WWE news: RAW storyline news, Foley/Orton/Rock, Jeff Hardy returning?

- As has been reported numerous times, the plan for WrestleMania XX is for The Rock and Mick Foley to take on Randy Orton and Dave Batista.
Mick Foley is viewed as the only person who could pull his current angle off without totally destroying his overness with fans. In fact, Foley is actually doing most of the writing for the angle himself.
The point of the angle is to get Randy Orton over as a major star, so the month-and-a-half before the WMXX match is going to be critical. WWE needs to portray Orton as a top star, so the match involving Rock and Foley, arguably two of the top five stars in recent WWE history, will be meaningful.
The Rock originally planned to be back in WWE by now, but he has not been able to get away from his movie duties. He will definitely be returning to TV shortly, however.
- With WWE at least putting some consideration into finally building up its cruiserweight division, there is now talk that Jeff Hardy is negotiating for a WWE return. Hardy would bring some star power and attention to the cruiserweight division.
While nothing has been signed, it will be interesting to see if Hardy and WWE do reach a deal. If a deal is struck, Hardy will join the cruiserweight division.
