SmackDown taking a different approach, Konnan/WWE, Waltman & DDP returning? Submitted by Richard Gray on Wednesday, May 19, 2004 at 2:14 PM EST
If you are wondering why SmackDown has been more of a “1980s” style lately, it is the work of Bruce Prichard, who is a member for the brand’s writing team. Prichard loves to the school style and feels that it is something different to try for the brand. He came up with the Undertaker’s short Rest In Peace promo at Judgment Day as well as others.
As I reported the other day, Konnan was backstage at Judgment Day. Apparently he was there trying to land an announcing deal with the company. However, it is believed that he is under contract with NWA: TNA doing Spanish language broadcasting, therefore, he would have to get out of that before he could consider working in WWE.
Sean Waltman, who was also backstage at this past Sunday’s PPV was seen having conversation with non other than Triple H. Diamond Dallas Page was just visiting and even though he has announced that he wants to return to wrestling, there have been no plans about him returning to WWE.
