--Thanks to Mark Pickering for the following:

After seeing a few places discussing the UFC PPV tonight, which will be airing live on Setanta Sports, and its regards to the UK I thought I would just clarify.

The event, which can be ordered using the same method many used to order the Royal Rumble event last week, will be shown tonight/Sunday morning at 3am. Many fans are complaining about how the event is on a Saturday and not the usual Friday, and that Setanta have done a poor job with promoting the event.

The reason they haven’t launched into promoting it like they possibly should, is because this is the last of their 2-PPV deal to air UFC. They have publicly stated that unless buyrates improve they will not be showing any further events. By promoting this event, and not the other, they are promoting themselves into a new deal – something that this reporter imagines they aren’t too hot on doing. Below is the full UFC 46 PPV card from ufc.tv:

    Light Heavyweight Championship
    Randy Couture v Vitor Belfort

    Welterweight Championship
    Matt Hughes v BJ Penn

    Heavyweight
    Frank Mir v Wes Sims

    Middleweight
    Jorge Rivera v Lee Murray

    Welterweight
    Carlos Newton v Renato Verissimo
Karo Parisyan v Georges ST. Pierre

    Lightweight
    Matt Serra v Gerald Strebendt
    Hemes Franca v Josh Thompson

And remember, all UK fans, order this event if you want Setanta to pick up more UFC in the future and actually promote it to improve its popularity in the United Kindgom!
