Raw News: Weekend house shows, HHH/Benoit praised, Orton’s upcoming feud Submitted by Richard Gray on Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at 2:18 PM EST
Raw brand house shows were a mix of good and bad this weekend. The brand started strong April 23rd in St. Paul with $140,000 at the gate with over 4,500 people. However, things went down from there as the show in Kansas City, MO did less than $60,000 and the paid attendance was around 1,600 people. They did a little better in Wichita, KS with 2,600 paid for approximately $85,000.
There continues to be nothing but positive feelings towards Triple H vs. Chris Benoit matches on house shows as of late. According to one source, the two called the match completely in the ring at the house show in St. Paul and had an awesome bout. Even those who are not very high up on Triple H have confirmed that he has had very strong bouts with Chris Benoit.
According to several people in the Raw locker room, there is very high anticipation for the upcoming Randy Orton vs. Shelton Benjamin feud. Many in the company feel that it is a good opportunity for both of the young men and that they will be able to run with it.
