  • Thanks to Billy Rood and PWInsider.com for the following report:

  • Dark Match:

Hardcore Holly defeated Carly Colon with an Alabama Slam. I remember watching Abdullah The Butcher fork Colon's dad in the head on the old WWC shows.

  • Velocity:

WWE Champion John Bradshaw Layfield defeated Shannon Moore with a powerbomb. Yes, the original Summerslam main event (insert joke here) took place on Velocity.

Mark Jindrak defeated Scotty 2 Hotty by using the ropes for leverage on the pin.

Chavo Guerrero defeated Funaki with the Gori Bomb.

The FBI defeated The Bashams when Doug rolled up Stamboli, but Nunzio kicked him, allowing Stamboli to reverse it for the pin.

  • Smackdown:

Booker T opened the show, saying he wants the new General Manager to award him the U.S. Title, like Kurt Angle promised. Kenzo Suzuki, Rob Van Dam, Rene Dupree, Luther Reigns, Billy Gunn, Charlie Haas and John Cena came out, all apparently wanting the title. A brawl broke out, but Vince McMahon came out, ending the melee. He named the new General Manager ... Theodore R. Long. Long says that Booker has been "hating" on Smackdown too much to be given the title, so instead an eight-man elimination match will decide who the new U.S. Champion is.

Spike Dudley defeated Rey Mysterio to win the WWE Cruiserweight Title. D-Von Dudley ran out and distracted the referee, allowing Bubba to trip Rey as he was going for a 619. An unknowing Spike hit Rey with the Acid Drop for the win, but then got mad when he realized his half-brothers had interfered.

Theodore R. Long confronted Kurt Angle in the back, and told Angle he had to wrestle tonight. Angle said he didn't have his gear, so Long fined him for not being prepared to work, and told him he had to wrestle next week.

Billy Kidman & Paul London defeated The Dudleys to retain the Tag Title. Rey Mysterio ran out to help Kidman & London, and D-Von was pinned by London.

The showed Ivory interviewing Mick Foley at the Democratic Convention.

Eddie Guerrero came out to the ring, and revealed that he had stolen all the stuff from Kurt Angle's office after he was fired as General Manager. Eddie starts making jokes about the stuff, and as he is about to auction off Angle's gold medals, Kurt finally comes to the ring. Kurt says that since Eddie stole his stuff, he is going to steal the low rider. Angle gets in, but powder shoots out of the dashboard, all over Angle. A ticked off Kurt walks off, as Eddie has another laugh at his expense.

The JBL political-style commercials are back.

The Elimination match for the U.S. Title was the main event. Here are the Eliminations:

    - Billy Gunn defeated Charlie Haas.
    - Luther Reigns defeated Rene Dupree.
    - Kenzo Suzuki was disqualified for hitting John Cena with the belt.
    - John Cena defeated Billy Gunn.
    - John Cena defeated Luther Reigns.
This left Cena, RVD and Booker. Van Dam hit Cena with the five star frog splash, and Booker covered Cena for the pin, then quickly gave RVD a ax kick and pinned him, winning the match. So Booker T, after all that, still ended up with the U.S. Title.

Shockingly, no Undertaker at all. Guess being the main event of Summerslam for the Smackdown brand isn't that important, so why have him around to hype it?
