Hello, Merry Holidays, and welcome to the FINAL VELOCITY REPORT of 2004! It's been a wild ride this year, and hopefully it will continue into 2005. Tonight's report is going to be incredibly short, so let's get to it!
Tonight on Velocity, the WWE aired a recap of the "Christmas in Iraq" special, which was broadcast last Thursday night. I felt that while last years event was better(as far as wrestling), this years event still held the same amount of emotion and gratitude that many of us have for the troops. While many people in this country are against the war, I believe that a majority of people wish the troops in Iraq, and all over the world, and their families, all of the best. The WWE once again did an awesome job of reminding the soldiers that there are still people who care about them, and as long as there is a situation where our troops are needed, we will all be behind them!
Well, Since tonight's Velocity was basically a recap show, I decided to fill in the rest of the report with a.......
VELOCITY YEAR END SPECIAL!
A few weeks ago, I posted a list of matches that I felt were awesome, and asked for you, the readers, to email me your vote for which one was the best. Well, voting is over, and I have the results! Now, I only suggested the following matches, and stated that if you wanted to vote for any other match, to go ahead. Beside each match, is the number of votes that I recieved via email:

And fianally, with a number of 2 votes, your VELOCITY MATCH OF THE YEAR is.....
Well, instead of just simply typing the match, I decided to just repost the match. So, the following is from the May 1, 2004 edition of the Velocity Report:

We are back, and a Cruiserweight showdown is about to begin!
Jaime Noble Vs. Rey Mysterio
The match starts with a lockup and some awesome chain wrestling from both men. Both men use submissions, takedowns, you name it. Rey has a wristlock on Noble, but Noble flips out of it, and hits a northern lights suplex. Noble locks in the wristlock on Rey, and goes for a few covers by holding Rey's arms down, but Rey kicks out. Rey flips onto Noble, and hits an AMAZING sunset flip for nearfall. Both men back off to opposite corners, and the fans(and myself) love this action! Noble goes for another wristlock, but Rey flips out of i. Noble chops Rey a few times, whips him into the ropes, but Rey ducks under Noble and goes for a nearfall. Noble goes for a back suplex, but Rey lands on his feet, goes for a suplex, but Noble attempts a rollup. Rey goes to the rops, and hits a springboard moonsault for a nearfall. QUICK ACTION! Rey hits a headlock takedown, but Noble gets up, goes for a back suplex, but Rey hits another headlock takedown. Noble gets up, sends him to the ropes, ducks under, and hits a forearm smash. Noble goes for the cover, but gets 2. Noble tries to hold Rey's arms down, but Rey keeps kicking out. Rey flips to his feet, but Noble uses an INNOVATIVE wrestling technique that hurts Rey's arm. Noble sends Rey arm first into the corner, hard. The great action will be back!
Commercial Break
We are back, and Noble continues to attack Rey's injured arm. Noble drops a leg on Rey's arm, and locks it in an armbar, while stomping on it with his knees. The crowd chants for Rey, and Rey slowly gets to his feet. Rey kicks Noble's knee, throws some haymakers, and hits a body scissors rollup for a 2 count. Noble clotheslines Rey to get back on the offense. Noble kicks Rey in the back, and locks his arm around the top rope. Noble dropkicks the trapped arm, goes for the cover, but gets 2. Noble continues to attack Rey's injured arm, and locks in another armbar variation. Rey gets to his feet, gets whipped into the ropes, headscissors himself around Noble, and locks in an IMPRESSIVE armbar. Noble pushes Rey into the middle turnbuckle, goes for a standing back wristlock, but Rey attacks. Rey jumps and hits a snapmare, sending Noble shoulder first into the ring post. Both men up, and and Rey STIFF kicks Noble's chest a bunch of times, jumps of the second rope, lands on Noble's shoulders, twists around and hits a hurricarana. Rey hits a spinning heel kick, goes for the cover, but gets 2. Rey is sent to the corner, but kicks Noble in the face. Noble picks Rey up, but Rey hits a dropkick. With Noble sitting in the corner, Rey runs and hits a SWEET dropkick to Noble's face. Rey goes to the top rope, hits a split legged moonsault, but gets a 2 count. Rey is whipped to the ropes, but hits a springboard crossbody. Noble rolls through the crossbody, and locks Rey in an armbar. Rey breaks the hold by getting his foot on the ropes. Rey gets on the apron, flips over Noble, but Noble counters into a northern lights suplex for a 2 count. The crowd Rey hits a hurricarana, sending Noble to the ropes. Rey hits the 619, leaps off the ropes, and hits a legdrop on the back of Noble's head(Dropping the Dime) for the 1, 2, 3! GREAT MATCH! Probably the best Velocity match ever! Words can't do it justice.
Winner Via Pinfall: Rey Mysterio
Demott's Turning Point: When Rey hit the headscissors into the armbar, allowing a shift in momentum, and eventual victory.

That indeed was an incredible match! It's a shame that Noble was released. But don't worry, as he will be appearing for Ring of Honor in February!
I was trying to prepare a "Fantasy Wrestlemania 21 card" for this report, but I'm still trying to piece it together. So, instead of a full card, how about....
"MATCHES THAT I WOULD LIKE TO SEE HAPPEN AT WRESTLEMANIA 21!"
- Street Fight (Mick Foley as Special Referee)
Randy Orton Vs. HHH
I don't know why, but I see this happening more as a street fight than a World title match. This would be good as a fued ender, especially with Foley as ref, as he was involved in No dq street fights with both men.
- Kurt Angle Vs. Shawn Micheals OR Ric Flair
I think either man would do really well with Angle.
- The Rock Vs. Christian
Of course, with Wrestlmania coming to L.A., Rock will no doubt be there. But this time around, who should he fight? Who would benefit from a match with the Great One? Why not Christian? The man is so close to main eventing. I think this would be very entertaining.
- The Undertaker and or Rey Mysterio Vs. Rob Van Dam
I would love to see both matches happen. Here's how it could work; RVD loses to Rey in a dream match earlier in the night, and makes everyone think he was cool with it. Later, Paul Heyman reveals to Undertaker that his opponent will be MR.PPV, RVD! This would help turn Rob into his old cocky heel, and maybe push him back into the main event. Rob, after usinga Van daminator, Van terminator, and a frog splash, is able to defeat Undertaker. Heyman celebrates, but gets Tombstoned, placed into a bodybag, and carried away by the deadman.
- Big Show Vs. John Cena Vs. Brock Lesnar
If Lesnar returns, I would love for him to face Big Show. And with Cena involved, we could very well see a Battle of the Bulls style triple threat!
These are just matches that I would love to see happen. Hopefully, WWE will put on another awesome 'Mania this coming year.
Well, that's it for Velocity. If you have any questions, answers, hatemail, lovemail, pics of Santa Claus conquering the Martians, or just wanna shoot the s##t, feel free to send any and all feedback to Jaba4017@aol.com . Thank you for reading, and I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas(I know I did. For the first time in my memory, it actually SNOWED here in Louisiana! I feel like it was a miracle of sorts, as I had been under the weather lately. I don't know, but Christmas magic RULES!), and will have a happy new year! And, of course, come back next week, as we celebrate the start of 2005 with........THE VELOCITY REPORT!!!!
