LOP Interview with former WWE Diva/Wrestler Gail Kim

November 3rd is a day that many wrestling fans collectively said WTF when we all read this news blurb from WWE.com

    Courtesy of WWE.com ....

The WWE released Gail Kim, Chuck Palumbo and Nidia from their contracts today. We wish them the best in their future endeavors.

The WWE effectively cut the women’s division in half with the release of Jazz and then as the we read above Nidia and Gail Kim. Needless to say I was pretty ticked. I mean Gail was one of the if not most talented women’s wrestlers the WWE has had in a while. She had a completely different style then everyone else and she was pretty over with the fans so when I read that she got cut along with Nidia (Who also has a fairly big following) I was like what are they doing.

Well I went to Gail’s official website and I saw the contact link and I decided what the heck and sent an e-mail figuring maybe it would go to her webmaster but to my surprise she got back to me about a day later and she asked if I could get back to her in a week or so and I did as she asked and I e-mailed her again and a few days later I got a reply back (Along with everyone else who wanted an interview) to send the questions and she’d get back to them as fast as she could.

I sent these late Friday night and I got them a few hours ago. That’s pretty damn fast.

So here is my Interview with Gail Kim.

**Note from Phantom: If you use any of the text in this you better damn well credit Me and Lordsofpain.net**

Phantom: I think the biggest question most if not all fans have right now is what is wrong with the WWE right now.

Gail: I can't give you necessarily the "correct" answer, but in my opinion, it's not really what's wrong. Wrestling has always gone through it's ups and downs and right now it's at a low point. it could be several things, but when fans talk to me, they do mention things like lack of continuing storylines. remember when wrestling had continuing feuds for weeks or even months? people need to care about the wrestlers and the stories between them. i personally think that they should have four payper views a year and that way stories can be built and people would want to tune in to see what happens. in terms of the womens division, they are obviously trying to go in another direction, which in my opinion is not what the fans really want. we worked so hard to raise the bar and have a strong women's division; hopefully the fans will show that that's what they want to see.

Phantom: We’re you surprised by the amount of support you’ve gotten from fans on the Internet when news of your release was made public.

Gail: I couldn't believe the amount of people who responded to the release. I was so flattered and touched by the support that everyone has shown me. they have definitely shown that they respect what i did and what i do and hopefully they will continue to support me wherever my path leads me to next.... which you will be able to find out from my website as i update it. so to everyone who has emailed me and supported me, thanks again... it has definitely made me want to continue wrestling.

Phantom: One thing we’re obviously wondering about is what are your plans for the future. Do you have any plans to possibly go to Japan or in the case of LOP Board Member Valleyboy somewhere near Nova Scotia?

Gail: I do have plans right now that are in progress, but like I said before, I will update my website when I have definite plans.

Phantom: Based on what we saw of you in the last few months on RAW can we expect you to continue to use a submission based style of wrestling.

Gail: Definitely. I know the fans love to see high flying maneuvers... but changing my style to submissions have gotten such a great response as well. I love the lucha libre style, but i also love the technical side.

Phantom: Do you think that the image of being a sexy diva over shadows the talent some women have in the ring or can it be used to their advantage.

Gail: It definitely helps to get the fans' attention.... I just hate when people chant "puppies" during a match. I know t & a is part of wrestling.... but I would hope that someone could be sexy, but be appreciated for their talent as well.

Phantom: Aside from winning the Women’s Title in your first televised match on RAW, What was your favorite In-Ring Moment in the WWE.

Gail: I guess the one that I can think of off the top of my head is my match with Nidia on Sunday night heat not that long ago. It was my favorite match by far... very competitive and the crowd was hot. My toughest match, but also the one I’m most proud of.

Phantom: Now that you’re back on the Indy scene are they any particular opponents you’re looking to facing in the ring.

Gail: Not anyone in particular.... I never got to work with jazz in the WWE... now's our chance. And of course, Nidia. I would love to work with anyone that I can learn more from.

Phantom: What kind of advice can you give a young woman who might be considering getting into the Wrestling Business?

Gail: If you have a passion for it... don't give up. It’s not glorious, so don't get into it if you're not willing to work hard. All I can say is that when I decided to do this, I always believed I could make it and never looked back.

Phantom: It’s widely agreed on the Internet that you have one of the best body’s of all the diva’s. What kind of training and work out regimen do you do to keep your self in shape.

Gail: Thanks, I’m flattered.. I do train hard and eat clean, it's a lifestyle for me. I work out six days a week (not everyone needs to work out that much), but I love it. I mostly weight train... I hate cardio, but you definitely have to do it.... and of course wrestling helps keep me in shape.

Phantom: Lets Play a little Word Association. Write what ever you want about the name I put down.

    Gail:
    Trish Stratus: ambitious
    Molly Holly: giving
    Lita: real
    Victoria: crazy
    Stacy Keibler: happy/fun
    Fit Finlay: amazing

Phantom: Finally where do you see the wrestling industry as a whole in five years time and where do you think you will be in it.

Gail: I think the wrestling business will pick up and I hope to still be wrestling then.... I mean, I WILL be wrestling then.

Phantom: I’d like to thank Gail for taking sometime to answer these questions from me and for more information on Gail including pics, bio, and how to contact her please visit Her Official Website Lafelina.com
