CWF MID-ATLANTIC STAR REPRESENTS AWA IN JAPAN
Commissioner William L. Cross recently announced that CWF Mid- Atlantic was now sanctioned by the American Wrestling Association (AWA). The AWA has a long history dating back to 1959 and has a tradition of great wrestling action. Cross also announced that the AWA World Title would once again be defended in the Mid-Atlantic region just as past champion Nick Bockwinkle did many years ago. Currently there is an AWA World Title Contenders Tournament taking place in the AWA sanctioned Zero One Max promotion.
Russell Simpson spent his week before Christmas in Japan representing the AWA competing in Zero One Max and their sister promotion, Hustle. Commissioner William L. Cross stated, "Despite his rulebreaking style, I have to congratulate Russell Simpson on his recent performance in Japan. We hope that Russell is just the first of many CWF Mid-Atlantic wrestlers to represent the AWA in Japan." Negotiations are currently underway that could send more stars from the CWF Mid-Atlantic to Japan in the near future.
Simpson also appeared on CWF Mid-Atlantic TV Christmas Night in a "Mixed Six" tag team bout teaming with Venus & Krissy Vaine. The rulebreaking trio came out victorious over Chris Collins, Amber O'Neal & GeeStar in a very exciting bout.
