More surprise WWE returns, News for RAW tonight, The Rock

• The Rock reportedly signed a new WWE contract this month, although details are sketchy at this point. It is in Rock's best interest to maintain ties with WWE, because its audience is a great forum in which to promote his movies.
  
  - WWE continues to defend those who claim WWE should advertise Rock's returns in advance. Not only do they feel it sets the bar too high (above a Diva search involvement, for instance), but takes away the "shock value." WWE wants to consistently have surprise returns and angles on its programming, and if fans are accustomed to advertising for every major angle, they will know when not to tune into RAW. The idea is to make every show "must-see TV."
  
  
• Both Edge and Tajiri have injuries going into RAW tonight, although the severity is not known. If Edge is deemed unable to wrestle following his house show bump, he will likely be replaced by either Christian or Shelton Benjamin in the feud with Chris Jericho.
  
  
• Various California indy wrestlers are expected to be part of tonight's RAW telecast.
