We’re just two weeks away from the biggest wrestling convention to hit the East Coast.
On November 13, 2004, the Holiday Inn in Carteret, NJ (just minutes off the NJ Turnpike, Exit #12) will play host to some of the greatest legends the professional wrestling game has to offer, as well as vendors from around the country. This will be a great place to reunite with some of the stars that captivated audiences throughout the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s, share memories with other fans and collect autographs, merchandise and other memorabilia. The convention will culminate with a Q&A featuring several of the legends (hosted by WBAI-FM DJ Evan Ginzburg).
Superstar guests include:
Mr. Fuji
Without question, one of wrestling’s all-time great villains, Mr. Fuji held the WWWF tag team title three times with Prof. Toru Tanaka and two times with Mr. Saito. He was also the US Champion out of San Francisco and held many other regional belts. In 1972 he main-evented Madison Square Garden as he challenged Pedro Morales for the title. As a manager he worked with such greats as Magnificent Muraco, George Steele, The Moondogs, etc. and he reunites at Wrestling Reunion II with his team of the Warlord & The Barbarian A.K.A. The Powers of Pain.
Hillbilly Cousin Luke
He’s competed throughout the US, Japan, Australia and Canada under a variety of names (Gene Lewis, The Mongol, Kharma, etc.) since his debut in 1973, but he’s best known as the beloved Hillbilly Cousin Luke. And at Wrestling Reunion II, you can see him reunite with Hillbilly Jim and relive your childhood memories. (Please note that Luke’s autograph is not part of the super ticket.)
The Barbarian
A member of several top tag teams including The Powers of Pain (with The Warlord), The Headshrinkers (with Fatu) and The Faces of Fear (with Meng), this 6’2 295 powerhouse was born in Tonga and is a universally respected star who continues to actively wrestle today. The Barbarian and Meng were also part of the classic Dungeon of Doom in WCW. See him rejoin his tag partners The Warlord and Meng at Wrestling Reunion II.
Barry Windham
This 6’6 275 pound Texan is the son of legendary Blackjack Mulligan. Considered by many to be one of the best workers of his generation, he had classic feuds with Ric Flair, Sting and was also a WWF Tag Team Champion with Mike Rotundo who he reunites with at Wrestling Reunion II. He’s held many titles including the NWA World Television title which he won by defeating Steve Austin in 1992 and the NWA World Heavyweight Title which he won from The Great Muta in 1993.
Mike Rotundo
An amateur wrestling star for Syracuse University, he became a top pro attraction in both the US and Japan. Career highlights include his stint in the WWF as part of the US Express with Barry Windham, a highly successful run as Irwin R. Schyster (IRS), and an alliance with Ted Dibiase (Money Inc.). Rotundo was also a member of both WCW’S Varsity Club and the original NWO as Michael Wallstreet. He retired from wrestling in 2004 but is looking forward to returning to meet the fans at Wrestling Reunion II.
Hillbilly Jim
At 6’7 320 pounds this beloved figure was part of a beloved Hillbilly Family including Uncle Elmer, Cousin Luke & Cousin Junior. Feuding with the likes of Don Muraco, Roddy Piper, King Kong Bundy and many other legends, he also participated in the famous Wrestlemania 2 Battle Royal won by Andre The Giant. In a notable storyline, Hillbilly Jim’s wrestling boots were given to him by none other than Hulk Hogan. He makes a rare autograph appearance at Wrestling Reunion II.
Jacque Rougeau (The Mountie)
From the legendary Canadian Rougeau wrestling family, Jacque was both 3-time WWF tag champ as The Quebecers (with Carl Ouelette) and the WWF Intercontinental champion as The Mountie. The holder of many regional belts, a career highlight was his scoring a clean pin victory over Hulk Hogan in Montreal in 1997. Jacque was also one half of the Fabulous Rougeau Brothers with Raymond Rougeau and later in his career part of WCW’s Team Canada.
Terry Taylor
This former PWI Rookie of the Year (1980) went on to win innumerable major titles including the NWA World Jr. Heavyweight, NWA National Heavyweight, Mid-South North American Heavyweight and Texas Heavyweight championships. Moving on to management, he helped booked WCW and was writer, producer, scout, commentator and involved in development for the WWF as well. With a high school and college wrestling background, he was a highly respected technical grappler as well as an equally effective heel. Terry Taylor makes a rare autograph appearance at Wrestling Reunion II.
Baron Von Raschke:
One of wrestling’s greatest villains, he held titles galore including the WWA World Heavyweight belt which he won from legendary Dick the Bruiser, the Mid-Atlantic TV title (defeating Ricky Steamboat), the NWA World Tag Team titles with both Greg Valentine and Paul Jones (where they defeated Ric Flair and Blackjack Mulligan), the Georgia Heavyweight belt and the AWA Tag Team Titles with The Crusher. A two time All-American amateur wrestler, he won the bronze medal at the 1963 World games and qualified for the 1964 Olympic team. Von Raschke main-evented all the major territories and even appeared in Chicago’s huge Comiskey Park in 1970.
The Warlord
At 6’5, 323 pounds, this massive warrior has wrestled since 1986 and was one half of the Powers of Pain with the Barbarian. Appearing on all the top PPV’s of the era and in a main-event arena run vs. Hulk Hogan, he is a former NWA Central States Tag Team Champion and a WAR World 6 Man Tag Team Champion (with Bob Backlund and Scott Putski).
Baby Doll
The daughter of Texas promoter Nick Roberts and successful lady wrestler Lorraine Johnson, Nickla “Baby Doll” Roberts grew up around the wrestling business and became one of the greatest valets in pro wrestling history with both Tully Blanchard and— after a classic angle— with Dusty Rhodes. “The Perfect 10,” Baby Doll lends sex appeal to Wrestle Reunion II.
Haku/Meng
Trained by Giant Baba, he’s wrestled under many names including Prince Tonga, King Tonga, Haku, King Haku and Meng (WCW). Regardless of his moniker, he is one of the fiercest competitors ever, with notable feuds against Demolition, The British Bulldogs, Goldberg, the Undertaker and Kane. He is a former WWF Tag Team Champion as one half of the Colossal Connection with Andre the Giant (having defeated Demolition) and was one half of the Islanders with Tama, managed by Bobby Heenan. In a notable angle he became King of the WWF and was known as “King Haku.” He was also part of Kevin Sullivan’s Dungeon of Doom in WCW and was the last WCW Hardcore title holder, defeating Terry Funk. Haku makes a rare autograph appearance at Wrestling Reunion II.
Admission is only $10 at the door or $20 including a ticket for the all-star one hour Q&A session.
Bargain golden tickets are only $99 prior to November 1 ($125 afterwards). This includes admission to the convention, 1 autograph of each wrestler, a Polaroid of each wrestler, a free show poster and admission to the star-studded Q&A.
