This past weekend, World Wrestling Entertainment debuted a duo of Muslim characters to Internet controversy. With the status of the US' situation in the Middle East, some question if it's the right time for WWE to attempt to portray such characters.
The duo features a heavyweight wrestler and a cruiserweight wrestler dubbing as a manager. Mark Magnus plays Muhammed Hussan, the wrestler, while Shawn Daivari acts as his manager. Daivari was recently signed to a WWE developmental deal; Magnus has been in OVW for quite some time.
