Guerrero/Benoit title reigns, HBK ladder match plans, Rock's contract, Injuries, more Submitted by Ben Johnson on Monday, March 22, 2004 at 4:32 PM EST
The following news comes from The Wrestling-Observer Newsletter:
The Rock's contract with WWE reportedly expires sometime next year. Although Rock is not expected to make too many future appearances, it seems unlikely that WWE and Rock would not work out some sort of deal to allow him to make future appearances with the company.
Randy Orton recently suffered another concussion, but worked through it. WWE acknowledged it as a "virus".
Molly Holly is fighting through a neck injury. She has a backstage reputation for a great work ethic.
Charlie Haas cracked a tooth last month; due to the severity of the crack, it actually reached the nerve.
Chris Benoit is not expected to hold the title for more than a few months (unless WWE suddenly becomes even more impressed with him as a champion), while Eddie Guerrero is booked to be a "long-term" champion.
As reported, the HHH/HBK/Benoit match at WMXX was originally scheduled to be a ladder match, but WWE deemed it unnecessary, as well as the fact that they wanted WMXX to end in a pinfall, something not offered by a ladder match. There is a chance HBK vs. Benoit will meet at Backlash in a ladder match, but it's not confirmed.
