WWE RAW Presents: Escape The Rules
    Sunday, June 20, 2004
    Ft. Myers, Florida
    Germain Arena

The arena was about 50% full. But the crowd was very hot all night and into every match. Before the show, the sound guy was playing Kid Rock, U2, Creed and Staind. They then played a recording of the rules, like not throwing things etc. "Welcome To The Jungle" played and out came The Fink. They played the national anthem and then the first match...

Match 1: La Resistance vs. Rhyno & Tajiri - World Tag Team Titles

Rhyno came out first to a big pop, then Tajiri to a big pop, then La Resistance to big heat. Huge "USA" chants. Rhyno got the mic and said that he wanted to wish his friend a Happy Father's Day. Everyone clapped and Tajiri thanks Rhyno, then nodded thanking the crowd. Good opener. Tajiri was worked over most of the match, then made the hot tag to Rhyno. Rhyno was about to hit the Gore to Grenier, but Conway hit Rhyno from behind. La Resistance knocked Tajiri off the apron, then hit their double team finisher.

Winners and still World Tag Team Champions: La Resistance

Afterwards, Grenier got the mic, the crowd was booing loudly, and he just dropped the mic and they both left.

Next The Fink introduced Jerry "The King" Lawler. Lawler came out for a "special" interview and said that it was good to be in Ft. Myers, and that he not only lives in Memphis, but also has a home in Ft. Myers. The King introduces Eugene who comes out with William Regal to a big pop. Lawler asked Eugene who his favorite wrestler was, Eugene said "My friend, Triple H!" King asked Regal if he thought Eugene had a chance against Triple H on RAW. Regal said we'd have to wait and see. Regal said "Eugene did beat that swine, The Coach." Right on cue, out comes Garrison Cade who berates Lawler, Regal and Eugene. Cade then piefaces Eugene.

Match 2: Garrison Cade vs. Eugene

Cade dominated the match. Regal even got physical being brought into the ring, over the top rope and hitting a back body on Cade while the ref was talking to Lawler. Eugene's head into the turnbuckle. Eugene mounts a come back, hitting the Rock Bottom, then went for the People's Elbow. Has Eugene ran the ropes, Cade got up, went for a clothesline, Eugene ducks and hit a Stunner for the win.

    Winner: Eugene

Afterwards The King comes in and hits his fist off the second rope. As Cade got up, Lawler also hit a Stunner on Cade.

Match 3: Val Venis vs. Chuck Palumbo

Val came out to a moderate pop, then threw his towel into the crowd. Palumbo came out to small heat. Back and forth until the end. Val went for the Money Shot but missed, as Chucky moved. Palumbo then hits his Fallaway/Samoan Drop move for the win.

    Winner: Chuck Palumbo

The Fink then introduces Stacy Keibler. Stacy came out to a big pop. The begins to talk about the RAW Diva Search, but Trish's music hits to a mixed reaction. Trish and Tomko come out. Trish says that she's the only diva on RAW that matters, and Stacy needs to walk her bird legs out of Trish's ring. Stacy comes back with "Atleast I'm not a SLUT!" This prompts a big "Slut" chant.. Stacy goes to the back after being cornered by Tomko. Molly's music hit, she came out small heat. Then Victoria's dance music hit and she came out to a big pop. In my humble opinion, Victoria needs to drop the dance music and go back to "All The Things She Said."

Match 4: Trish Stratus vs. Victoria vs. Molly Holly - WWE Women's Title

Victoria was double teamed most of the match. Trish then turned on Molly. Molly ran at Victoria, Victoria moves and Molly hits the corner. Victoria rolls up Molly and eliminates her. Victoria went for a top rope moonsault but misses. Trish went for the Chick Kick, Victoria counters hit into a roll up, Trish kicks out. Molly, who went to the back, comes back out and distracts Victoria. Tomko gives Trish the Women's Title. Victoria rips off Molly's wig and Molly runs to the back. Victoria turns around and Trish hits her with the belt for the win.

Winner and still Women's Champion: Trish Stratus

Match 5: Chris Jericho vs. Batista

Batista came out first to a mixed reaction. He gets on the mic and says that Jericho cheated to eliminate him in the Six Man Elimination Tag last Monday.. He told Jericho to come out so he can kick his ass. Jericho's theme hits and he comes out to a big pop. Jericho gets on the mic and says that he's going to give Batista a Y2J beating that he will never, EEEEEEEEEEEEVER forget, agayne. It was back and forth for the most part. Batista started dominating until Jericho hits his running bulldog. Y2J went for the Walls of Jericho but Batista countered it, Jericho went for the Lionsault, but Batista got his knees up. Batista then went for his Sit-Down Power Bomb, Jericho countered into a roll up for the win.

    Winner: Chris Jericho

After the match, Batista attacks Jericho and gives him two huge Spinebusters..

The Fink then announces a 10 Minute Intermission.

Match 6: Randy Orton vs. Edge - WWE Intercontinental Title

Orton comes out first to a mixed reaction. A chick at ringside flashed him, but she had a bra on. Randy went to the floor and gave her a hug. Edge came out to a huge pop. The match very much so resembled the match they had on RAW a few weeks ago, minus Flair at ringside. Very good match though. Orton went for a drop-kick as Edge was whipped into the ropes, but Edge hung onto the ropes. Edge hit his Edge-O-Matic and it looked like he was trying to lock on his Edge-ucator, but Orton countered. Randy went for the RKO, Edge reversed into a neckbreaker, but Orton reversed the neckbreaker into a roll up and put his feet on the ropes for the win.

Winner and still Intercontinental Champion: Randy Orton

Match 7: Matt Hardy vs. Tyson Tomko

Matt comes out first to a big pop. Tomko came out to nothing. Crowd was solidly behind Hardy. Matt was favoring his left knee, holding it a couple of times. Tomko had Matt in a Fallaway Slam position, but Matt turned it into what looked to be a Tornado DDT, but rather it was the Twist of Fate. Awesome counter.

    Winner: Matt Hardy

Match 8: Chris Benoit vs. Ric Flair w/ Randy Orton - World Heavyweight Title

Flair with Orton came out first to a nice pop, then Benoit came out to a huge pop. Orton was talking to the aforementioned flasher. Flair got on the mic and said to Benoit "You're Chris Benoit, but I'M Ric Flair and WE'RE Evolution and this is what WE get." Then the chick flashed again, this time lifting her bra. That got a nice pop, but some of the parents with kids didn't look too happy. This match was by far the match of the night. Benoit and Flair put on a clinic with a lot of reversals. Flair worked Benoit's left leg most of the match. Flair went to the top rope, but Benoit press slammed him off. Benoit 2 German Suplexes, Orton got on the apron, Benoit knocked him down and hits the 3rd German Suplex. Orton tries to interfere again, but again was knocked down. Batista ran out and was also knocked down. Flair ran at Benoit, but Benoit locks on the Crossface and Flair taps out.

Winner and still World Heavyweight Champion: Chris Benoit
