RAW Houseshow Results Montgomery, Alabama 2/27/2004 Report by Netherfiend. Finally my girlfriend and I get to see RAW in Montgomery, as it was Smackdown here for the past 2 years. The crowd never got very pumped tonight, however. And the same crazy guy has a poster sized picture of himself as a sign that Big Show tore up last year. One big guy next to me had a big dry erase board which is an idea I've had before, but never actually put into action. I'm surprised more people don't use them! I tried to keep up with the matches as they happened, but it never got very exciting, so I'm sorry if some details are off. Anyhow, onto the results! Howard Finkel was the announcer. Teddy Long comes down as the GM for the night, and says he's gonna start pushing new stars. Match #1: Dudley Boyz vs. Mark Jindrack and Garrison Cade Whoa, Bubba actually wasn't wearing shorts for once thankfully! Cade and Jindrack with a couple heelish actions. Jindrack gets set up for the Wasssssup! but Cade pushes Devon off the top rope, while Jindrack knocks Bubba out of the ring. Jindrack then rolls up Devon for the pinfall Winners: Jindrack and Cade Match #2: Matt Hardy V.1 vs. Nick Dinsmore
Back and forth action, with Dinsmore getting in some solid offense. Matt Hardy hits the Side Effect but Dinsmore kicks out. Dinsmore then goes for a Cross Arm Breaker, but Hardy doesn't flip well with the move and they improvise for a bit. Finally Hardy hits the Twist of Fate for the pin. Winner: Matt Hardy V.1 Match #3: Rob Conway w/ Renee Dupree vs. Horseshu
Horseshu seems familiar, but I can't place him. Looks like a cross between Brock and Goldberg. Horseshu controls most of the match with power moves, but Dupree constantly interferes. At one point Horseshu tries to suplex Conway back into the ring, but Dupree trips him, and Conway falls on top and gains the pinfall. Winner: Rob Conway Match #4: Christian vs. Val Venis
Christian came out to alot of heat, but I gave him the finger point saying he was the man, and he pointed back at me cause I'm one of his few peeps. He gets in the ring and cuts a promo about Trish being trash like us, and how she's ruining Jericho. Val Venis then comes out to some squeals. Christian woks on Val's neck, but Val Venis gets in control with the fisherman suplex among other moves. Val goes for the Money Shot, but Christian brings the knees up. Christian hits a neckbreaker and goes for the Unprettier, but Val reverses it into a slam. He goes back up top, and hits the Money Shot for the 1, 2, 3. Winner: Val Venis Next is the 10 minute intermission and Finkel pimps the merchandise. He shows off the Booker T bear which my girlfriend had just purchased before the show started! A local guy then gets to fire T-shirts into the crowd, and shoots most of them into the far far back seats, which gains him some boos. Back from Intermission: Teddy Long is back in the ring. He calls out Benoit for breaking Mark Henry's shoulder, because it takes quite a man to do that to the World's Strongest Man. Benoit listens to Long for a little bit, and then throws him straight into the Crippler Crossface. Benoit finally lets go and says "Now can you believe that playa!" in a funny moment. Match #5 (if you can call it that) Hurricane vs. Kane
Kane quickly in control, goes for the chokeslam, but lets go when Undertaker's gong rings. Hurricane then goes for the chokeslam on Kane but is easily shrugged off and hit with the chokeslam in the short squash. The gong plays more, and Kane leaves the ring area quickly. Winner: Kane Finkel quickly hypes up Wrestlemania XX, before announcing the following match Match #6: World Tag Team Title Match: Booker T and RVD defend the titles against Batista and Randy Orton
The heels work on Booker's leg most of the match. Booker finally gets the hot tag, and RVD comes in hitting all of his great spots very well to big pops. Good combinations of moves between Booker and RVD also. Booker T hits a Bookend on Batista while RVD hits the frogsplash on Orton for the pin. Winners and still champs: Booker T and RVD After the match, RVD calls for Booker T to do a spinarooni, since he didn't hit one during the match. Booker does so to nice pops. Match #7: Interpromotional Divas tag team match: Stacy and Jackie Gayda vs. Sable and Torrie Wilson Stacy looking wonderful in pink wrestling top and short shorts! This was a short match, which ended with Torrie pinning Jackie after a DDT. Torrie and Sable randomly then pulled their bottoms down some, teasing the crowd. Never in our direction, but atleast I got to see Stacy in person! Winners: Torrie and Sable Match #8: World Heavyweight Title match: Triple H defends against Chris Benoit
Triple H comes out to a scary amount of pops, and not much heat. So he has to start ripping the town to get some heat. But then he jokes on the guy with the poster-sized picture of himself, and gets cheers again. Make up your mind HHH. Heel or face?? This was a fairly long match, with HHH working Benoits knee most of the match. The crowd never really got into the match at all. HHH puts Benoit in the Figure Four. Benoit turns it over to get out. Triple H then slows the match down even mroe with his Sleeper. Benoit fights out, and suplexes HHH down. Benoit goes up for the headbutt, but HHH dodges. HHH goes for the pedigree but Benoit reverses. Benoit hits the Triple German Suplex on HHH, followed by the Flying Headbutt, then locks in the Crossface, but Orton runs down. Benoit sees him and beats Orton back out of the ring. While the ref is distracted, HHH uses the belt. He doesn't cover fast enough and Benoit kicks out. Benoit quickly pulls HHH back into the Crossface, but now Batista runs down. Benoit gets rid off Batista quickly as well. This time when he turns around however... Kick, Pedigree, Pin. And HHH retains the belt. Winner and still champ: Triple H
Overall the show was pretty good, but I was pretty disappointed with the crowd not being into the matches, even though there was a pretty decent sized crowd. Biggest Pops: 1. RVD 2. Triple H (oddly enough) 3. Dudleys and Booker T Biggest Heat: 1. Christian 2. Teddy Long 3. The Frenchies
