was live 1-22-05 at the Oil Palace in Tyler Texas. There was a crowd of what I estimate to be about 6000 people.

The show started with the singing of the National Anthem with was interrupted by La Resitance who grabbed the microphone and began trashing America and Tyer Texas to alot of heat. They were interupted by Tajiri and Rhyno who ran in and got lots of USA chants going. The match was solid with La Resistance getting the victory.

Next was Chris Masters who came out and forced the ring announcer to open the ropes of the ring so he could enter. Then he did a great heel promo saying he was better than Da Vinci's art. He was interupted by the Hurricane who came out to a good pop. This was another solid back and forth match with Chris Masters getting the win with a move that reminded me of an F5.

Third match was Molly versus Victoria. Victoria ends up getting the win here.

Next was Mohammad Hassan versus Val Venus. Hassan gets the mike and says that it is true everything is bigger in Texas. Texas egos, Texas Prejustice, Texas Hypocrites, Texas Racism and Texas Women he was then interrupted to Val Venus' intro. After alot of interferance by Davari, Hassan picks up the win.

Then Christy Hemme came out to thank fans for voting her the winner of the Diva's Competition then to show her thanks she took the T-shirt gun and began launching shirts into the crowd. She was stopped by The Coach who told her he was embarrased that she had resulted to doing this after all he had done for her and that she should just leave the ring. She then shot him in the groin with the gun. He got up laughing saying she was so stupid that she missed. He then to her to just get out of his site and turned his back on her she then connected on a great low-blow(which from my angle obviously hit his thigh) He rolled out and she danced for us and left the ring.

Out comes Snitsky to massive heat. The Kane comes out to a very large Pop. This was a good match with both of them appearing bandaged and banged up from Monday's Raw episode. There were lots of Kane cheers throughout the match. In the end Kane connects with the choke-slam for a 3 count.

After a brief intermission it was time for Christian versus Shelton Benjamin. Christian and Tyson come down to alot of heat. Tyson stopped to have words with a fan who had several great signs throughout the night. This one had a photo of Tyson with is head opened up and a large arrow pointing from a Space for rent sign to his head. Shelton comes out to a loud pop after he enters the ring he wals back over to that fan with the sign and brings the sign back into the ring for everyone to see. Tyson is furious. He hands it back to the fan and the match begins. After a pretty funny back and forth match Shelton Benjamin wins.

Next Evolutions music cues up out comes the animal known as Batista, this is the second time I have seen him in person and am still amazed at his size. He comes out to a deafening POP. Then comes Y2J who also comes down to a very loud pop. The Y2J chants were very loud and Batista starting looking around and hearing that he left the ring, when yhe chants turned back to Batista he came back out. This was a knockout match that ended with a Batista Bomb on Jericho.

Next is a submission match with Edge versus Benoit. The guy with the signs now has a "Pacifiers for Edge" sign with 4 pacifiers dangling off it. Edge comes out looks at the sign argues with him for a moment then he enters the ring and begins to claim that he is the righful champion that he did not tap out. This of course started a "You tapped out chant." Out comes Benoit to alot of cheers. After a back and forth battle Benoit wins when Edge taps out to a cross-face. After the match Edge corners up Earl Hebner and call him stupid that he did not tap out he was simply pulling the hair out of his face. The crowd responds with You Tapped Out. Edge then left the ring he then grabbed the sign the one fan had ripping it into several pieces.

Its time to play the game.. HHH vs Orton for the Heavyweight championship. HHH and Flair come out to mixed response. Then comes Orton to another deafening POP. This match went back and forth until HHH hit the ref knocking him out. Flair jumped in at this point. He ended up getting an RKO for his trouble. Meanwhile HHH was going for the chair. He missed Orton with it. Orton then connects with the chair on HHH. He covers The Game and another ref comes down and counts 1-2-3..

ORTON IS THE NEW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION.

But the refs then argue and the match ref decalres the match is still going.. HHH hits Orton with a low Blow behind the refs back. HHH then sets Orton up for a Pedigree it connects. HHH covers 1-2-3. HHH is still the Heavyweight Champion.

All and all it was a good show.
