Major Taboo Tuesday *spoilers* & news; Update on injury

[The below post features various news items and spoilers that might ruin the shock value of tonight's PPV for some viewers. Proceed with caution.]

HBK's status for tonight is still largely up in the air. PWInsider.com reports that HBK's injury was an aggravation of a nagging knee problem from which the veteran has been suffering these past few weeks but that he would still work tonight's PPV. At this point, whether he does go ahead and work or not, WWE is hoping he does not take the vote so that his injury can be "hidden" in the tag match.

WWE's internal "choice" for the main-event these past few weeks was HBK vs. HHH. In fact, there was actually some talk about giving HBK the title in a "shock" title change. However, sources now report WWE's desire for a Benoit win in the voting, although they will certainly not "fix" voting to get such an outcome. With HBK not at one hundred percent and not even definite for the show, the title change might have been nixed, although some still feel it is a great, unexpected move that will make the "fans control the outcome" seem more legitimate. Regardless of what happens tonight, the plan is for HHH to wrestle Randy Orton in a title match at WrestleMania 21, so he will have the title around his waist by then, even if he loses tonight.

Of course, with the *SPOILER* that La Resistance was at the Heat taping without the tag belts, WWE obviously originally planned to have a tag title switch. HBK's injury could have changed those plans as well, although if WWE still goes with the tag title switch, they could keep a decent image of offering a 'meaningful' PPV without having the world title change.
