WWE News: Backstage update from last night's RAW; Flair, Divas, HHH

Many backstage found WWE's attempt to milk the negative publicity surrounding Flair's book to be classless. While it will likely help sell books, the feeling was that taking shots at wrestlers who contributed so well to WWE is not the right direction to goo, especially since promoting what was good about the book, combined with Flair's overness in the wrestling community, could have been effective as well.

There was some happiness amongst talent that the divas were not treated extremely well by the fans. While WWE is still hoping to get American Idol/America's Next Top Model-type buzz around their competition, most feel it takes away from the wrestling.

WWE is hyping the Benoit vs. HHH Ironman match with the hope of a huge rating on Monday, as expected. With the Viacom deal nearing its expiration, WWE needs to go all out to get some hand in negotiations.
