- Vince McMahon is not backstage at at SmackDown! tonight, so the backstage environment is much like that of Monday's RAW. The production meetings were delayed for about two hours as Vince called in changes to the show.
- Writer David Lagana was also on vacation this week, meaning that Paul Heyman had a huge influence on tonight's show.
- While Brian Gewirtz, HHH and Stephanie are backstage at the show and helping with the show. Many find it interesting that Shane McMahon is not present, a likely sign of where the company is headed once Vince calls it quits.
