Take up thy wrestling boots and walk - Whats he on about again, beware the next you be the booker!

Welcome once more to the column that keeps time more accurately than a rolex, Take up thy wrestling boots and walk. I’m the man who doesn’t own a watch and therefore doesn’t know if his spelling of rolex is correct, Pt2, and I’m back here on LOP once again.
OK, I’m posting this now. It might not be Saturday where you are, but it’s Saturday here, and that mean’s posting time to me, honey.
We’ve heard reports that Dean Malenko is the man who reported Grandmaster Sexay for his lateness and the man responsible for his sacking. Can I just say right now, that I’m sure Dean Malenko is a complete professional. I have followed his career for many years and never once heard a complaint about him playing the political game - he has always been a class in ring performer, and as far as I can see, has done what has been asked of him. I think we need to bear that in mind when we hear these new rumours about him not wanting to put over too cool for them being cartoonish and Rikiski’s future being in doubt. I’m sure Malenko is a pro, and Brian Lawler got canned because of the actions of Brian Lawler and nothing else.
Japan is about to conquer the USA, and it has nothing to do with Tora, Tora, Tora, before you think I mean militarily. NJPW are basing their new business venture, NJPW USA, in Santa Monica, and will feature WWE star and Japanese wrestling LEGEND Ultimo Dragon. If you get the chance, check out this new show. I‘m sure it’ won’t disappoint.
There’s been a lot of shit aimed at Bradshaw lately, and he has aimed a lot back at the net. While I don’t agree with his use of the Hitler salute - he can defend it as much as he wants, but I’ve wrestled heel and I know there are limits - I think it’s time to get off his back. He’s aiming shit, people are aiming shit at him, but it’s time to accept that the man made a mistake. I think although he really fucked up, some people need to move on over this.
I can’t be the only person really laughing my ass off at the thought of Hulk Hogan beating the shit into the back street boys. Those little sons of bitches, Hulk up and legdrop time. Brooke, listen to daddy on this one..... when it comes crashing down and it hurts inside, you gotta take a chance cos carter hurts inside.....
Congratulations to Yourayatollah for winning the COTM contest. LOP columns forum is one of the very best places for wrestling related reading material, and to win that contest, you need some talent - he’s won it twice. Says it all, really. Read his column, it’s certainly worth the time and effort, and better than the drunken piece of shit your reading now.
The WWE has, at the time of writing, released nothing in response to the allegation that the Eugene gimmick has been stolen. A comedian from Florida has accused the WWE of stealing the character of Eugene from both him and his comedic partner, and using a storyline from their shows as the Eugene storyline.
Since they say that they submitted the storyline to Spike TV and a month later it was on TV, I am dubious. Vince McMahon is no idiot. I’ve given props to him on more than one occasion. He’s a guy who knows his stuff, and he’s a guy who can come up with his own stuff. But thats not my point,
He’s a guy who has survived in this business for over twenty years, and been dominant for at least twenty. Part of that was down to the Minnesota Hogan character, true, but Vince is still there - he didn’t die out with his star. I don’t think Vince McMahon would do anything in such a short span of time as a month - He would have planned the Eugene character out before hand. I’m sure I heard about the gimmick more than a month before it’s debut. As I recall, there was an out-rage. As I know, we all admit we were wrong, and the gimmick is good entertainment
I smell a rat with this whole case. I‘ve said it on LOP forums (the place for discussion!), and I‘ll say it again - until proven otherwise, I said with Vince McMahon on this. And if I do, so does Take up thy wrestling boots and walk. So yeah. Ok, that‘s it for Eugene. for tonight, anyway.
This may be an after thought, but the WWE hall of fame is too small. Gentlemen by the name of Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Curt Hennig and Bret Hart should all be inducted into the hall of fame. They played such a huge part in ten years of the WWE, that they all deserve their place in the hall of fame. Who could deny anyone of their calibre?
Rene Dupree has apparently gotten himself an ego since joining the Smackdown brand. I hope not. Easily the best member of La resistance, and a sure fire star for the future, Dupree needs to learn to work with and learn from those around him. He is only my age, and if I thought I could stop learning from people I worked with now, then I certainly would be going.... even further away from nowhere. Fuck. Rene, keep your head on your shoulders man. You’ll be a great star, like John and Randy, and TUTWBAW is rooting for ya.
Then there is the news of Chavo Classic. What to make of this situation, I don’t know. I make no secret of the fact that I am a fan of the legends. I like to see them on TV, I think it adds prestige to some of the younger guys, and gives the fans some much needed nostalgia. But when you are as unmotivated as Chavo obviously was, I think it really is time for you to part with the company. For his part, you have to give him credit, he didn’t protest to keep a paycheck - he just left. I have a couple of concerns about this though:
1/ Don’t leave Chavo Jnr. out in the cold. He’s a fine star, and a fine heel. He can carry the cruiserweight division with Mysterio. All they need is people to keep them apart from time to time.
2/ Will they let one of the older wrestlers take Chavo’s place. It is the perfect opportunity for someone to get some air time. I think they should think long and hard, and let an older, charismatic wrestler, take over the case for Chavo.
Rob Van Dam appears to be staying with the WWE. As much as I do think he would be a better fit with the NWA:TNA, who can really say they are surprised to hear Rob is staying in New York?
And that seems a good point to leave for tonight. I’d like to announce that next week, “You be the Booker” returns, as we have a re-capper special. Reigning champion Tinaali, defends against fellow LOP re-cappers Billy Arcenaux and Sean Cramer in a special 3 way event! You don’t want to miss it!
I’d also like to suggest the following columns to people:
