Backstage Taboo Tuesday update; Inside details on voting, more
Submitted by Ben Johnson on Tuesday, October 19, 2004 at 1:15 AM EST
According to WrestlingObserver.com, the plan was to actually follow legitimate voting results for tonight's Taboo Tuesday PPV. Contrary to internet speculation, WWE wants to treat fan voting very seriously, since it has been promoted as such a huge selling-point.
On that same note, however, is the fact that WWE, over the past few weeks of RAW, definitely did attempt to sway voters into making certain decisions. Thus, in many cases, they can get a desired outcome without the need for fraud.
Another issue worth noting is the fact that WWE.com's poll only uses "cookie protection" and not "IP protection." Thus, voters can delete cookies and continually input their choices for the show, unfairly shifting results in a desired direction.
