Before we get into “The Full Monty” I’d like to tell you about a local fed
here in Pittsburgh, PA. If you are going to be anywhere near here, or if you
are a local, be sure to check out their website iwcwrestling.com for details on this weekend’s show. If
you love TNA this is the best place to see some of their superstars live
without having to travel down south.

May 8th is their Super Indy Scramble 3 and the lineup so far is looking
great. We have the fan requested dream match of AJ Styles vs Christopher
    Daniels
and that’s just for starters. Also on the card is CM Punk vs.
Sonjay Dutt, Super Hentai vs. Alex Shelley, Glen Spectre vs. Chris Sabin

plus a hardcore match between New Jack and Balls Mahoney and many
more great matches. The best part of all of this is that these superstars
make themselves available during intermission and after the show to meet the
fans, sign autographs, and take pictures. It’s the ultimate fan experience.
Who knows, maybe I’ll get lucky and score an interview…

    The Full Monty

Desire explains to us that the better the buyrates, the better the pay for
the wrestlers. Cable theft takes away food from this single mom’s children’s
mouths. She asks us from one blue-collar worker to another to do the right
thing and pay for your PPV’s.

Next we are shown an extensive video package featuring last week’s X-Cup
preview, Killings & Styles, Sharkboy defeating David Young and Jarrett
talking about getting his rematch when he’s ready. Clips are also shown from
the continuing sage of Goldylocks, Watts and Abyss as well as Raven’s temper
    tantrum.

Tenay begins to welcome us to the Asylum when he is rudely interrupted by
Killings who is demanding that he come to the ring. Tenay joins 3LK and
Russo in the ring as they are arguing over the results of last week’s match
for the heavyweight title between Truth and Styles. Russo explains that last
week’s ruling on the match stands. He has discussed it with the refs and
they have all decided that Styles keeping the belt was the proper decision.

Konnan is not happy with this and asks Russo how long he plans on screwing
with 3LK. Konnan goes to choke Russo but BG James stops him. James tells
Russo that we can’t change the past but we can affect the future and then
asks him for a rematch between Truth and Styles. Something is said about
brown-nosing, which prompts the Alpha Male Monte Brown to come out. He says
that he heard the three hyenas cackling and wants to know who said his name.
Well no one did but the Alpha Male isn’t having any of that. He tells us
that “his name is the name of the alpha male and that is his title.” He
defends it constantly and claims that he is at the top of the food chain.

BG James tells him that he had his shot in the NFL and he fumbled. He wants
to know why Brown thinks he has a chance at the title. Brown responds by
telling him that he has severed heads from helmets. And then, it’s on. The
Black Shirts come out and break it up beginning what will be a very busy
night for them. After they all settle back down Russo explains to 3LK how he
has done nothing but the right thing since he has come back and he’s tired
of being bullied. Because he still has an ounce of friendship left in him
for them he isn’t going to fire them but they only have 30 minutes to exit
    the building.

We go to the back with Hudson and Raven. Raven promises us that he will
fulfill his destiny and then tells Hudson how he is tired of his
sanctimonious drivel. There are three things that Russo can’t stop him from
doing and that is putting people in the hospital and getting his hands on
that title. Yeah I know that’s only two but I couldn’t write fast enough to
catch the third one. See, you should have bought the PPV! Anyways, he tells
AJ “short trip. Bad landing. Quote the Raven, nevermore.”

A video package featuring our X-D Champ, Frankie Kazarian is shown. He hypes
up the match between Sonjay Dutt and Amazing Red. He tells them that he will
be paying close attention to this match tonight because the winner is
getting a shot at the X-D title. Either way it doesn’t matter to Kaz as he
has already beaten both of them. All we need to remember is that Kaz is the
future and the future looks good.

Match #1 Sonjay Dutt vs. Amazing Red Best 2/3 gets a change at the
    X-Division title
Both men make their way to the ring and are about to start the match when
Kaz’s music hits. He is shown walking onto the ramp with a random member of
Black Shirt security carrying a chair for him. After having random guy set
the chair up for Kaz he plops down to make himself at home.

The match was not what one expects from an X-D match. It started off with
lots of mat-based wrestling maneuvers. Plenty of opportunity to show
strength with submission holds, arm bars, and deep arm drags. Dutt finally
breaks the monotony by making it to the ropes for a break. He then rights
himself and hits Red with a tilt-a-whirl headscissors. He tosses Red into
the corner and charges him but Red gets the leg up in time for a sharp kick
to the midsection. Red tries to follow up with a failed DDT but still
manages to get two near falls. A suplex and moonsault on Red get Dutt a two
    count.

Dutt scoops Red up and sets him on the top rope but Red reverses out by
doing a flipping out and landing behind him. Red drills Dutt in the side of
the head with an enzugiri that probably picked up as seismic activity. He
tries to follow it up with a flying elbow but Dutt gets out of the way in
time. Dragon screw leg drop by Dutt followed by what is best described as a
hurri-ca-roll-up and that’s a wrap folks. Winner: Dutt by pinfall at
    8:39

Time for another video package! This one tells us the story of how the new
franchise has fallen apart. It pits student against teacher and does a good
job of hyping up the match between Shane Douglas and Michael Shane, which,
    of course, is the point.

Hudson is in the back with Michael Shane. The burning question on Hudson’s
mind is where is Traci? She is always by Shane’s side and he’s surprised to
see him their without here. Shane explains to us that they have parted ways.
He been doing things his own way for 24 years and he doesn’t need anyone by
his side to be successful. He tells Douglas that it’s time for the old men
in the business to step aside and let the young guys move up.

Match #2 Michael Shane vs. Shane Douglas
Shane is in the ring and Douglas’s voice comes over the PA system. “Are you
missing someone? Is there a void in your life? I’ll be glad to show you
where Traci is.” Traci walks down the ramp and Douglas sneaks up behind
Shane to attack him. The action is on. Ring shot cross body block by
Douglas. Shane goes up on the rope but Douglas knocks him out onto the
floor. Out on the floor Douglas his really giving it to Shane who grabs
Traci to use as a human shield. Douglas grabs Traci moving her out of the
way and then rams Shane into the outside ring post. He nails him with a hard
kick while he’s tangled up in the ropes. Douglas rips him out and tosses him
    into the steel rails.

Back in the ring again Shane has Douglas backed into a corner and he is
repeatedly kicking him about the midsection. Irish whip rollover neck snap
and Shane isn’t letting up on Douglas’s shoulder. Tenay explains to us that
since Shane was his protégé for so long that he knows his weaknesses that
include the nagging pain in Douglas’s shoulder. The back and forth action
continues between these two. Shane seems to be gaining the upper hand here
as he tosses Douglas head first into the turnbuckle and gets a two count.

Shane is back on that shoulder again but Douglas reverses and whips him into
the corner. He goes to charge Shane but he quickly gets the leg up for a
devastating kick to the stomach. Douglas hits his shoulder off the corner
again and Shane wastes no time in putting him into an armbar stretch.
Douglas reverses with a powerslam. Top wristlock on Douglas but he fights
out of it. Shane knees him in the face and goes up on top but Traci gives
the ol’ crotch shot causing him to lose his balance. He regains his balance
and tries a flying elbow but it’s denied.

Two Irish whips and elbow combos to the face by Douglas. He follows this up
by two snap suplexes on Shane and then a high vertical suplex for a near
fall. Shane elbows out and Douglas attempts a belly to belly but his arm is
too weak. Punches to the head of Douglas but he answers with a powerslam for
two. Traci distracts the ref and throws a chain at Shane but he misses.
Douglas snatches it up and lays him out for the three count. Winner:
    Douglas by pinfall at 8:24

Traci runs to Shane but Douglas lays him out and starts spanking Traci. She
wiggles away and hits him upside the head with her cast. Tenay facetiously
tells us that Traci has been wearing the cast for about six months now which
made me laugh because my husband just said that it keeps getting bigger and
bigger. Traci takes off her belt and begins choking Douglas with it. She
holds him still while Shane floors him with the Sweet Chin Music ver. 2.0.
Traci kisses him and hands him the belt. He continues to flog Douglas with
the belt until the Black Shirts come out to clean up the mess. Speaking of
which, have the Red Shirts Security been let go? I haven’t seen them for
    quite a while.

A video package is shown for the World X-Cup that is coming up in three
weeks. Apparently it will have two four man tag matches and two ladder
matches. I believe they said that the team with the lowest points would be
dropped at that point. The three remaining teams will then face off in an
Ultimate X match to decide the winner. Don’t quote me on this though. No
matter what this sounds like it is going to be one heck of a show.

Hudson is in the back with Scott D’Amore and the “new” Team Canada. He tells
us how Molsen is sponsoring them because they like to back winners. TNA got
lucky last week but this week their luck will run out. Team Canada then
breaks into a rousing rendition of “O Canada.” BG James interrupts the
French version by singing “I’m a Lumberjack” from Monty Python and then
informs Russo they are now leaving. Hudson is their witness and Scott can be
one too only a slightly larger witness. Funny stuff. I’ve always liked the
    lumberjack song.

Match #3 World X-Cup Preview Match
Team NWA (Jerry Lynn, Elix Skipper, Chris Sabin & Christopher Daniels) vs.
Team Canada (Petey Williams, Johnny Devine, Eric Young & Bobby Rude)
Williams, the new captain for Canada, starts off the action with Daniels.
Shoulderblocks to start with and then Williams hits him with an armdrag and
dropkick. Daniels hits him with a devastating enzugiri to the stomach and
tags in Skipper. He starts off with a meltdown on Williams and then they
pull out some of their old XXX tricks. Williams manages to tag in Devine who
comes in on fire. Immediately he’s laying down an atomic drop, DDT and leg
lariat. He goes for the pin on Skipper but Young breaks it in time.

Skipper tags out to Lynn who starts right in on Devine with a few kicks and
stomps. Williams gets the tag and hits Lynn with the hurricarana/Russian leg
sweep combo for a near fall followed by a cross body block for another two.
Quick tag to Young who hits a backbreaker on Lynn. Lynn tries to get in some
offense but Young is making it hard for him. Success for Lynn with a
guillotine leg drop. Rude is now in for Canada (they are really big on the
quick tags…good psychology there.) Nothing special at first until the double
underhook suplex and then he switches off to Williams who stops Lynn from
    making the tag.

Finally Sabin gets his chance to get in on the action, as Lynn is able to
make the much-needed tag. Young is also tagged in and comes at Sabin with a
Springboard DDT/face plant, which gets him a near fall. Sabin goes up on the
ropes but is stopped by Young. Hold on to your seats kiddies because this
next move alone was worth the cost of the PPV. Basically they all pile on
the ropes (except for Lynn who is still resting in the corner) setting up
for a powerbomb back suplex type move. It’s amazing that no one was hurt
during it. It might not sound too exciting on paper but to see it was mind
    blowing.

At this point everyone is everywhere and it’s hard to not miss some of the
action. Sabin charges towards Young for a missile dropkick from the ropes.
The Canadian Destroyer by Williams but Skipper defends. Nice takeover by
Devine on Skipper but here comes the Fallen Angel Daniels for a beautiful
reverse hurricarana. Very impressive indeed! Powerbomb by Rude onto Skipper
and Lynn gets the reverse roll-up for Rude. Here comes D’Amore though to
break the hold with his flag on a hockey stick. Lynn attempts a cradle
    powerdriver fails. Rude rolls him up and it’s done. Winner: Team Canada;
    Rude pins Lynn at 10:46

Ok, as far as I’m concerned this match on a scale from one to ten was an
eleven. Yes, it was one louder. Incredible match. Call them spot monkeys all
you want but this is entertainment at its best.

Hudson is back in Russo’s office which has been torn apart. Someone has
ransacked it and Hudson is wondering if it was 3LK when Kid Kash comes on
the scene. Kash tells Hudson it wasn’t them because he swears that he saw
Storm coming out putting stuff in his pockets. He goes on to insult him by
calling him the Pillsbury Cowboy and an idiot. Kash tells Hudson that he’s
going to beat him like a government mule the next time he sees him. Storm
walks on camera and the chase is on. They run all through the Asylum before
ending up in the ring. They fight until Dallas runs in and Storm gets the
beatdown. This wasn’t an official match as there weren’t any refs, just a
little bit of the ultra-violence for our viewing pleasure.

Next up is a video package hyping up the women’s match between Desire and
Trinity. Desire talks about the hard road back from her back injury. Siaki
is concerned about her. He feels it is too soon to have a singles match but
Desire assures him she will be fine. Trinity talks smack on Desire and tells
her she should have stayed home because you shouldn’t mess with the N-Y-C
(new stable name for Gilberti, Swinger & herself.)

    Match #4 Desire vs. Trinity
The guys escort the ladies to the ring. When Gilberti comes out the crowd
starts up a rowdy “Disco Sucks” chant much to his dismay. Poor guy, no
matter what else he accomplishes in life he will always be Disco. The ref
bans all the men from ringside to make it a fair match.

Desire, who doesn’t seem to have one bit of ring rust, goes right after
Trinity grabbing her hair and tossing her across the ring. Ouch! Kicks to
the face of Trinity followed by a harsh clothesline. Siaki is back on the
ramp showing concern for Desire when Trinity attacks her from behind. She
goes up on the ropes but Desire pushes her and she falls outside the ring.
Trinity retaliates by a few eye pokes and them slams her back into the ring
post. Desire is selling her heart out. It made me wonder if she wasn’t
really feeling it. Trinity has her down on the ground with her foot in the
small of her back while pulling her arms. Desire is screaming in pain. She
snatches her up by her hair and gives her a few closed fists to the chest.
Next Trinity throws slams her into the steel rail.

Back in the ring the ladies exchange blows. Good back and forth action
between the two. Desire nails Trinity with two hard clotheslines. Trinity
gets up and grabs the ref and Desire comes over. She is greeted by a good
swift kick to the back and Trinity gets the three count. Winner: Trinity
    by pinfall at 2:52

After the match Trinity beats the hell out of Desire. She goes to the top
and lands a nice, high moonsault. She grabs a chair from ringside and lays
it across Desire’s back. She goes up on the ropes again but before jumping
she sees Siaki running down the ramp so she bails instead.

Outside the Asylum Disco and Swinger are attacking “Irish” Pat Kenney
(formerly known as Simon Diamond.) Disco is making comments about how proud
he is to be Irish so he wants to make him feel Irish. They dump beer on him
so he smells like an Irishman and then they dump fluorescent green paint on
him. Security comes out and breaks it up. I told you the Black Shirts were
busy tonight. This is the most we have seen them for a while now.

Time for another video package! This one features the continuing saga of
Goldylocks, Eric Watts, and Abyss. It was actually pretty funny because they
kept playing answering machine messages that she left for Watts. Man this
    girl is nuts.

Hudson is interviewing Eric Watts backstage before his match with Abyss. He
is telling us how Goldylocks has decimated his life. He has no place to live
and no car anymore. He tells Abyss that he should have never put his nose
into their domestic situation. Watts explains how Goldylocks has stolen his
heart as well as his money and he will go to the ends of the earth to
    destroy her.

Match #5 Abyss vs. Eric Watts
Watts immediately begins by attacking Abyss with a chair. Apparently he also
brought a bat to the ring that Abyss grabbed but the ref took it away before
he had a chance to use it. Abyss is trapped in the corner and Watts is
kicking the crap out of him. Blows to the head of Abyss and then Watt’s
charges him and nails him with a clothesline over the top rope right out of
    the ring.

Outside the ring more punches and kicks are exchanged before Abyss slams
Watt’s necks on the steel rail. More punches to Watt’s head before they get
back into the ring again. Watts kicks Abyss in the stomach and Abyss replies
with a chokehold followed by a stinger splash. Another splash by Abyss
followed by a nice hook to the jaw. Watts is all tangled up in the ropes and
Abyss takes advantage of it with a few boots to the chest and stomach. More
punches, more choking. Abyss then rips Watt’s shirt off and begins to choke
him with his own shirt. Talk about salt in the wound. It would be bad enough
getting choked with a shirt but somehow knowing it was your own makes it all
    the worse.

Abyss gets Watt’s up into the torture Watts but he manages to escape by
using elbows to the side of the monster’s head. Chokeslam attempt by Watts
but Abyss elbows out this time. Boot by Abyss and a clothesline by Watts off
the top rope before the psycho walks down the ramp. Goldy is in the ring and
there is a tug of war with the bat. Abyss comes up behind and nails Watts
with a devastating Black Hole Slam for the three count. Winner: Abyss by
    pinfall at 6:00

Goldy gets on the mic so I begin to cringe. She is screaming into the mic
“Who is crazy now tough guy.” The crowd is chanting “Goldy Sucks” by now.
Watts is down on the mat and she shoves some money in his mouth telling him
that dinner is on her tonight. Goldy says to treat himself to a happy meal.
Watts lifts his arm up to grab her by the neck but Abyss comes up behind him
with his chain to choke him. Black Shirts (again!) run in to break it up but
Abyss has a special treat of Black Hole Slams for everyone. Watts’s has now
regained his momentum and has the bat. He begins to beat Abyss in the back
and midsection with it sending Abyss out of the ring.

Hudson is now with Armando Quintaro, the Spanish announcer. La Parker is
here tonight. Armando says in very badly broken English, “Looky, Looky La
Parka!” in a very excited voice. La Parka is playing air guitar with a
chair. Raven interrupts the silliness and thanks La Parka for showing up. He
thinks it was very nice of him to come and see him win. Raven then attacks
him. He gets on the mic and tells us that no one cares about Cinco De Mayo,
Mexico, or AAA. Happy Cinco de Mayo. Quote the Raven, nevermore!

It’s that time of the night. You guessed it! The hard sell with Don West.
Tenay hypes up next week’s lineup and West tells us there will be an
announcement that will forever change the face of TNA. TV deal anyone?

Storm comes out and interrupts them by calling out Kash for next week. The
crowd is popping like mad for Storm who rewards them by throwing his cowboy
    hat into the crowd.

Next is the video package hyping up tonight’s main event between Raven and
AJ Styles for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. They go over the
history of the feud. Next is the “Tale of the Tape.” Will it be destiny
denied or destiny fulfilled? There’s only one way to find out and that is to
    stay tuned!

Match #6 TNA Heavyweight Championship Match between AJ Styles vs.
    Raven
Raven comes to the ring and sits down ever so arrogantly to wait for the
match to start. When AJ enters he just scowls at him. If looks could kill
this match would already be over with.

The match starts off with the classic staredown followed by some mat action
from Raven who goes to work on AJ’s arm. Raven attempts a drop toehold but
Styles sees it coming and easily jumps over it. Top wristlock on Styles but
he reverses it into a hammerlock on Raven. Headlock off the top ropes by
Styles but Raven backs him into the corner with a flurry of punches. Raven’s
been waiting for this title shot for too long and he’s hungry for it.

Knee drop onto Raven followed by some kicks to the knee. They both seem to
have chosen their body parts for the evening as AJ goes for his knee every
chance he gets and Raven is doing the same with AJ’s arm. AJ pushes Raven
out of the ring but Raven lands on his feet and grabs AJ by the ankles to
pull him outside. Styles kicks him into the railing. Chops are exchanged and
then it is back in the ring again. Indian Death Lock by Styles. He stretches
Raven out by grabbing his chin and pulling up but Raven makes it to the
    ropes for a break.

Raven goes out of the ring for a breather so AJ goes to the ropes for a
springboard but he gets out of the way leaving AJ nothing to connect with.
Raven slams his face into the railing and then we’re back in the ring yet
again. Takedown by Styles and an elbow drop onto Raven’s knee. Raven replies
with a cross armbar. He’s not letting up on that arm at all as he locks in
the chicken wing crossface sub hold. Styles manages to wriggle out but Raven
is back on him like white on rice but AJ makes it to the ropes and Raven is
    forced to break the hold.

Punches, elbows and a few clotheslines later Styles hits the Rock Bottom on
Raven for a two count. AJ follows up with a headscissors hurricarana for
another near fall. Raven attempts the Raven Effect DDT but he’s denied.
Styles goes for his finisher, the Styles Clash, but Raven reverses it. He
now has Styles in another armbar that AJ is trying his best to twist out of
to no avail. Styles is finally able to stand up but Raven knocks him right
back down with a drop toehold. Great psychology by Raven here. Not only has
he picked a body part to work on and stuck with it but also he knows that AJ
is a high flyer and he is keeping him grounded that limits his move set.

Raven goes looking for a chair under the ring. While trying to re-enter
Styles kicks him in the head. They are both down catching their breath but
Raven gets up first. While the ref is checking on AJ Raven reaches into his
kilt and pulls out what looks like a prescription pill bottle. Styles is
back up and surprises him by taking him down. He sees the bottle that Raven
dropped and picks it up to examine it. He opens it up and realizes what it
is. He goes to throw it at Raven but Raven simultaneously kicks him sending
the powder flying all over both of them. Raven got the worst of it and he is
writhing around in pain. He goes for a drop toehold but that isn’t AJ! It’s
the ref and he is down for the count.

Styles tries to flip Raven but doesn’t make it. Raven catches him off guard
and rolls him up but there isn’t any ref to count it. Wait! Who is this
coming down the ramp? La Parka?!! He’s doing this strange little robot dance
that reminds me of a Kylie Minogue video (damned if I can think of the song
but the video is similar to “Around the World”) La Parka enters the ring and
annihilates Raven with a DDT. He causally gets back out of the ring and does
his little dance again. Styles gets up and sees Raven down so he goes for
the Styles Clash. Success! Three count is made and AJ retains again.
Winner: Styles by pinfall at 16:01

Raven comes to and realizes what has happened and he isn’t pleased. La Parka
is back in the ring taunting Raven with his dance. Raven jaws at him and La
Parka goes to unmask. La Parka unmasks? No, that would never happen. Well
surprise, surprise Raven! It’s Chris Harris and he is out for revenge. They
start to go at it and the locker room empties into the ring. Russo grabs the
mic and tells everyone to cool it. He looks at Harris and tells him he is
just as bad as Raven and he is totally out of line. Harris tells Russo that
he is the one out of line. AJ comes over wanting to know what the meaning of
all this was. Harris told him he wants his rightful shot at the belt. AJ
responds by telling him that all he had to do was ask in the first place
because AJ is a defending champ. The match is set for next week. Yeah,
