  • There is a story making rounds that New Japan Pro Wrestling official Fumihiko Uei declared to the Japanese media that he met with WWE’s John Laurinatis over the weekend before the Judgment Day PPV in Los Angeles.

Uei said that there could be New Japan workers appearing on SmackDown brand house shows in July at Budokan Hall and claimed to have requested using a WWE performer at the G-1 Climax tournament in August. The two names that he mentioned were champions Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero.

Much like the Brock Lesnar/Kurt Angle rumors with NOAH that will not happen, there is a good chance that this will never happen. As most people know by now, Vince McMahon isn’t going to let two of his top talents step in the ring with a competing company and take the risk of getting injured.
