Latest backstage news on plans for WCW & ECW returns

  • There are currently no plans whatsoever for the return of ECW. It was obviously an idea that was talked about, but never reached the greenlight phase. Plus, even though the cancellation of Confidential sparked rumors that WWE would add an ECW show to its lineup to fill in the vacancy, news of the new "WWE Experience" show puts those rumors to rest. Many probably guessed (due to the timeslot), and they'd be correct, that WWE Experience is going to be more of a family-oriented show, and will have Ivory and Todd Grisham as hosts.

As reported earlier, the WCW brand name seems more likely for a return, although even that is just something that is periodically talked about backstage, and is not a plan by any means. The word still persists that every time Vince starts coming up with ideas for a WCW return, he changes his mind, citing the fact that he's wary of being associated with a failed brand.
