Plans for Randy Orton's face character, More scheming by HHH? Submitted by Ben Johnson on Friday, August 20, 2004 at 10:17 PM EST
The latest word is that many within WWE are pushing for WWE's writing team to prevent making any drastic changes to Randy Orton's character. Using the argument that "good-guy" babyfaces don't get over as well anymore, officials are pointing to The Rock, Steve Austin and Eddie Guerrero as heels who got over as faces by generally maintaining their personas, without becoming total "nice guys." Obviously, Orton won't be making fun of all the twenty-four-year-old failures in the world, but the plan is for Orton not to become a total good-guy.
Some rumblings are going around that Orton's face turn might have been a scheme by HHH to kill his momentum. Since so many backstage sources are anti-HHH, take that rumor with a grain of salt.
