Triple X (Christopher Daniels & Elix Skipper) vs. Team Mexico (Mr. Aguila & Abismo Negro)

Tonight’s show got started with a tag team match to determine the number one contenders for the NWA World Tag Team Titles. Former NWA Tag Team Champions, Triple X came in to this match up determined to reclaim what was once theirs, but first they would have to go through Mr. Aguila and Abismo Negro from Team Mexico. With aspirations of tag team gold themselves, Team Mexico came to fight.

The match went back and forth in true X Division fashion. Both teams have great experience working with one another and pulled off some amazing moves. In the end, The Fallen Angel, Christopher Daniels, was able to get the Angel’s Wings on Negro to get the pin fall and earn their shot at the tag belts. In a great show of sportsmanship, both teams shook hands at the end of the bout.

Winners: Triple X (Christopher Daniels & Elix Skipper)

Cameras then shifted to the back where Scott Hudson was standing by with the Alpha Male, Monty Brown. Brown went on talking about how he was undefeated in TNA and that Jeff Jarrett’s opponents were not on the same level he was. He went on to degrade Styles, Killings, Raven, and Harris, saying they were easy outs for the champ. The Truth, Ron Killings, then interrupted Brown and told him that he was delusional and that he was not fit to be a professional wrestler or the NWA World Heavyweight Champion. Monty responded by telling the Truth to bring his friends along and he will bring the fight to them. James and Konnan then came in and security quickly got on the scene to keep 3LK and the Alpha Male apart.

“Irish” Pat Kenney vs. Big Vito w/ Trinity

Pat Kenney was looking to get a little revenge going into this match for what the NYC, mostly Vito, did to him last week on TNA’s pay per view. He got his opportunity tonight in a Sicilian Street Fight against Big Vito. In the ring, there was a trash can full of weapons which both men could use to demolish their opponent. It was all Vito early on as he was relentless in his assault of Kenney.

Kenney soon mounted a comeback with the help of an Irish whip, but Trinity became involved. Pat Kenney then turned his attention to the hottest member of the NYC, which gave Vito the opportunity he needed to put away the Irish competitor. With Kenney focused on Trinity, Vito quickly attacked him from behind and got a double arm DDT for the victory. The win was not quite enough for Vito and Trinity and they began to double team the helpless Kenney until security ran in to break up the action. Vito thought twice about going against Heavy D.

    Winner: Big Vito w/ Trinity

Scott Hudson was standing by with David Young and Johnny Swinger. Young was on his cell phone with Glenn Gilberti who was said to be in Hawaii, stuck in customs. Swinger, still dressed in the ridiculous grass skirt and coconut braw, got a call on his cell phone. Hudson told Young that he and Gilberti are 1 and 2 on TNA’s gut check list and that Young is now 0-86. Young responded by telling Hudson that if he couldn’t beat a referee, he won’t come back.

Shark Boy, D-Ray 3000, & referee Mike Posey vs. The NYC & David Young

As this match got underway, there still was no sign of Glenn Gilberti which put Swinger and Young at a disadvantage from the very start. David Young was dead set on getting his hands on Mike Posey, but wasn’t able to early on in the match. Once Posey was tagged in, his inexperience showed as both Swinger and Young went to work on him.

Towards the end of the match, David Young hit his famous spinebuster on D-Ray and it seemed as if he was going to end his incredible losing streak. However, Young wasted too much time and did not pin D-Ray. Referee Mike Posey came flying off the top rope with a drop kick, nailing David Young. Posey then jumped on top of D-Ray 3000 who was covering Young and the 3 of them got the victory. David Young was livid with the outcome that sent him to 0-87. He grabbed the microphone and asked Vince Russo for another chance. He told Russo that he wanted Posey 1 on 1 next week and if he loses, he will leave TNA.

Winners: D-Ray 3000, Shark Boy, & referee Mike Posey

Attention again shifted to the back where Scott Hudson was standing by with a sharply dressed Goldylocks and Baby Bear Alex Shelley. Goldylocks told Hudson that the last several weeks, she’s had the time of her life, but she wants more contracts and is willing to put up her money to get them. Just then, D-Ray came walking by and asked Goldylocks if she was talking about some money. She was happy that D-Ray accepted her challenge and walked off. Hudson asked him if he knew what he did, but D-Ray responded by telling him to Fear the Fro!

    Sabu vs. Abyss

After Abyss almost annihilated Sabu last week on PPV, it was time for these two maniacs to meet again, this time in a no disqualification match. The Suicidal, Homicidal, Genocidal Sabu was determined to get a little revenge on the monster, Abyss for what he did to him last week. The fight went all over the Asylum with Sabu using his favorite weapon, the steel chair, early on in the encounter. Sabu threw Abyss off the stage and through a table during the match, but was unable to finish the big man off.

The fight finally made its way back to the 6 sided ring where chairs were all over the place. Obviously, Sabu used the chairs to try and bring down the giant, but Abyss was able to counter. Abyss then hit his Shock Treatment on Sabu, but he was able to amazingly kick out. Abyss then went for his chain which Sabu grabbed away and used to drop the big man to the ground. Again, the action spilled out into the crowd and to the back of the Asylum.

Sabu set up a table and rolled Abyss on top of it. He then went to the balcony and jumped off using a leg drop which sent Abyss crashing through the table and onto the concrete floor. This wasn’t enough for Sabu, and the hardcore legend, got out another table and headed back up to the balcony to try the move again. Then the lights went out and nobody knew what was going on. When the lights came back on, Raven appeared on the balcony choking Sabu with a rope. He then threw Sabu off the balcony and on to the table waiting below. To make things even worse, Raven jumped off the balcony onto Sabu. Raven then pulled Abyss over his former partner for the pin and victory.

    Winner: Abyss

Scott Hudson was then standing by with Michael Shane, Kazarian, and Traci. Shane took the mic first and asked who gets the X Division title shot first and when. Kazarian then added by telling Shane that if he gets the shot at the X Title first, he wished him luck.

Chris Sabin (sub for AJ Styles) & Jerry Lynn vs. Michael Shane & Kazarian w/ Traci

Unfortunately for fans watching the show, AJ Styles was unable to compete in this match due to the injury he suffered to his knee last week, but if Shane and Kazarian thought they were getting off easy they were mistaking. Chris Sabin stepped up to take the place of Styles and join his one time Team NWA partner, Jerry Lynn. The pioneer of the X Division, Jerry Lynn and Chris Sabin seemed to have picked up where they left off since competing in the World’s X Cup.

This match was truly a treat with all 4 members having been X Division Champions at one time in their career here in TNA. Traci got involved toward the end of the encounter and almost got a cradle pile driver courtesy of Lynn, but she escaped. AJ Styles then made his way down to ringside with crutch in hand. Distracted by the champ at ringside, Shane and Kazarian lost the match when Jerry Lynn rolled them up for the 1 2 3. An irate Michael Shane and Kazarian then took out there frustrations on Sabin and Lynn and began to beat down the duo relentlessly.

Winners: Chris Sabin (sub for A.J. Styles) & Jerry Lynn

Styles then got in the ring and used the crutch to hit Shane and Kazarian, running the two off. Before they left the ring area, Styles grabbed the microphone and told them that they would both receive their title match next week on PPV in a match that he has never competed in. Ultimate X!!!!

Scott Hudson caught up with the returning Raven to get a couple of words, which Raven was more than willing to do. He told Sabu that Friday at Impact, it’s time for fight or flight.

Mike Tenay was then standing in the ring and introduced The American Dream, Dusty Rhodes. The legendary former NWA World Heavyweight Champion seemed very excited. He then introduced the fans to Jeff Hardy who made his return to a TNA ring this week. The fans went crazy once Hardy made his way to the ring. Once he got their, Jeff took a pen and signed a contract with NWA TNA!

Finally, the question was answered! Dusty wasn’t done though, he told Hardy that he had another contract for him to sign and that was a contract to get a shot at the NWA World Heavyweight Title. Jeff Hardy was even more delighted to sign that piece of paper until he was interrupted by the Alpha Male, Monty Brown. Brown told Hardy that he had a problem with that. He was next in line for a title shot. Then the NWA Heavyweight Champion and King of the Mountain himself, Jeff Jarrett, came to the ring.

Jarrett told Brown that he wasn’t even in his league and then told Jeff Hardy not to start unpacking his bags just yet. Then he slapped Hardy right across the face. Hardy then went nuts and took it right to the champ. The two battled all over the ring, until Monty Brown got the Pounce on Hardy. Hardy eventually got back up to go after the Alpha Male, but what he didn’t know was that Jarrett was waiting right behind him. Once Hardy turned around, Jarrett nailed him with the guitar over the head.

Scott Hudson was then standing by with America’s Most Wanted. Chris Harris started off by saying that last time they made history in TNA’s first cage match and that they will make history again tonight by becoming 5 time tag team champions. Storm got on the mic and told Triple X not to worry and that they will get their shot when they win the titles tonight. Triple X then interrupted the duo and Daniels told them that history has a way of repeating itself. As it stands, XXX is 4-1 against AMW and Primetime added that it will soon be 5-1.

America’s Most Wanted vs. The Naturals for the NWA World Tag Team Championship in a 6 sided steel cage match.

6 Sides of Steel. For the first time in TNA history, the NWA World Tag Team Championship would be decided in a 6 sided ring with a steel cage on all 6 sides. This was the most anticipated match of the night and had all the fans at home and in attendance glued to the action taking place in the ring. Triple X, 3 Live Kru, and Team Canada also got a ringside view of the encounter to find out who the next tag champs would be.

AMW wasted no time again this week and didn’t even let Borash finish introducing the champs, as they went right after Douglas and Stevens. Not even halfway through this brutal match, all 4 athletes were covered in blood as they had been thrown into the unforgiving steel cage walls. Neither team seemed to have the energy they normally have with the loss of so much blood. Chase Stevens surprised us all when he climbed the cage to the top and did a moonsault off the top of the cage on to AMW. You had to see it to believe it.

AMW tried to counter that later with by attempting the Death Sentence from the top of the cage onto Douglas, but Stevens cut off Harris at the top and both competitors fell to the outside floor. The canvas floor of the ring was almost complete red towards the end of the match. Harris and Stevens both were climbing to get back in the ring. Chris Harris was pulled back to the floor by all 4 members of Team Canada. Upon seeing this, Triple X and 3LK came to ringside and a brawl ensued between all 8 men.

Chase Stevens made his way back to the ring by climbing over the cage, but this time he brought a steel chair with him. Andy Douglas threw powder in the face of James Storm and the Naturals hit the Natural Disaster, but somewhere, Storm had the energy to kick out. As Harris was climbing back up the ring to help his partner out, Scott D’Amore broke his hockey stick right over his back causing Harris to fall back to the concrete floor. Stevens then got a shot with the steel chair on Storm and got the pin to hold on to their NWA Tag Team Titles in what turned out to be an AMAZING match.

    Winners: The Naturals
